Those licorice ice cubes just sounded vile....I wouldn't want that flavor in my drink... When she was referring to "those kids" I figured she just meant the neighborhood kids, i'm pretty sure she makes all kids refer to her Gigi, family or not...hell i've heard adults call her that as well.

Nope, I'm guessing she actually ended up driving it down to Alex. This gives Ree another reason to visit Alex at college, to recollect her containers...yeah, that's the reason. So Alex has been at college what, at the time of the taping of the episode, a month or so? She would have started in mid-August, and i'm sure they filmed this in September. I wonder how many times Ree has gone down to visit or redecorate the dorm room or whatever. I'm actually shocked that we didn't get a moving Alex to college episode where we see Ree baking goodies for the trip down. The faux-cheeze-it, well it looks like Ree has been following up on Martha Stewarts's show on PBS. That bark concoction looked horrible, well after Todd added all that crap on top. I was actually surprised that Ree didn't add marshmallow fluff on top of the white chocolate, or instead of it. I will admit that Todd has a better screen presence than Ree. I do enjoy seeing Ree and Todd together, their scenes do feel the most natural on the show. We get another Bryce painting/drawing....I do wonder what the Drummond men think about the artistic side of Bryce.

I get why Tandy is bending over backwards for these guys...Carol made the sacrifice to leave the group to be w/ Tandy and now it was Tandy's turn to sacrifice for Carol but at some point Carol had to see how unhealthy the group looks at Tand and by extension her for choosing to go off w/ him. I hope by the end of the season Carol makes the decision that they need to move on again.

I could totally see the first episode having Emily argue w/ Richard, who is off screen, for multiple scenes, perhaps while she is on the phone w/ Rory and Lorelai. The episode ends w/ Lorelai getting another phone call from Emily who is calling to say Richard had another heart attack.

I do hope McCarthy gets to come back and play, as well as Liza, and by that I mean not just some glorified cameo. I would think that since things are still being worked out that they may try to work out filming around the now more-famous cast members schedules. I mean couldn't some actors film their parts on their days off from their other commitments? I'm hoping that they do filming for all four mini-movies over the course of the year that way they aren't rushed and everyone will get their chance to make their return to the world of Gilmore Girls. My fears are that ASP will ignore the last season b/c she didn't get to play in the sandbox so to speak. I know she says she has never watched that season but just heard about different plot lines, but I call bullshit on that. I have fears of the Dawson's Creek series finale regarding Rory and her relationships w/ Dean, Jess, and Logan. We open w/ her living w/ her new boyfriend that she has been dating for years but a trip back to Stars Hollow and an unexpected run in or two w/ them and we end w/ her back together w/ one of them. I do hope we open w/ Luke and Lorelai already married and the whole "twin dream" ended up becoming a reality or about to.

The thing is that the locked shed was shown in the background before they decided to shock collar Tandy, you could see it when they were showing the cow the first time. I can't believe that New Phil would have the know-how nor the time to make the stocks that looked that fine-polished from the time that Tandy threatened them w/ the gun to deciding to lock him in the stocks. It all looked like it was pre-pre-exisitng, and of course there is nothing wrong w/ Gordon having a kinky side if that. This is what I thought was going to happen, but the reason I think they didn't think Tandy started the fire was simply the fact that Tandy would have woken them all up to let them know he had saved them from a fire he would have started to get in their good graces.
-
So what was the shed meant to be before they turned it into Tandy's prison? It made me think Gordon had a "fifty-shades" side or something. I really do wish the show was just original Phil and Carol traveling around North America in search of a different group of survivors Bc this group is a bunch of dicks. I kinda do hope we get a backstory on the relocation from Tucson to California at some point, but just an episode and nothing longer than that.

Snark Talk: Home, Home on the (De) Ranged
CMH1981 replied to film noire's topic in The Pioneer Woman
The tucking in thing I believe is b/c sometimes loose clothing can be a hazard around the different machines or whatnot outdoors doing what they do. -
I think Castellaneta likes to stretch out from just being Homer all the time, plus let's face it was just what, 2 days of acting time...i'm sure they shot this movie in a week or less. I think Dan has a wicked sense of humor and thought this would be fun, plus he gets to do the Melrose Place and any future unauthorized films that includes Aaron Spelling on Lifetime, which let's face it there are plenty to choose from...i'm hoping a 7th Heaven one is in the works.

I know they didn't get into the majority of the behind the scenes dealings w/ Shannen Doherty, but from this movie it made it look like she was voted off the 90210 island mainly for being late to the set. The almost throw down b/t Shannen and Jennie was laughable b/c you just know Shannen would have mopped the floor w/ Jennie, Shannen plays dirty. So did Jennie b/c the new top bitch after the Shannen ouster this movie made it seem like was going to happen? Was this the first time we had post-show updates (no matter how cheesy/stupid these were) on one of these unauthorized movies? I know Candy comes into play here w/ the amount that Tori and her brother were left, since she seems to be a bitch and probably manipulated Aaron into amending his will near the end all that, but just b/c your parents have an immense wealth doesn't mean they are obligated to give a huge chunk of it to you after their death or even before that. It's their money, or in this case Aaron's money, that he made himself. If Tori wants millions then by god she can try to have her go at it to make something of herself other than a failed reality actress w/ two bad marriages.

The crab salad on endive did look good, as did the chicken divan but again no way did she make enough to feed all those people unless they got appetizer portions if that.
-
He reminds me of Alan "Severus Snape" Rickman. I think it's the nose. I do think the custard mix-up threw Howard off his game. That "floating islands" dessert looked like poached eggs to me as well.

I wasn't going to comment on this episode b/c it was just blah, well all of her episodes are just blah b/c of her mediocre cooking/baking talent. So instead of just buying the guy suckers she decides to make her own by just crushing up candy and reheating it to form into suckers? What's next, crushing up various cereals then adding some honey or something of the sort to re-form into her own new cereal? The faux marshmallow treats for her brother....my teeth hurt just looking at it. I was shocked she didn't drizzle on more butter w/ the chocolate then sprinkle on sugar. This show...ugh...well at least Nancy on Farmhouse Rules made some appetizing recipes this week...wait she does that every week.

So...that "cowboy fried rice" happened. Good lord that was so not what i was thinking when she named the dish at first, but then I remembered the Drummond boys can't not have meat in a dish, even if it's fried rice. Has she made that barbecue salad dressing before? Ugh...I just can't even imagine the taste. I was surprised by the size of those corn tortilla crispy strips on top of the salad. Those were huge...she totally could have made the strips thinner or cut them in half. The pork chops did look good, I was surprised though she barely dredged them. I was wondering that too... I'm betting the first time she ever "nuked" a potato she didn't pierce it, I would pay to see her reaction to that.

I think Joy sees the writing on the wall that Whoopi might not make it to the end of this season and wants to to secure her keeping the top dog spot on the show. Once Whoopi leaves people will be hoping that Rosie rejoins the show which would threaten Joy of the cushy moderator job. I like Joy, but trashing other co-hosts, ones she has said that she is on her side and considers a friend, and the creator of the show is just tacky.

I thought that too about the mason jars being too tiny and hard to maneuver w/ a spoon to get the contents at the bottom. I also hoped that none of those ladies had an aversion to any of the ingredients. I know some people can't stand coconut ( can't stand it ) or pineapple, but I guess you are just supposed to suck it up and eat it when you are around the chef.

I've been watching this series on Antenna TV, trying to get all the way through it and the show somehow lost it's charm after the second season I think. When the show started to go "mod" it just kinda went off the rails. I'm on the fifth season now, and I have to say some of these episodes are a chore to get through, but i'm all in till the end and then i'll move on to Bewitched.

I was kind of hoping Ree would forget to close the gate of the truck so when we see her and the gals take off for the "bestest picnic spot evah" that we see the food and supplies go falling out of the back of the truck. I know...i'm pure evil. I'm not sure if "giant chicken nuggets" were the best for picnic food, but they did look tasty. I swear if I didn't know better I would think that Ree was angling for a mason jar sponsorship on her show as much as she mentions them as the best thing ever. I was at my local Walmart this morning and thought I would see if they had any of the Pioneer Woman wares in the household section and it took me a little while to find it. It was on an end-cap and already marked down for clearance. Oh well...

So was today's episode an unofficial "backdoor pilot" for Kardea? It sure seemed like it the way Nancy was talking her up. I will admit that Kardea had such a natural ease on camera talking and cooking, something that the Pioneer Woman has yet to find. Everything they made today was just amazing, and I've never had crawfish before but I want that pie and I want those biscuits and that bacon butter. FN, this is someone that needs her own show if you don't already have something in mind w/ her.
-
Yeah, I don't even know what the reason was for the first case today other than both sides are just sniping at one another. It's like I told my ex when we lived in a bad neighborhood, sometimes you just don't make nice w/ your neighbors...it never ends well. You either get into arguments/squabbles or they take advantage of you. That lady in the last case was looney. I won't pay for your car damage b/c there is no proof....there is no debris laying around. Uh...honey, the broken pieces of bumper were either obliterated by the sheer force of your cart of crap ( loved how JMM wanted to call it that but corrected herself ) careening into it or it's inside the bumper. Hell if the car was outside the studio they should have went out there and fished it out of the inside of the bumper.

I bet whenever there is an unsolved murder his DNA is one of the first to check against in that city. I do think the judge as well as the daughter came to the same conclusion about him showing up at the daycare that day, but they couldn't outright say it on air.
-
Wouldn't it be funny if ABC is making up these Rosie O might return rumors in order to make Whoopi consider breaking her contract and leave? You can totally tell how much it gets under her skin just the idea of Rosie O returning. If they were to release one of these rumors about the higher brass discussing it every few weeks who knows what might happen. As for Babs, well she's just crazy...although I could see her wanting to come back so she can interview Trump or some of the other potential candidates for President on air.
-
That was the gist of it AngelaHunter. I had to rewind it a few times since everyone was talking at that point. I totally believe he was going to kidnap his grandchild from the daycare and hold her for ransom for that damn ring. I really hope they all have restraining orders against him b/c I can totally see him taking "justice" into his own hand damn the outcome. I would have loved to have seen this case on Judge Judy, b/c I think she would have read him for filth and not let up. That woman goes for blood.
-
I was more surprised that JMM kept her composure after the 77 times in jail deadbeat father told her basically she needed to shut and listen and he's seen the show before and he wasn't going to let her talk over him.
-
Do you think the Disney/ABC brass likes that Whoopi has named herself the end all be all on who might and might not come back? Rosie O has always been a huge Disney supporter, we all remember the Frozen/Let it Go synergy that Rosie O brought, and then you have Babs. I'm thinking they might tell Whoopi to shut her mouth at this point or divert her from interviews speaking about stuff she knows nothing about nor has the power to speak about.
