Thanks Janarella. Especially with a baby living there, posting something where you can figure out an address is not something we encourage. However, using the Private (or Personal) Messenger is fine.

I would love fall if I didn't have to do the yardwork of leaf removal. GAH, I hate. From mid-October until mid-December it's never ending. It's been so dry here that the maple has already started losing and instead of the vibrant yellow the leaves are tan. The lawns are brown. I don't know about an Apple watch, but I believe cider donuts are those dense cake ones. I've seen Entemanns ones but they're probably not as good.

My brother and I decided to hide eggs for the gaggle of cousins the night before Easter. The squirrels and/or chipmunks got into all of them. They were the plastic ones filled with candy. It's annoying and I've started hiding in the house. All the kids are old enough now to not believe in the Easter Bunny so they give me 15 minutes to hide and then go seek. Because even if one doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny doesn't mean that one does not get candy. Though, truth be told, they don't get much candy--usually it's a spring/summertime outdoor toy, like waterguns and swimming goggles. Some Cadbury Creme Eggs and a small chocolate rabbit and that's it. And this talk of candy has made me realize Halloween is approaching. What was the one candy that you looked forward to getting? Hated getting? I loooove 100 Grand Bars and was always thrilled to get one. And I hated getting Raisinets because they're just...no. Raisins are fine. Raisins and chocolate? No. Also, don't go putting raisins in my carrot cake either.

The Other Duggars: The Lost Girls and Amy
frenchtoast replied to Ljohnson1987's topic in Counting On
Talk of Michelle and fashion can go in the either the Duggar World topic OR Michelle and Jim Bob's topic. I got lost in here! Thanks! -
Let's make sure any remarks about the clerk in KY are in relation to the Duggars in the Media. Normally, politics and religion are topics not discussed on PTV. Discussion of the Duggars and politics is hard to avoid considering how they've involved themselves. However, we do not need wide ranging discussion of politics and the hot button issues in this forum. Please PM us with any questions or clarification.

The Small Talk topic is perfect for this discussion. Feel free to carry on and wander in different stories too.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
frenchtoast replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
A reminder folks that all sorts visit this board, we are all guests at a fabulous, fun party. Not everyone will agree with you, and if you can't be civil and respectful party goer then it would be best to bite your tongue. Let's keep in mind that some jokes, especially about religion and politics, can easily be taken the wrong way and it would probably be best to keep the jokes and comments about the Duggars and not about religion or politics. Please let the host know via report or PM if you feel something has crossed the line. Getting defensive and heated only makes the situation worse. -
Folks, let's keep this to the Duggars and the media, not people in the media that make you think of the Duggars. Especially when it's something that's political. Unless the Duggars are involved, let's avoid it. Thanks!

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
frenchtoast replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Yes, that's fine. It's just that a weekly chat with little context when not all member are there is confusing and unfairly monopolizes the topic is all. But try to make it about Josh and Anna. It is the topic for Josh. If he's not there, just a brief description and not a huge off topic meandering. Yes, we let it go last week. It's not something we need pages about every week. -

Please, folks, not live chatting/blogging the livestream of the meeting. We will start hiding posts. -

Folks, we cannot prevent you from doing stuff at other sites. However, it's getting to be a bit much here. Please, no live blogging/chatting the livestream from now on. You can make your arrangements and discuss the secret handshake via PM. Thanks! -
And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition
frenchtoast replied to statsgirl's topic in Arrow
There is no place on this site to discuss the fans of the show. If you find yourself typing the word "fans" stop and rethink your post. Unless you are saying "My cat, Diggle, and I are big fans of the show" then it's probably not going to be appropriate. Also reconsider the phrase Everyone Thinks and People Think. Talk about what you think and why you voted or feel about an award etc. -
Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

Also, I think the dad was thinking back to when the washing machine was bought not that he went out and bought it after saying yes to the team. I think he was thinking: Got that new washer with the sink and I can at least get some of the stinkiness out in that sink so the whole house doesn't smell like a locker. Now, as to not having a change of clothes, that is more problematic. Then again, I'd be one of those that uses the attached sink so that I can get to stains before I have to do a load. But then again I have coffee drip stains on far too many of my shirts. Because clearly I am a klutz. -
There are no Harris Teeters by me--just Shaw's, Stop and Shop and to a lesser extent Hannafords. What I really need is a "smart" home that will know when something needs to be replenished and order it so it's delivered when I need it. Or, you know, Star Trek replicators. That could work too.

I use the scanner and the self check out so I don't have to hear it not only say the price, but also take the extra 5 seconds to tell me the "savings". Just scan the dang thing and let me finish my order and get out! I do like the scanner and self check out. Makes my shopping experience sooo nice. When my kids were younger it was a sanity saver.

I hate shoe shopping. Even online. I remember years ago when I was pregnant with my now 9 year old daughter and my feet got bigger and I had to get new shoes. I posted on TWoP that I was not looking forward to it. And someone said well isn't it better than maternity clothes shopping. And another pregnant lady said, "Not really, since we can't see our feet." (There were three of us in the Star Trek forum that were pregnant and one of the lovely posters knitted each of our babies a sweater with the Enterprise and there was a card chain sent around for people to sign. I still have both and we made our own little group on Facecbook. Love internet communities.)

I'm really weird. I like the grey overcast of January. Mostly because I can be cozy in my house with my stuff. Like hibernating but with television. Oh, and as a child of the 80s I too got my picture taken by my mom on the first day of school. It stopped when I was in 3rd or 4th grade though. My daughter asked me this year, so we dragged the poor teenager to do it too. It was also his birthday, poor kid, so it was something that we did want to remember.

Even though the US Open started, and they could be a Williams' sister one, DirecTV has that agreement with the NFL, so it's just going to be football. Maybe in the next round. Dreaming is free, right?

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Let's get back to talking about Josh and Anna, please. Thanks! -
As a NY Giants fan, I want to hate that Tony Romo ad so badly, but it makes me laugh every time. Dang it! My consolation is the Eli Manning one is ok. But what I really hope is that Romo gets sacked by the Giants. A lot.

The elevator scene and Fury's car chase scene are tied for my favorite of that movie. But what pushes the car chase scene to the top for me (and the highway scene too) is the music. I enjoyed the hell out of the music in TWS, too.

{{Hugs}} GeeGolly. Wanderwoman, I am so very sorry that you've been so profoundly disappointed by someone you loved and trusted. It's not you, it's him. I fervently hope you have a few good friends nearby you can call on to help get some meals ready and simple chores. Ask them. Ask them to come over and delight in Maisie. Ask them to come and watch a movie with you. You are a warm, kind, thoughtful, strong woman and you deserve the best. _________ Rancide posted this in the Josh and Anna topic: As the sister of an addict, YES! Though I wouldn't call rehab a sham so much as an emergency patch measure. So little is understood because no one wants to study or learn because it's easy to make addiction something shameful. And it enrages me. Ignorant courts? Yes, but also easier for the justice system to say, "You are a lesser human being and don't deserve any better." Criminalizing addiction is shameful, not addiction. Jails are not a place to get well, and not just from addiction, but mental illness too. There's plenty of things I get angry about, but the mental health/addiction situation makes me angry to tears. I've been watching Elementary since the first season, and Sherlock is certainly a unique person and the way he deals with his addiction is different than others. But it's been fascinating watching something like addiction discussed and presented in a mature and thoughtful way. But man, this season finale broke my heart. Addiction is cruel and relentless to not only those that suffer from it, but for the loved ones, too.
