  1. I find myself singing "Reproduction" to myself every now and then. "Make my staaaaaaaaaamen go bezerk!" Still holds up.
  2. Taran was also on the most recent live episode of How Did This Get Made and let it drop that during the Russell Crowe episode, Russell kept "suggesting" that the King Henry sketch end with him making a cunnilingus joke to Aidy Bryant. Taran said literally everyone shot him [Russell] down, but he still tried to get it in anyway, and that if you watch the sketch again, you can see Aidy bolt away from Russell to prevent him from making whatever joke it was. So, um, guessing he won't be back to host any time soon.
  3. It was a pretty uneven episode (I'm feeling the loss of Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider), but Alec's "I know you hate this word Mike, but ABORT!" made me lose my shit. It got lost in the laughter, but I thought it was one of the funniest parts of the cold open.
  4. With Emma Stone popping up in the monologue, I found myself wishing that she had been the host instead. I don't mind Ryan Gosling cracking up once or twice, but doing it in places where nothing funny even appeared to be happening (like in the monologue and the band sketch) was really starting to annoy me - I found myself starting to compare him to Chris Hemsworth, someone who also had sketches with ridiculous premises (the sketch where he played a female version of himself) and a sketch go unpredictably off the rails (the live chicken spaceman sketch), but he was still able to keep it together. Ryan Gosling is clearly much better in the pre-taped sketches, since Papyrus was great this time, and the Santa Baby was the best sketch from his first hosting gig. Alex Moffatt is my unsung hero of the show. I'm going to need more of his Chuck Schumer and Al Franken, and I found Guy Who Just Bought a Boat hysterical, but that's probably because i have met (and sadly, dated) many of those guys.
  5. Episode Description: Darryl encourages mid-life Alex to get back into the dating scene following his divorce; young Alex has trouble making friends after his embarrassing moment at the school dance.
  6. When I was younger and thought my parents would freak out if I ever got a tattoo, I ended up getting a lot of piercings instead (the tamest version of rebellion), and so earrings have always been the jewelry I have the most of as well. And since some of them are a pain in the ass to change, I usually have to look around for awhile to make sure it's something unique that I LOVE - because one thing about my earrings is that I don't like to have the same ones as everyone else. Though, as it turns out, my 70-year old mother currently has more tattoos than I do, so I guess I could've slowed my roll on piercings if I'd wanted to.
  7. Episode Description: In the series opener, a 14-year-old boy living in Chicago in 1991, was on top of the world inventing cool things and celebrating the Bulls' first championship, until his mom moved him to Los Angeles.
  8. On the brink of Empire Entertainment’s 20th anniversary, Lucious is making his first public appearance after the explosion in Las Vegas, while all members of the Lyon family, as well as Lucious’ nurse, Claudia, have their own interests in Lucious regaining his physical and mental faculties. Crossover episode with Star Season 2, Episode 1.
  9. This is more of a PSA (but could also be a tip I guess), but Kat Von D Shade and Light palates have been showing up at TJ Maxx's across the US for under $20. So if you've been waiting to get one, run to TJ Maxx.
  10. I laughed for a ridiculously long time at "I'm worried Sonja Morgan has a drinking problem." It's not often two of my guilty pleasures meet up, but when they do, it's perfection (see also: Sarah Paulson meeting Dorinda on WWHL)
  11. I love that just like Serial and Making a Murderer, we don't actually find out every single thing about the case - Im dying to know what exactly the coach said. I thought it was going to come out that the coach was actually dating MacKenzie and the mom, so they actually did do an effective misdirect on me.
  12. For some reason, the seriousness in which everyone kept saying "At Nana's party" made me cry laughing every time someone said it.
  13. It killed me that the only gun they wouldn't part with was Nicole Kidman's gun from Cold Mountain.
  14. I loved that no matter what "Sliding Door" situation they were in, Abbi and Ilana ended up being friends. I also loved the little pieces they dropped in for us, like Abbi getting Ilana a catering job (which is the suit Ilana ends up wearing in the S1 wedding episode). I was damn near in tears when Ilana agreed to take $20 from the dancers on the subway after she found out they all went to NYU.
  15. No, Allison Pill is the chef with the pixie cut married to Sarah Paulson's character. Billie Lourde is Carrie Fisher's daughter (she plays Winter, the babysitter).
  16. In case anyone is curious, here are the episodes the nominated actors submitted: -Alec submitted the Melissa McCarthy episode -Vanessa submitted The Rock's episode -Leslie submitted the Tom Hanks episode -Kate submitted the Dave Chapelle episode, which is also the episode they chose to submit for Best Variety Sketch series Vanessa and Kate picked great episodes to showcase themselves; Leslie didn't do a ton in the Tom Hanks episode, but I'm guessing she picked it because she did her piece on internet trolls during WU. For Alec, I'm actually baffled he didn't pick the episode he hosted, especially because his episode was great.
  17. I usually have good experiences with Dr Jart products, so when I saw the Rubber Moisturizer mask at Sephora, I decided to splurge and give it a shot. BIG MISTAKE. It caused me to break out, with these really painful under-the-skin zits that I just have to deal with until they surface. One of the worst purchases I've made in awhile.
  18. Chloe Bennett posted on her instagram today about why she changed her last name from "Wang" to "Bennett"
  19. Cobie Smulders was in The Avengers with Robert Downey Jr, who was in Tropic Thunder with Tom Cruise, who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon Next Up: Leslie Jones
  20. I wonder if we get Gal Gadot at some point (if not the season premiere).
  21. The focus of the Katrina season has now changed - they will now be using the book Five Days at Memorial as the basis for the season. That's what I had been hoping they'd do since the Katrina season was announced, so I'm glad for the shift. I also highly recommend the book.
