  1. Guess I was psychic when I created the media thread yesterday - it was announced today that manslaughter charges will be brought again six people (including David Duckenfield) over the Hilsborough Disaster.
  2. The entire Crooked Media lineup is really fantastic, though when I get behind on my podcasts, Pod Save America and Pod Save the World take precedence over the rest.
  3. He is my favorite contestant of all-time, and so I am relieved to hear he's as great of a human being as he appeared to be on the show. I do wonder what exactly they'll do for his (and Cleen I guess) returns though - for Bubba and Made Rich, they made a big deal about how the challenge was going to be something the returning artist was eliminated for the first time around. But both Tommy and Cleen didn't get eliminated until the finals, so maybe they'll do something they ended up in the bottom for the first time around?
  4. ESPN is now releasing a 30 for 30 podcast series, and the first episode dropped today. Not sure how many they're going to do initially (I feel like I saw five for the first season, but now I can't figure out where I saw that number). First episode is "The Trials of Dan and Dave" about the failed decathlon Reebok campaign, and it's been really great so far.
  5. Sigourney Weaver as Ulga steals the whole thing for me: "I think there is crack in statue!" "Lady, that's just his butt"
  6. I'm not sure if it's "stupid" (ok, it probably is) but after discovering Heartbreakers is on Amazon Prime, I watched it for the 100th time last night. I find everyone so hilarious in that movie, including Ray Liotta and Gene Hackman (two people I don't normally think of as comedians).
  7. Leviathan? If so: "No more conning! No more! If you're gonna be my wife, you're gonna live a respectable life chopping cars!"
  8. Exactly, and then even after Miranda says that, the saleswoman still comes out later with a white dress.
  9. First thing that popped in my head was The Avengers (the shitting Uma Thurman/Ralph Fiennes/Sean Connery movie) and The Avengers (the Marvel movie).
  10. I will throw in the moment that actually legitmately made me cry when watching an SVU episode - the end of Transgender Bridge when Darius gets convicted and his mother bursts into tears. That one punched me right in the gut, because his mother sounded so anguished.
  11. One of my favorite lines in the entire series is when Miranda is at the dress shop and tell the woman there, "I said no white, no ivory, nothing that says virgin. I have a child. The jig is up." Real talk, Miranda's wedding is my idea wedding - low key, surrounded by friends, and nothing too over the top. And speaking of Miranda, I loved this article over at Manrepeller last week: If Sex and the City Came out in 2017, Miranda Would be the Protagonist.
  12. Same here. I already thought the "Between the scenes" remarks Trevor made on Monday about getting pulled over were pretty powerful, but last night wrecked me.
  13. If this twist is all a way for , then I am all for this twist.
  14. The Faculty "So how did he die?" "He choked on some pie." "Oh, c'mon; SERIOUSLY?"
  15. Cry Baby! "I love a woman who eats raw meat!"
  16. Carol "It's not about disrespect; it's just gas!"
  17. When I was a kid, I desperately wanted Clarissa Darling's room, including her ability to make her own personalized video games. As an adult, all I want is Carrie Bradshaw's shoe collection.
  18. I think Shep thought Beau was insinuating that Austen said Shep offered to loan him [Austen] money. Because Beau starts talking about the money part of it, and Shep immediately yelled, "What? Loan him money; I never offered him money!" One thing I will say is that while I haven't necessarily thought one way or the other about Austen so far, I give him a lot of credit for immediately believing Chelsea and not letting Shep off the hook with his "I was drunk, it was a test, etc" list of excuses he was giving. He seems a little boring, but I think he's probably a genuinely good guy. However, I'm not sure I've ever heard a sadder statement on tv than Craig's, "I know Shep is going to try and sleep with all my girlfriends, and I've had to accept that to be his friend." I like that Shep always blames his house as being the reason he drinks and parties too much. Sure bro, it's the house that forces you to go out drinking every night...
  19. I only started watching the show because the Watch What Crappens guys kept saying how entertaining it was. The one life lesson I am taking away from this is that when I want to "keep conversations light", I'll just hop on the elliptical machine to talk.
  20. I don't have much to add to all the delightful comments, I only want to say that I will now be using "That's impossible; I don't eat carbs! I'm on a keto diet!" when defending myself in any situation. I think it will go over really well at work.
  21. Is it Dandelion? If so: "I took the liberty of ironing your homework!"
  22. Through the anonymity of the internet, I will admit my secret shame tv crush. I will watch every season of Ink Master just because I've thought Chris Nunez has been hot since the Miami Ink days (I also like the show, but he helps). But in a less-shameful crush, my love for Hasan Minhaj grows every day. His new special on Netflix was the icing on the cake, but I also love every one of his Daily Show segments. And shallowly, that beard looks gooooooood on him. YUM:
  23. At the nail salon I go to, they play movies during the day. Usually when I go, they play light movies, but when I was there last time, they were watching The Imitation Game. I had never seen it and by the time I got to the end, I was full on crying at the drying station while everyone else looked at me like I was a lunatic. I'm not entirely positive I can ever go back, but wow, that was one hell of a movie.
  24. I am normally not this shallow (who am I kidding; yes I am), but if Peter and Josiah don't work out, Rachel can send them my way. Peter is hot like fire, and Josiah is hot AND has my kind of humor - I laughed with him, rather than at him (such a rarity for this show) when he started talking about that doll and then in the end tag when he didn't know how to react to the other contestant's freestyle and just said ".....Hm. Huh. Ok" Rachel might be poised to be one of my favorite bachelorettes ever - she was funny and completely charming, and as a bonus, I loved her dress.
  25. Brooklyn Nine Nine UO: I love Gina and think she's hilarious.
