  1. CousinOliver, my sincere condolences for your loss. I don't mind the occasional cheesy Christmas movie but two months worth of them is OTT. I'm amazed that the ratings for these things are good enough for Hallmark to schedule them every year! ETA: The scheduling silliness is doubly annoying since Hallmark has a movie channel to which it can easily relegate these cheesy holiday films. In fact, they're showing Christmas movies on their movie channel, so I don't know why we have to lose GG for two months.
  2. I love the Scarlet Letter, but I never think of it as romantic. It's reads more like a slow-burn psychological thriller to me.
  3. My new theory about Bonnie is that she's been planted at Annalise's firm by Sam's first wife to cause trouble in the Anni/Sam marriage. Perhaps while on the mission to sow dissension in the House of Keating, she fell for Sam? I haven't worked through all the particulars, but I figure it's as plausible as anything the show's given us to go on so far.
  4. Two inconsistent things about the COTW. When David, the defendant/death row inmate, was rehashing his potential alibi for Annalise, my friend pointed out to me that if this was an old case, these would all be details that Annalise already knew and would have investigated. Also, if Annalise was his original attorney, wouldn't she have known Judge Millstone had presided over it. That seemed to be a surprise to her, which I found odd.
  5. Wes annoyed me so much in this episode. I really wanted Annalise to tell him to sit the eff down and stop making demands. Well, she didn't really "win" the Bomb Mom case; her client just skipped out on her. But I take your point.

    Divergent

I'll probably read Allegiant too - just to complete the awfulness trifecta.
  7. Fitz is such a waste of space. How does he let himself get coached/conned by Rowan of all people? Loser. Pretty much. I've not ever really cared who Olivia ended up with, but I am now just sad that the show has come to this. There was a time when the show was about more than who would win Olivia's heart, right? At this point, the show is just Gossip Girl in DC - with less interesting fashion. I adore Joe Morton, but I need Rowan to be G-O-N-E. I need his enemies to band together and waste his pontificating ass.
  8. The MLS Cup Playoffs are upon us. And for once, my New York Red Bulls won a playoff game at home.
  9. I felt bad for KC and their fans having to watch the Giants celebrate the win on their (KC's) home turf. Bumgarner was a beast. Knew very little about him before the playoffs, but he has earned all the plaudits he'll be getting in the next few days.
  10. My .02 - I abandoned all the previous Shonda shows I'd watched (except Scandal, which I continue to hate watch and for the live tweeting). But so far, I am sticking with HTGAWM. It's not the best written show. It still has all the things about Shonda shows that bug me (the plot-drivenness, the lack of character development, the OMG moments deployed for their own sake). But I continue to watch because I simply adore Viola Davis. I'm just mesmerized by her performance. Also, I figure I can stick it out since the season is only 15 episodes long. Not sure how much that helps you, OjaiHoney.
  11. "I find yoga neither soothing nor relaxing." Don't ever change Ichabod. Enjoyed this episode, but I could have done with more Irving and Jenny. Kid Corbin is adorable.
  12. JustaPerson, I really enjoy Real-Bayern matches. The Champions League semi-final from two seasons ago - when Bayern won on penalties - was a great match, even though it ended in heartbreak for my team. I'd love to see them play each other again in the UCL.
  13. Not a big Robin van Persie fan, but I cannot express how happy I am that his equalizer for Man United today wiped the smug right off Jose Mourinho's face. I have no doubt that Chelsea will win the EPL title this season, but it's nice that they won't get to have everything their way. Everton winning today - and Lukaku scoring - made me so so happy!
  14. On re-watch, I noticed that Bonnie was definitely giving Sam the let-me-comfort-you eyes after his fight with Annalise. As for Frank & Laurel, I'm totally open to the idea that my read of their relationship may be way off. I think it's a problem with the writing if it's not clear what dynamic the show's trying to convey with those two.
  15. As a Madrid fan, I am super pleased with my team right now. A midweek win at Anfield and victory in the Clasico - not a bad week's work.
  16. Hava, I'd like to believe that Frank is mostly motivated to pursue Laurel because she seems resistant to him. But the show seems to be writing it - and the actor is playing it - like he's falling for her i.e., he was a cad before, but Laurel is so awesome, she'll tame him. Which is exactly the kind of stupid cliché Shonda shows subsist on.
  17. I'd love for Olivia to realize that Rowan is responsible for both Jerry and Harrison's deaths and then stealthily plot her revenge on dear ol' dad, all while making him think she still trusts and believes him. Alas, it's a Shonda show, so I know the women will never win.
  18. A day in the life Tom Verica (Sam), who also serves as a director and EP on Scandal.
  19. I hadn't even thought of that, but it'd certainly add some more layers of fucked-uped-ness to that marriage.
  20. I've been feeling this way for the past few episodes, but last night confirmed it for me: I like Bonnie. Her "Bitch please" to Frank cracked me up. And I love her frosty glares. Can't wait to see what crazy lies beneath her layers.
  21. I have zero interest in Huck and his family angst. I continue to be amazed that the writers still want me to take Huck (and Quinn for that matter) seriously as characters.
  22. I saw folks speculating about this on Twitter. Did we get a hint about this during the episode? If so, I missed it.
  23. She has to be in order for this plot to fly. Kind of like how Cyrus has to be an idiot in order for that prostitute mole plot to work on him. It's one of my lasting frustrations with this show. I could not bring myself to care about the case of the week. My friend actually texted me during the ep asking "who's the dead person?" I was glad Jake taunted Fitz about being on the island with Olivia. Fitz remains the worst.
