  1. I know the "I love you all. Class dismissed" is basically the iconic Feeny line, my favorite of his (that I still repeat to myself often) has always been "Friendship is a real gift. It's given with no expectations and no gratitude is needed, not between real friends." I've always loved that sentiment, and when I think of my closest friends, that line always pops into my head. William Daniels just gave so much to the role, and is as integral to the show to me as Cory was. I do remember seeing an interview with Michael Jacobs a little while back, and he said that for a few years, the kids always assumed William Daniels was British, just because of his proper speech and the tone of his voice, which I found hilarious.
  2. I owe you a thank you and a "thanks for making sure I do nothing else this weekend" - I had no idea that Rider Strong had a podcast, and I spent most of my weekend listening to it. I'm getting a total kick out of hearing "Shawn Hunter" discuss literature. The Flowers in the Attic episode was hysterical.
  3. He did - they've been working together recently (ex - Amazing Spiderman 2 Soundtrack), so he must've come by for an assist. I'll admit, I don't entirely "get" Anna Kendrick - probably a mix of me thinking she comes off as inauthentic AND that the stupid Cups song she sings was overplayed on the radio this summer and drove me nuts. But with that said, I thought she was very competent. They had her sing a few too many times, but overall, it was pretty good.
  4. This was my second favorite old-school challenge (all-time favorite challenge is still the original Battle of the Seasons). I lost so much respect for Emily on this challenge though - I always thought of her as a bad-ass who stood her ground, and to watch her leave because her boyfriend got kicked off was so depressing to me. Especially because you know she would've been smart enough to knock over the puzzle after they'd finished it. I liked this challenge too because it was back when it wasn't all about strength in order to win. I hate that because most of the cast members got dumber, we had to suffer through the elimination of puzzle solving (and anything that isn't brute strength) being eliminated. Even look at those final three men - other than Mark, with the way the challenge is structured now, I seriously doubt Colin and Jamie would make it to the end. Especially Colin, since he had a sprained ankle for most of the challenge. I did like Colin's blog he kept around the time of the challenge - I wish I still had the link, because I remember there being a lot of inside info he put in there. Now see, while I don't love it, I don't consider that cheating. It wasn't against the rules for them to look at the puzzle, and one of the women should've been smart enough to knock it over (and as I said above, I bet Emily would've knocked it over in a heartbeat). The fact that they didn't think of that is their own fault. I wouldn't have been mad if the men's team finished the puzzle first and the women looked at theirs.
  5. I hope Darienne was funnier in her reads and we just didn't see it, because from what was shown, I thought Bianca was the clear winner, with Joselyn (surprisingly) as a close second.
  6. It's such a childish joke (so I don't know what this says about me), but I lost it when Pam farted in the box she and Cheryl were sharing. As did the "Is that the man that tea-bagged you?" "BEAN BAGGED MOTHER!" lines.
  7. He probably didn't mention it so he didn't kick the guy when he was already down - Tom is pretty sensitive to that kind of stuff; he probably didn't think it was worth mentioning since BDW was already leaving.
  8. Me too! Beck would have been PERFECT; his AT&T commercial character is basically a perfect WU anchor. I wonder if Lorne is just looking for something very specific in his anchors, or else just gives weight to the Head Writer if they audition. Because it still boggles my mind that Jason Suedekis auditioned for WU twice and didn't get it either time(once for the spot left open by Jimmy, once for the spot left open by Tina); I feel like he absolutely would have nailed the anchor persona. While I didn't think all the sketches landed this week, I can appreciate that they were trying some new things. Dyke and Fats had me rolling - something about the name "Chuberella Fasterelli (or it was something close to that)" just killed me. Between this and "do it in my twin bed", I think Aidy and Kate are excellent writing partners. Not enough Bobby though, and for that matter, not enough Taran. They are my two favorite guys by far and can carry sketches in their own ways, so when you sideline them, it makes it extra noticeable.
  9. I actually bet that with the "surprise" double elimination the first week, plus Billy Dee leaving last night, means that they don't end up kicking anyone off during the partner switch week.
  10. I feel like I was watching different dances than the judges. I just can't reconcile that James, Cody and Charlie ended up with the same scores. I actually thought everyone was scored very generously, except for Charlie and Drew. I knew we'd be getting the first 10 of the season tonight, because of the way they were throwing 9s out like candy at the beginning of the episode, but I didn't think Meryl necessarily deserved one point off a perfect score. Something about her leaves me cold - it looks like she's thinking about every step when she's dancing and never loses herself in the dance. It doesn't look natural to me. Whereas I think Charlie has personality to spare - he seems like the more natural and personable of the two. I won't lie, I absolutely teared up at Amy's dance. And it's shallow, but I thoroughly enjoyed shirtless Tony. I had the feeling Billy Dee might remove himself from the competition; he looked like he was in pain last week. It did seem like he had a very nice partnership with Emma - she's impressed me the past two seasons; I hope she gets a contendor next season. I do have to say, I wish I could see Mark dance jive full out - that's his specialty, right? I can tell he's holding back for Candice's sake, but I'd love to see him dance full out with another pro - maybe Karina?
