  1. I met Pat Summitt (legendary basketball coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols) once, and I was a babbling idiot, but she was very nice to me, shook my hand, and thanked me. I still cry on the anniversary of her death.
  2. I do not care for that old woman, and I am not looking forward to seeing more of her.
  3. It was interesting to see Adam walking; I had a reaction to it too. It's really pretty amazing how well adjusted he's become.
  4. I know someone who had a stroke, and he acted a lot like Bob's mother: depressed, mean, and saying things without a filter. But he never got any better and certainly never apologized for it, so I hope it's a good sign that Bob's mother will get better.
  5. But the point is that there are actual people who live there; it doesn't matter if they film there or not.
  6. I found this: https://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/attorney-ethics-and-divorce-what-to-know I would think that simply walking into an office and asking a lawyer to represent you wouldn't cause a conflict of interest. But I'm not a lawyer. Oh, I also found this, in answer to a question on a forum: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-unethical-for-a-lawyer-to-represent-one-spouse-in-a-divorce-after-the-other-spouse-made-an-initial-contact-to-hire-that-lawyer-instead From other places (I've done a quick search) it seems that it depends on if retainers were paid or if actual consultation occurred. Bottom line: it's interesting, but it IS a sitcom, so maybe we shouldn't look to it for legal advice! 😄
  7. Maybe it's to protect the residents; if you had an actual location, there would be the possibility of crazy fans showing up, which could be at the least annoying, or even dangerous.
  8. I enjoyed both plots of this episode. I loved that Greg didn't mind that Katie got hit on in the bar (and wasn't that nice?). And recreating the picture was such a great idea! So sweet to include Cooper and Trip in one of the photos.
  9. I just gotta say - does Estelle Parsons ever age? One month short of 92, people!
  10. I'm white and I consider myself a feminist. I took it as "something to think about that I've never considered." This show does point out problems that black people have that white people don't have to consider, and I appreciate that. I don't know a lot of black people, but I try to understand.
  11. The lady on the subway looked familiar, so I looked her up. She played the lady on the bus in a Young Sheldon episode a couple weeks ago. ("An Entrepreneurialist and a Swat on the Bottom"). It was almost the same character; listen to a random seatmate tell you their tale of woe.
  12. Hush puppies are small balls of deep fried cornmeal (about the size of golf balls). I think the ones at Long John Silvers have chopped onion in them. I have had them where sugar was added to the batter; these are good dipped in honey!
  13. In general, I like "soul food", but chitlins are gross. It was funny, though, how "diner food" where I live is specialty food in LA 😄.
  14. Aw, I like Tina. She's willing to stand toe to toe with Jessica.
  15. A home food prep business isn't easy to set up - unless you do it under the table. I have a friend who had to add on a kitchen dedicated to his business. But that said, yeah, it's a TV show so maybe they won't worry about that. $50 for a lasagna seems pretty pricey, but then again the client has money. I'm glad she found something to do to bring in some money. I really enjoyed the scene with Oliver's "2 moms". It did kinda remind me of the current admissions scandal, though. Somehow it didn't seem like cheating to me, but maybe it's because I thought it was so funny.
  16. He thought that because that exact thing had happened when he was in the store earlier with the fake ID.
  17. I am totally lost in the story arcs, but I am enjoying the episodes anyway. All the actors are so charming.
  18. I liked the "synchronized swimming" at the end credits; they must have had a lot of fun filming that! It also emphasized how tall those boys are getting!
  19. Maybe this was mentioned in another thread, but why does Trip call Katie "Mrs. A."? Is it just to show how dumb he is? About the lunch lady: it was nice to see Kathy Kinney again. OK, the character and situation was ridiculous, but this whole show is ridiculous; you just have to sit back and enjoy it.
  20. I had totally forgotten that Katie had a job! Too bad she quit; I would have liked to see more.
  21. Yeah, all Adam needed to do was say "hey, knock it off" and the guy would probably have stopped. There was no reason for her to put up with that.
  22. Ariel Winter (Alex) was on "Law & Order: SVU" last night (October 3) in an episode titled "The Darkest Journey Home". I don't normally watch it, but I saw her in a promo so I thought I'd check it out. She played a girl who got drunk and was raped but couldn't remember the details. During the episode she slowly started remembering. I thought she did a good job. Also, her hair was lightened and looked pretty good. You can see a picture of her and read about it here: https://www.eonline.com/news/1079421/how-law-order-svu-and-mariska-hargitay-changed-ariel-winter-s-life
  23. I'm still enjoying the show, especially Phil.
