Late Night With Seth Meyers - General Discussion
MaryMitch replied to Words's topic in Late Night With Seth Meyers
Seth really needs to listen to NPR - it's not just for "old people". No need to be snotty, Seth. I've noticed this too! -
I wish they would settle on a way to display the running technical score. I think they should go back to showing the base score and GOE for each element and not this "base score and final score" or "max score and element score" crap. I don't want to have to do math in my head during the skate! And why should we have to see the max score? It's not like in gymnastics when you start with a max score and then make deductions.

LSSC: Season Seven Episode Talk
MaryMitch replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Late Show With Stephen Colbert
I'm enjoying the extended interviews the last week or so. I guess they're having problems getting in-person guests, but it's working out as far as I'm concerned. -
The plots are so awful, I've been concentrating on Becky's hair. She needs to lay off the bleach.

I think their app must use a lot of memory/resources. Maybe a design flaw, since I haven't had any problems with other streaming channels. I had problems just loading the HBOmax app on my Roku. I ended up getting a new Roku (moved the other one which was maybe 4 years old to a bedroom TV) and everything's been fine since.

Sorry, but I thought that coat was ug-ly. That little girl was awful, but I'll bet the actress was having a blast!

I thought at the end when it was confirmed that Alberta was poisoned, it would somehow fulfill her "destiny" or whatever and she would be able to ascend (or get - what was it? - "sucked off")

People on TV shows start home baking businesses but never have to deal with health department regulations. I know "it's only a TV show", but I have a friend who had to add an entire separate kitchen to his house to start his business. It could actually be an interesting episode to see them handling the consequences of a health inspection.

Last night I finished a re-watch of the series. I first watched it during the previous administration. Even though the previous and current administrations are so different, I think the show ages well and most of the plots are still relatable. (But I hate CJ's hair in the last season. 😁 )

The Cast of Young Sheldon: My Mother Had Me Tested
MaryMitch replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Young Sheldon
Isabel May, the actress who played "Veronica" in several season 2 and 3 episodes (she was the "bad girl who found Jesus" and Georgie had a crush/friendship with), is in the new Paramount+ series "1883". It stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill. I saw a promo for it on the Paramount channel. -
I took the survey; it took less than 5 minutes.

This cast is so amazing and talented; I wish the writing was better.

It's funny.. I watched BBT since the beginning, so am very familiar with Sheldon and his quirks, but the other day I was watching an episode and "adult" Sheldon did something and I thought "he's doing a good job of imitating YS", then I realized it was the other way around. Iain Armitage does such a good job!

Did the scoring change? In the Technical score display, now they are showing the "max score" for each element, instead of the base score. I prefer seeing the base score. (When I can see them; the numbers are so small that I can hardly read them.)

Thank you for mentioning Adriana was played by another actress! I was wondering why she looked so different. The dog's name is Cannoli.

In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths
MaryMitch replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
When someone dies of COVID, the first thing people want to know is "was he vaccinated?" So it makes sense to answer that question right at the start. I do appreciate CNN also mentioning in the headline that he was battling cancer. -
I was also listening to the radio, and this moment is what I remember most. Absolutely terrifying.
-
The only thing I'll remember about this episode is how Mark has shot up. The rest... meh.
-
Looks like they're showing 3 hours/day next Mon, Tues, Wed... that's as far as my channel guide goes. I've never watched Castle, so I'm catching a couple episodes here and there; it's ok so far.

I think in the past a lot of women didn't even know they were losing a pregnancy. It's amazing how pregnancy tests have changed the landscape.

S04.E03: Welcome to the Sister From Another Mister
MaryMitch replied to jewel21's topic in The Neighborhood
Sorta off topic, but lately I've heard about people putting raisins or nuts in potato salad. Maybe it started with this: (the potato salad starts around 5:14) I've asked many people on several sites I visit, and no one has ever seen potato salad with raisins. It sounds pretty gross to me, and I've eaten a lot of potato salad! -
In my memory, seems like she was planning to get surgery, but she just didn't wake up one morning due to overdosing.

S04.E01: Trucking Live In Front of a Fully Vaccinated Studio Audience
MaryMitch replied to DanaK's topic in The Conners
Everyone grieves differently. I know many widow/ers who married less than a year after losing their spouse. One of my friends married someone who lost his wife and in a couple months met her and in a couple more months they were married. She kids that if she goes first, he'll bring a date to her funeral. -
S04.E01: Trucking Live In Front of a Fully Vaccinated Studio Audience
MaryMitch replied to DanaK's topic in The Conners
The "guest Conners" gimmick was pretty weak; hopefully they won't try anything like that again. Other than that, the episode seemed like a regular "Conners" episode; except for the part where Darlene ran through the backstage area, I didn't notice any flubs from it being live.
