  1. I saw some of the Portugal/Albania game. And I wasn't all that surprised that Albania won.

Well, damn. I was hoping the final would go long enough for me to see some of it when I got home from work. Apparently, Cilic wasn't having it! Congrats to him on the win and to Nishikori for his run to the final. I was rooting for Kei, but would have been happy no matter who won. It's just nice to see some new(er) blood out there vying for the GS titles.

Congrats to Serena on winning. Eighteen major titles is an incredible achievement. Really wish I could see the men's final today, but I will be @ work so will just have to follow it online.
  4. Dorothy's "Sometimes I just love to hug my mommy" always makes me laugh.
  5. I like that "why dunnit" phrase. Mike Logan is actually the reason I started watching CI. But I ended up enjoying the Goren/Eames episodes more than his. I didn't dislike Nichols, but his episodes couldn't really hold a candle to Goren/Eames' or even Logan episodes.
  6. I adore Viola Davis, so I'm here for her. That is, with the complete understanding that this is a Shonda Rhimes show, meaning I will be disappointed.
  7. Sept. 25 is the date of the S4 premiere. I will probably watch, if only for the fun of following along with Twitter.
  8. That's a good point, xaxat. They could have fleshed out those characters more before killing them off.
  9. That's one of the reasons I love that movie and have seen it a good 10-12 times (I should just buy the damn thing already!)
  10. I have enjoyed the first two Hunger Games movies. That said, I still felt that the films lacked the bite of the social critique - especially about class - that was present in the books.

Me, too. And I say that as a massive Federer fan. It's nice to see some younger players get in the final. I don't really care who wins; I just want to see a good, competitive match.
  12. WendyCR72, I haven't seen the whole series. I've watched the some of the early seasons and some of the later seasons (usually out of order). I think the way the stories are told - giving us the pieces at the beginning, and slowly bringing them together - is very clever.
  13. I was a big Mothership fan, but it took me years to warm to this show. In fact, I only really began watching the show consistently in re-runs. Now, I love it. Been watching ION's marathon of season 1 episodes today, and these episodes hold up quite well. The stories are strong and the perps are suitably creepy. Among my favorites - "Smothered" and "The Good Doctor." I love love love these two characters so much. The show lost a little something when they left.
  14. The show would be so much more interesting if they moved away from Olivia's belief that she wears the white hat. It's so incongruous with what we've seen of her character.
  15. And don't forget, he blamed his affair with Amanda Tanner on Olivia. Who says there's no character consistency on this show!

What a shame for Peng. I hope she is ok. Serena really showed no mercy with Makarova. Is she a lock to win over Wozniacki?

I had the same question. Is the move to Monday a permanent thing for the men's final?
  18. I recoiled from and was traumatized by the trailer for Obsessed a few years back. Does that count?
  19. I feel the same way. I know procedurals are all over TV, but this show worked best for me when Olivia & Co. handled a case of the week, with periodic interruptions for White House intrigue. That was a hell of a lot more plausible - not to mention sustainable - than the writers trying to top themselves every week with B613 hijinks.
  20. I like Ali Larter. I want to like Crystal. I did briefly in the pilot. But her character is incredibly one-note. The fact that her one-noteness stands out on this show full of one-note characters is quite telling.
  21. I get why they had to spend time with the Colonel and Ana - to set up the climax of the episode - but I found myself zoning out during their scenes. Martin's starting to spiral, and I'm sure killing that one guy with VX and seeing Ana die aren't going to help his mental health. Morris Chestnut's character is the main vehicle for the "Who is Martin Odum" plotline at this time. I sure hope that changes next week. His character feels isolated from the rest of the show.
  22. I don't hate him, but I don't find him attractive, and he's never done anything for me as an actor. It's not, but it houses a lot of things that I'm sure none of us would want made public - records of purchases, email addresses, pictures (yes, even the non-nude ones!)
  23. I loved the first movie, but only thought the other two were just ok - and way, WAY too long. ETA: Whoever said it upthread, I totally agree that I don't get the big deal about Casablanca.
  24. Most of the time I laughed at the B613 stuff. It felt like the writers were trolling the audience with that nonsense. And don't get me started on the tiresome Fitz/Olivia romance. I know the show and the writers think it's the height of sexiness to have a man degrading both his girlfriend and his wife, but I promise them it's not.
