  1. Very, very true. If they had ignored the racial issues, it wouldn't have rang true, though it was a bit awkwardly done. But let's face it, any young man of any color pointing a gun at the police commissioner after a shooting probably would get plugged by said police commissioner if she hadn't known him (but then, the PC probably wouldn't have been in that situation in the real world)
  2. It was nice to see Abishola so relaxed and having fun with her 2 friends. That's going to come back and bite her with the ex, but her son was happy to see her having fun
  3. I didn't remember we saw them before, but I wouldn't mind seeing them again. They were a hoot. It was a pretty funny episode
  4. Season 2 premieres Tuesday, June 22 at 10pm http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2021/05/10/freeforms-summer-slate-sizzles-with-returning-favorites-54415/20210510freeform01/
  5. That first sketch with Professor preMBA nutcase and Gabrielle Union was pretty funny. Poor Gabrielle
  6. The topic didn’t exist when the show premiered so I figured there wasn’t enough interest and started it in the Other Comedies section. If it gets enough responses, we can ask that it be moved to the Main Comedy section
  7. Cultbox has pictures of Jodie and crew greeting a young fan while filming in Grangetown this past Tuesday. Note that Jodie seems to be wearing black suspenders https://cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/doctor-who-series-13-jodie-whittaker-and-the-tardis-touch-down-in-grangetown
  8. From the Guardian: More accusations against Clarke, this time on the Doctor Who set when he was on the show https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/may/07/noel-clarke-accused-of-sexual-harassment-on-doctor-who-set
  9. Season 2 will encore on AMC starting June 27 http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2021/05/05/a-discovery-of-witches-season-2-makes-linear-encore-on-amc-beginning-sunday-june-27-263311/20210505amc01/
  10. Nominated for a Peabody https://peabodyawards.com/stories/peabody-awards-announces-60-nominees/
  11. I unfortunately missed most of this due to my local station covering a tornado or a possibility of one. Hopefully, I can catch it on Paramount+ or CBS.com
  12. Enjoyable episode overall The singing in the race number seemed off, like it was heavily processed. The rest of the numbers were pretty enjoyable. Mary Steenburgen somehow miraculously sounded good Good that Mo dumped Perry as Perry clearly still had too much self hatred given his backstory

I have to say, "Philly D.A." is really fascinating so far and I'm only 30 minutes into the first episode. No doubt it's hard to change any major thing in midstream, like turning an ocean liner. Plus, they didn't exactly have the police on their side
  14. Actually, as long as they are having sex, they should discuss it further and come to some kind of conclusion because there is always the possibility of an accidental pregnancy, and then they really will have to make some decisions
  15. She wasn't in a ground combat role, I believe she said she was in a logistics or support unit working with Danny's unit. No wonder she was in a downward spiral given the loss of life
  16. Everybody's ratings have fallen hard in the last 2-3 years especially, and definitely during this Covid season. CBS's viewership is maybe better than some others (at times), but their 18-49 demos for their shows aren't really any better than the other networks
  17. The ongoing spy sketch was pretty funny, especially with her boss trying to kill her, than taking some unexpected time to die. I also enjoyed the sketch with Amber Riley and others giving feedback on some promo for a Black women's show (or ad maybe)
  18. The homeless woman story was the best one and definitely emotional with the reveal that Jamie was watching after her because she was a former Marine who served with Danny in Iraq and saved his life but has spiraled since. I was actually glad that she had a reunion with Danny at the end and he convinced her to get help. Jamie would have helped himself when he got in trouble if he had revealed why he was protecting her, but I guess he was keeping a promise to her
  19. Cultbox has pictures and a writeup of Mandip, John Bishop, and Kevin McNally filming at Cardiff Castle today (Friday). They were reportedly wearing 19th Century costumes similar to what they wore in the Liverpool filming https://cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/doctor-who-series-13-19th-century-episode-continues-filming
