  1. Jim True Frost has appeared on all 3 franchise shows, but I most remember him from his appearance on the season 18 episode Quit Claim (which also featured Mad Men's January Jones).
  2. A place to discuss all things Van Buren. I always have to remind myself that S. Epatha Merkerson was not a member of this show's original cast because she became such a mainstay. Her presence on the show was quite comforting to this viewer - especially during the not so great seasons. And I loved her story arc in the show's final season. So, what are your fave Van Buren moments?
  3. Ok, y'all are killing me with the snark, especially this: Take a bow, Eolivet. I am over here crying with laughter at this. Enjoyed this episode overall, EXCEPT... I am really over Papa Pope always winning. I loved Olivia yelling "Shut up!" at Fitz and Jake. And I laughed out loud when Olivia said Michael cares about Cyrus and thinks he's a good man? I hope the show doesn't think we should agree and be rooting for Cyrus and Michael to live happily ever after. I still think poor Ella needs to find a distant relative to live with. Cuz - as Cyrus himself noted - he's a stranger to his own child. Yeah - I didn't think Michael was going to make it to the next commercial break. Oh Lord, YES! Few things on this show drive me as crazy as this.
  4. Sam is the worst. No one will be mourning his disgusting ass. I do wonder if he'll find out about Annalise's affair with Nate. Not that it'll make me feel remotely sympathetic toward him; I just hate untended plot threads like that. Enjoyed this episode mostly because we've finally arrived at the infamous bonfire niht. Same here. It's predictable, the acting (save Viola) isn't great and the dialogue is meh. But I still watch every week. ETA: Me, too. My theory all season long has been that Bonnie was sent by Sam's first wife to break up Annalise and Sam's marriage and that she ended up falling for Sam. I had her pegged as Lila's killer because Lila found out about the real why and how Bonnie came to work for Annalise. Now, I feel like that theory is completely wrong, but who knows. Bonnie seems unhealthily devoted to Annalise, so you may be right, Turkish, about Bonnie killing Sam for her boss.
  5. I should be getting ready for work right now, but I’m seeing a lot here I want to react to (and, possibly, I just like to procrastinate) Never read Secret Life of Bees, but I didn’t like The Help at all. I can’t even say I hated it, because it was so boring, I couldn’t even bring myself to feel that strongly about it. I did, however, hate The Kite Runner. I kept seeing accolades for it, but when I read it I didn’t get it. Aside from the first few chapters, it’s boring and ridiculously tropey, with some stupidly heavy-handed dialogue. I felt the same way about Little Bee. In fact, the more time passes, the angrier that book and its White Savior Complex tendencies make me. This is why I never got the hate for Ginny. What was there to hate? She was such a non-entity of a character, I can’t remember one thing about her, except her pairing with Harry. Finally, on the subject of Game of Thrones, I have one friend who is telling me I simply must read that series, while another friend has told me she couldn’t make it through the first book because it’s extremely tropey and (her word) schlocky. What to do, what to do… ETA: YES! I thought I was alone in this!
  6. Speaking of Dortmund, they won - with some help from a Christoph Kramer own goal. Poor man. I want to give him a hug now. Meanwhile, I am starting to wonder if Everton are the Dortmund of the Premier League. They continue to play well in the Europa League, but remain inconsistent in their domestic competition.
  7. stillshimpy, IA with you about Keira and Brad. I really liked them and was glad she now has someone she can confide in who can really empathize with her time displacement plight. And yes yes yes to never buying her relationship with her husband. He was so boring!
  8. "Reunion" is on now. Intellectually, I know it's not the best episode, but I have always enjoyed it. ETA: I totally forgot that young Milo (the murder victim's son) was sleeping with his mother's killer, Tara!
  9. I am watching "Please Note We Are No Longer Accepting Letters of Recommendation From Henry Kissinger." I just realized that I have seen the ending of this episode at least 3 times, but this is the first time I've watched it from the beginning. Let's just say I'm less than impressed.
  10. But this is the show in which the Washington press corps was told that Jeanine Whatshername - not Olivia - was the president's mistress. And they swallowed this tall tale whole.
  11. Rebecca saying to Wes "He deserves to die" and "I had to kill him" is all red herring talk, right? I can't believe Frank & Laurel had sex on the front porch. Way to keep things discreet - lol Also, I need the show to retire the prison rape jokes and allusions. It's tired.
  12. Yep. This is a staple of all Shonda shows. It's beyond grating.
  13. This show is kind of terrible-lol How high is Rebecca's IQ? Because she's being incredibly stupid. Were the writers trying to tell us something by intercutting Wes & Rebecca's sex scene with that autopsy?
  14. "Face that launched a thousand ships" - I see what you did there, show. I so do not care about Fitz and his angst. When Tom was moaning to Olivia about how terrible she was to leave Fitz, I was rolling my eyes so hard. No matter how much they try to sell Fitz as sympathetic, I ain't never buyin' it. This episode was a first for me: I actually liked Olivia. I liked her comforting Abby. I liked her tricking Tom into telling the truth. I liked that she didn't back down from her father's threats. Let's have more of this Olivia, please. I think it was supposed to be hot. That's clearly what the show was going for. It just made Fitz look and sound creepy.
  15. Both? They are definitely football's Jekyll & Hyde this season.
  16. The only thing that offended me about the opening scene was Fitz being in it. Because he remains the worst. PTC folk need to learn how to change channels.
  17. I just wish the show had shown us why these two are even attracted to each other. It makes no sense the way they're currently portraying it.
  18. Thought this was an interesting article. How to Get Away with Murder and the Geeking of TV Drama
  19. Too much Katrina. But when Ichabod said he was a criminal profiler, I did wonder if Abby had gotten him a Netflix subscription so he could stream all 9 seasons of the X-Files.
  20. I usually enjoy Manchester derbies, but today's fell flat to me. I turned it off out of boredom well before Chris Smalling's red card.
  21. Magic Johnson and Mia Hamm and her husband Nomar Garciaparra are also part of the ownership group. Supposedly, the team's going to be called Los Angeles FC. They've already got the lafc.com website up. In playoff news, the Red Bulls won a second playoff game at home. I don't even know what to say to that.
  22. Because she's a female character on a Shonda show. I know right? Sad to say even a cold-blooded assassin like Jake is more appealing than Fitz.
  23. I'm a fan of most of Shondaland's casting - for leads, regulars and guest stars. I mean, just in first few eps of HTGAWM, I've seen Elisabeth Perkins and Jason Gedrick, both of whom I've always enjoyed.
