Exactly. And she even said "I'm living and working in LA now". If that's not confirmation, I really don't know what is.

"The Colbert Report": Week of 6/9/14
Princess Sparkle replied to trow125's topic in The Colbert Report [V]
I was in absolute tears at "Fistler" being Hitler fisting, and then flashing up all the candidates with "historical" names. For some reason, the inclusion of "Harriet Tubman" was what put me over the edge. -
They do say that in the first episode - Samantha calls him Mr. Big at the party when she's describing him to Carrie, and after that, Carrie just calls him "Big."
-
I had completely forgot they had talking to the camera segments unt I rewatched. So glad they dropped that. On rewatch, I actually see the initial appeal of Big- I never got it the first time around, but I do now. I think when I originally watched, I still thought of him as Mike Logan, and I couldn't get rid of that thought. And because it can't be said enough - Carrie's hair was horrible! However, season 1 through most of season 3 is where I really like Carrie, so I'm going to enjoy a run of episodes where I don't have to scream SHUT UP CARRIE! I'm actually really not looking forward to the next episode - it makes Samantha look so desperate. In the first few episodes, they made her look extra pathetic.

I've been waiting for awhile to get this UO off my chest: I still like Tom Cruise. Don't give a shit about his personal life, and I enjoy the hell out of his movies. The man knows how to make a good action movie. And my other deeply UO: I don't get the appeal of Ryan Gosling. He's not the hottest man in Hollywood to me and I don't get all the hype about his supposed "amazing personality" - every interview I've seen him in, he sounds like he's full of himself, has an extremely affected personality, and like he would exhausting to be around.

This will definetley peg me as a child of the 90s, but my movie star crush will always be Leonardo DiCaprio, and he just keeps getting better with age. But for the more modern actors - Chris Evans is gorgeous, and Dominic Cooper is just beautiful.
-
I honestly think the closest thing we have right now to a movie star, that's more in line with how stars were back in the 50s, is Leonardo DiCaprio. He is never going to be anything but A+ list, everyone knows who he is, he can draw people to his movies, and he's only getting more handsome the older he gets. I have no better way to put it than he just *looks* like a movie star, and when he's on-screen, you just can't take your eyes off him. MMV of course, but if I had to pick a modern movie star, it's him hands down.

Anytime Disney would play (which sadly, is not often anymore), Brink!, Motocrossed, Zenon and Smart House. They don't make em like that anymore. Sports movies are my guilty pleasures, enough that I'll even watch the dumbest ones. I know every line from every Mighty Ducks movie, I freaking love Wildcats, and I think I watched Ladybugs (with Rodney Dangerfield and Jackee) at least once a week growing up. Also, a movie in which I think I may be the only person that likes it - Hello Again, with Shelly Long and Gabriel Byrne. Oh, and If Looks Could Kill with Richard Grieco. I will stop and watch those if I ever see them on tv.
-
Maybe she had a conflict when the auditions were in Chicago (or couldn't get through the line), and so she went to the LA ones instead? That's what I always assume happens in cases like that.
-
Actually, he didn't make it through, so at least we're spared seeing it again.
-
I am actually appalled they keep using Bieber. I mean, he didn't even talk in this one. Just have Cat redo the intros - they don't even say the name of the team, so you'd only need to get 3 - 4 shots.

YES! This drives me bonkers! If a dancer is fantastic, I don't want to see the judges making an "ooh! That's impressive!" face, I want to see the actual dance.

All Episodes Discussion: The Daily Double

I'm so jealous you got that rerun! That case is hysterical. His imitation of her on Antiguian weed was fantastic.

I know intellectually that Keenan should move on, but I just have such a soft spot for him. I'm probably showing my age here, but I grew up with him on All That (as well as Keenan and Kel), so since about the age of 9, I've seen him consistently doing sketch comedy on tv. Which should make me tired of him, but for some reason, it's just the opposite - I like seeing someone "make good" if you will. I feel a little bad for the newbies this year - the cast was just so bloated that many of them barely got an opportunity to make any impression. I feel the worst for John Milsner and Brooks. I do wish that Tim Robinson had gotten another season in the cast as opposed to kicking him back to the writers room, because I actually thought he was really funny. That "it's a z-shirt!" sketch from last season never fails to crack me up.

Another week, another ABDC alum in the group competition - two references if you include Jaja auditioning. All it's doing is making me wish ABDC was still around. This episode was a mixed bag for me. None of the contemporary ladies stood out to me at all, but I thought the jazz-funk, Jaja, ballerina and popper were all fantastic. I don't entirely know how I feel about Fik-shun dancing with the popper during her audition - I hope she knows him, otherwise it just looked like he was trying to pull focus during her audition; though she was clearly up for the challenge. Loved seeing Legacy again, even if I didn't recognize him at first. Though, seeing the battle between Fik-shun, Cyrus and Legacy made me wish Twitch was there so he could school them all. I don't remember Christina Applegate crying at the drop of a hat when she's judged before. Maybe I'm just an uncultured, heartless rube, but none of the dances moved me to tears

I was confused about one thing - did I miss a line about why Gordon was so against hiring Cameron? He said "NO" pretty emphatically upon meeting her, and it can't be because of her sleeping with Joe (because he didn't know that yet), and it can't be because he's opposed to women in the field, since his wife is an engineer. Was it her age? Cameron has the last name of "Howe" and "Clark" on imdb, so I thought she was going to be related to him and that's why he didn't want to work with her, but that never came up. Maybe they were originally going to be related and they dropped that plot point, but left in his initial "no way!"? I got a little bored at times, but I'm willing to give it another episode or two for me to get into it.

Sex and the City Fashions: Let's Mock the Clothes!
Princess Sparkle replied to ShellSeeker's topic in Sex And The City
Two moments: 1. Those ugly shoes that Charlotte was letting that shoe guy caress her feet for. I do not know why she fell in love with those things. 2. That green mini-skirt Carrie wears when she meets Big (after escaping from Aiden's cabin). The one that looked totally normal in the front, but then had a big frilly white doily on the ass when she turned around. I mean, seriously? With Carrie, I thought when they got it wrong, it was REALLY wrong, but when they got it right, she looked fantastic. SJP has such a unique face to begin with, and when they styled her correctly, she looked gorgeous. I loved all her outfits when she was with the politician, and I thought all her Paris outfits were fantastic - I can only dream of the Versace (I think?) she wore when the Aleks stood her up. I think the lowest point for all the women was the LA episodes - they all looked terrible. Well, except maybe for Miranda; she looked awful in season 1. This seems like a good time to leave this here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/amyodell/30-of-carrie-bradshaws-most-ridiculous-outfits I agree with all but #29 - that dress is fab. -
I hate with a passion what they did to Aleks. I know they had to make him unlikable so that we'd want Carrie to end up with Big, but the Aleks we first met was not the one at the end of the series. I mean, originally, the man goes out of his way to meet Carrie's friends, defends her column to his friends, and by the end, we're supposed to think this guy can't be polite to her friends at all and can't figure out why she'd want to go to a party celebrating her writing? I feel like, perhaps, they were going to let Carrie stay with Aleks, then decided they couldn't end the show with her being with anyone other than Big, so they had to quickly make Aleks into a jerk. Before they made him a total manchild, my favorite SATC guy was Steve. And even though he broke up with her through post-it note, I will always love Berger - if only for "Nice hat!"

The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis is my all-time favorite episode. So many hysterical parts in that one. "We are going to hit you where it hurts." "Your dick" "What? No bro, not his dick" The Waitress is Getting Married is a close second for me, all for Dee's line reading of "Yeah? Well I ain't giving you shit you old bitch." I also love The Gang Gives an Intervention. For whatever reason, when they're at the actual intervention and everyone starts using "intervention" as an accusatory verb, it cracks me up. And then I just lose it when Charlie salts Gail the Snail. The entire "blackface" conversation in Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth is freaking hysterical. "See? James Earl Jones is doing a great blackface!" "James Earl Jones HAS a black face!"

King Of The Hill - General Discussion

I always love the volunteer firefighters episode, where we see the story from Boomhauer's perspective, and everyone else talks like him, but he speaks completely intelligibly. Hilarious. -
Opening Credits over the Years
Princess Sparkle replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
I hate the S6 credits, just because I thought it was extremely douchy to have Ade and Phillip (even though I like both) in them over Evan, considering they had the other top 4 dancers in the opening. I mean, I know Nigel didn't really want Evan in the top 4 to begin with, but I found it asinine they didn't include him. -
Thought I'd start a topic for all the fabulous guest stars the show had over the years. My all-time favorite will always be John Laroquette, since you can tell his just relished the role and the writers loved writing for him. But Michael Emmerson was also excellent and creeped me out for YEARS after his appearance on the show. Alfre Woodard and Beah Richards were also excellent. An under-rated favorite of mine is also Rider Strong - he played a character who's father murdered his mother and he was the only witness. He gets scared of sending his father to jail, and changes his story to make it look like the murder was accidental. Helen gets frustrated and charges him with felony murder. Eleanor ends up being able to convince her she's being punitive because she's angry at the son for letting the dad get away with murder, so she ends up letting him plead to perjury. She and Eleanor are both sure the judge will be lenient since he's a kid trying to save his dad, but the judge ends up giving him the max (10 years). Such a good episode.

I think Kelli Williams got such the shit end of the stick with the role - the initial stabbing by George Vogelman was shocking, but they took it way to far with having basically the same thing happen to her again twice. And the more she got involved with Bobby, the whinier she got.
