  1. Looks like J.J. Watt is out for the season with another back injury. Apparently he reinjured his back during the Patriots game on Thursday night. Many Houston fans were concerned that he was coming back from surgery too soon. Guess they were right.
  2. The heat radiating from Ginger is palpable, even through my television. I never saw it with Jill or Jessa.
  3. I was so sad when I heard one of the twins talking about his 'graduation' from high school. He was really glad that he was done with schooling - now he could get on with his life of selling used cars. It's clear that the none of these kids ever even consider college as a next step in their education. I just don't get it. How brainwashed would you have to be to completely ignore the possibility of further education?
  4. Will the women's AA competition tomorrow happen during the afternoon or will it be live that night?
  5. This was exactly my thought. My hair is thinning, not due to PCOS but to ageing and genetics, and my hair dresser strongly advocated that I never use any chemical process on it. It's just too damaging.
  6. My nephew's wife's name is Lester, and that's what she goes by. Thirty years ago, when my nephew told his father that he wanted to date Lester, my brother nearly had a heart attack, until it was explained to him!
  7. I'm in the Houston area and we're getting back to back episodes Friday night.

So glad Kocian made the team. She is glorious to watch on the Uneven Bars. As for Tim Daggett - I cringed every time he declared Biles the greatest gymnast of all time, with Nastia sitting right there. He could have at least acknowledged how great she had been back in the day.

What an amazing performance by Querry! In his after-match interview, Djokovic was asked if he was 100% physically. He indicated that he was not, but refused to elaborate. He said that he would not be playing Davis Cup and hadn't decided about playing the Olympics. John McEnroe predicted that Djokovic won't play in the Olympics - that he needed some significant time away from tennis. Nothing was said about the U.S. Open.

I feel like there's not much excitement about Wimbledon this year - same old, same old - but I got a kick out of reading that a tennis coach ranked 770 in the world has qualified to play. His first match opponent? Roger Federer.
  11. I'm old enough to remember the attic fan that we had back in the days before air conditioning. It was loud and creaky, but somehow it circulated enough air for us to survive the summers in Houston. I can't imagine life without AC now.
  12. Re: Aaron and The Amazing Race He raced with his girlfriend Hayden. She was a whiner and a bitch, but they raced pretty well. He famously proposed to her on the show right after they were eliminated. I have no idea if they are still married.
  13. Has there been an update on Milla? Her episode ended with her about to undergo the gastric bypass, so we don't know how she did afterwards. Also - this is one of the only cases that I can remember when Dr. Now removed a lymphydema before the bypass. Have there been others?
  14. I'd also like to see Dan win. I was really worried for him tonight - I thought for sure the judges would boot him and keep Kenny. The only baker I don't like is Jane. She seems destined to win, but I really hope she doesn't.
  15. I wonder how big the ratings will be for Tuesday's show, when she returns. I'm guessing a number of people, especially those who don't normally watch the show, will tune in just to see how Kelly conducts herself.
  16. The tall bride (Jaclyn) with the too-short sleeves was on a recent Survivor with her fiance Jonathan. She actually made it to the Final 3. She's a beautiful girl and I really liked her wedding dress.
  17. Did Margaret miss any questions that she went for?
  18. I may just skip this season if Erin is on. I couldn't stand her on the Baking Championship show, and then she won. Yuck. She's really hard for me to watch.
  19. I confess to missing the April Fool's Day homage completely. I was only half watching - mainly listening - so I didn't see all of the gags. I did look up just at the point Ken Jennings was answering 'turquoise' and I was completely baffled. I rewound that section several times, just to be sure my eyes weren't deceiving me, and still April Fools never occurred to me. I only figured it out after reading here. I also guessed Singapore.
  20. The bride in alterations - maybe it's just me, but I thought her dress didn't fit her in the bust area at all. When she tried it on in the store, I figured that they would make final alterations to make it fit better. But at her wedding, it still looked 'gappy' to me. Amy Purdy's dress was gorgeous - one of the prettiest we've seen lately.
  21. This one makes me especially sad. Patty Duke was always present during my early years. I don't know how many times I've watched The Miracle Worker. To die of a ruptured intestine? How awful.
  22. Cold Justice has been cancelled, according to Reality Blurred. http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/ There is no mention of Sigler's legal troubles or the lawsuits filed against the show and its producers - just that the new head of TNT was making changes. I'll miss the show, but it has really been tainted by all of the behind-the-scenes stuff.
  23. Yes - they did figure out that they needed to cover the bed before thay cut into the sheetrock. That was possibly the most boring hour of television I have ever sat through.
  24. I definitely think so. Some lines seem scripted, designed to set up a funny comeback from Steve. No way would the little ventriloquist last night have thought to say, "This is so awkward" without some coaching.
