The movie is fantastic, as is the book. When I was teaching English lit, I had my seniors read the book, then showed them the movie. They loved both.

I'm old and not clued in to a lot of current internet practices, so I thought I'd ask you guys my question. How does it work that Jill can make money by posting crappy recipes on her website? Who is paying her the money? Is it a significant amount of money, enough to support her family since her worthless husband won't? I just don't get it.

So excited to have this show returning! It's a favorite in my house.

We've always owned GM vehicles but are thinking about changing to Subaru for our next car. My daughter has owned 2 of them and absolutely adores them. My husband, who is a master mechanic, has ridden in her car several times and is very impressed.

What I don't understand is why Jill keeps posting these crap recipes if she then has to lie about them. What's the point?

Surely she meant 2 tablespoons of butter rather than 2 sticks? Right?

I haven't watched this show in years, but I'm going to tune in this season to see Cheryl and her hunky partner. I don't have a clue who he is, but no matter. I didn't know who Gilles Marini was either and I pretty quickly fell in love with him. Maybe lightning will strike again for Cheryl!

Leaving tomorrow morning to help take my wonderful granddaughter to college. She's a freshman; it will be her first time away from home. We're going to miss her so much!

This day was almost my worst nightmare... Federer lost and Djokovic won. Yuck. But then Rafa pulled out the win, so that made it much better. Isner vs. Anderson may be really boring, so I'm looking forward to watching Rafa beat Djokovic. I would love to see Rafa win the whole thing.

If you know how to contact a family member, then I think you should. They may be pleased to learn that an old friend is interested in learning more about him and cares enough to investigate.

Lantern7, why did Mario black out Skupin's eyes and use an alternate name for him? Is it because of all of the terrible revelations about his child pornography collection and subsequent legal problems?

I could hardly pay attention to this pathetic group because of Giada's first dress. I realize she's known for her cleavage, but that dress was just ridiculous. I wonder if she even realizes that her boobs as well as her teeth make her the object of ridicule.

I can't give you a page number, but I can tell you that ArwenEvenstar is battling ovarian cancer. She told us a number of weeks ago that she was about to start a new chemo regimen and would not be posting here for a while. We haven't heard from her in a long time.

George Springer of the Astros went 6 for 6 in last night's game against Oakland. I wonder how many times that has happened.

Someone upthread said that this was the best show on Animal Planet. I'll go one further and say that it's close to being the best show on television right now. It's certainly my favorite. This show is educational, entertaining, and at times a gripping drama. The head of the zoo has a voice made for television. (His wife still irritates me. Hard to believe they're married.)

I loved The Shift. Wish it was still in production

This episode pissed me off. Once again an authority figure screws a man over by abusing his power. The husband lost 8 years of his life after being convicted of a murder which could have been disproved if all the evidence had been disclosed as it should have been. He should thank his sister every day for pursuing the truth which eventually set him free.

All I can think is that they must have a huge endowment. The director's wife bugs. Everything else about this show is awesome.

Are they seriously going to spend that kind of money to have Jill go with him? I thought they were practically penniless.

That was a close call for the judges. If Abbie's cake hadn't been so dry I think she would have won. Her decorations were superior to the other two, especially Alex's. I do think that Linsey's skills were the best throughout the competition, so if my favorite Bryn couldn't win, I'm happy with Linsey.
