In a recent example, apparently Barkhad Abdi adlibbed "Look at me! I am the captain now", which is pretty damn great. And in a similar vein, Tommy Lee Jones adlibbed "I don't care" in The Fugitive. Madeline Khan adlibbed the whole "Flames...flames! On the side of my face!", which is my favorite part of Clue. David Duchovney's adlib to Ben Stiller accidentally repeating "But why male models" in Zoolander always cracks me up. "Are you kidding? I just told you a minute ago" My all-time favorite adlib is probably Robin Williams' story about his wife's farting in Good Will Hunting. Seeing Matt Damon laugh so hard that he's crying, yet still trying to keep it together for the scene is fantastic.

Detective Mike Logan: Hot-Tempered Alpha Bad Ass
Princess Sparkle replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Law & Order
So, I will say this about Mike - I never found him attractive (please don't stone me Scorpio!), but I have always found Chris Noth to be incredibly charismatic. Whether it's as Mike Logan, Mr Big, or Peter Florrick, there is something about him that's inherently watchable. And much as I like Lennie, I actually think my favorite partnership was Logan/Ceretta. I don't know why, I just liked the two together. Lennie & Logan snark was a little too much; like one snark and one sincere-ish partner. -
Season 5: Say It Ain't So! Good-bye Detective Michael Logan
Princess Sparkle replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Law & Order
I never thought I'd say this, but I actually thought SVU handled this much better with Alternate. I'll admit though, I can't remember if the perp in Switch was faking or not like there were on SVU, but at the very least, Cynthia Nixon was a much better actress. -
S11.E07: Top 20 Perform, 2 Eliminated
Princess Sparkle replied to Bella's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
They've been really hit or miss on when they're making them dance after moving to one night a week. I remember being so mad that Nico got eliminated last season without ever getting to dance a solo to help save himself. -
King Of The Hill - General Discussion
Princess Sparkle replied to ari333's topic in King Of The Hill
Fun with Jane and Jane has so many of my favorite lines (and is one of my favorite episodes): Bill: Why does everything I love run away from meeee? Peggy: Luann, do you why I play games with you? Luann: Because I challenge you with my intellectual. Luann: Will you tell me if I have to go to the bathroom right now? Because I think I do, but a lot of the times when I get there, I don't, and I just sit there and hum. -

Thanks to the fug girls, I will always hold this as my favorite Hugh Grant dance/musical moment: And I apologize in advance, because that song will be stuck in your head for the next three days.- 169 replies

You beat me to it! In past cast nominations, Kristen was nominated for Spoils of Babylon, and Jimmy and Tina got nominated for their hosting roles (as did Louis CK and Melissa McCarthy)

I was really hoping that since the comedy Lead Actor field isn't the deepest that Andy Samberg could sneak in there, especially being the Golden Globe winner, but I guess not. I'm actually a little surprised that Orange is the New Black decided to field so many actresses in the Guest Actor category instead of the Supporting Actress category, and I'm really, really surprised that of the three they nominated, Laverne Cox was in over Lorraine Toussaint, just because Laverne was almost a non-entity for season 2. I hope they don't cancel each other out, because I thought Uzo Aduba was phenomenal, and I think she probably could have competed in the Supporting Actress category. I think that, once again, Lead Actor is a Dramatic Series is going to be one of the tightest races. Cranston, Hamm, McConaughey or Spacey could win, and I would at least find it satisfying. As for happy surprises? I'm beyond thrilled that Kate McKinnon was able to get a Supporting Actress nomination, and even though I couldn't stand her on SNL, Kristen Wiig completely deserves her nomination for Spoils of Babylon. I'm also thrilled that Jesse Tyler Ferguson got nominated again for Modern Family, because I think he is completely underrated on the show. And I like that "Best Reality Host" finally got a shakeup this year.

Brain Bleed: The Shows We Hate & The Reasons We Hate Them
Princess Sparkle replied to SPLAIN's topic in Everything Else TV
Seinfeld and Scrubs. I don't know how many people told me I'd love it because it was "my type of humor" but I can't stand either show. -
It's not in the best episode, but Homer's "Look, I thought the cop was a prostitute" with his emphatic head nod always cracks me up. It's as if there should be no more discussion after that. And when I say something incorrectly, I do try and say "Me fail English? That's unpossible!"

I'd have to wade through to hammer down my top 10, but since my brother's decision to be a vegetarian mirrored Lisa's, "Lisa the Vegetarian" will always have a special place in my heart. And in an episode full of lines that crack me up, for some reason, Barney's "Go back to Russia!" when Lisa brings out Gazpacho is what makes me laugh the hardest. Actually, season 7 in general has some of my favorite episodes - King Sized Homer is in that season too I think.

Party of One: Unpopular TV Opinions
Princess Sparkle replied to mstaken's topic in Everything Else TV
You don't have to whisper that by me. I love Buffy, but I find that Angel holds up much, much better. -
I'm so glad you made this thread. Completely agree with you on Melnick - I'm sure Tovah Feldshuh is a lovely woman, but my goodness, I wanted to punch her in the face everytime she showed up. And we agree once more, because Shambala was hands down my favorite recurring defense attorney. There is just something about Lorraine Toussaint that takes command of the screen, and I loved seeing her and Ben go toe-to-toe. Is this the appropriate thread to say how much I hated how they changed the character of Robinette once he came back as a defense attorney? Because boo - I like to pretend that Paul doesn't exist.

Season 1: Dick Wolf Gives Us NYPD's Finest
Princess Sparkle replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Law & Order
I HATED Melnick! Just the sound of her voice sets my teeth on edge. I would love that thread; I have many, many thoughts on recurring defense attorneys (like how lucky Peter Herrmann is to be married to Mariska Hargitay, because the guy can't act). -
Season 1: Dick Wolf Gives Us NYPD's Finest
Princess Sparkle replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Law & Order
I'm not sure where to put this thought, but this thread seems as good as any. Seeing how freaking well they did storylines with racially motivated crimes (Subterranian Homeboy Blues, Out of the Half-Light, etc) early on makes me so sad on how they bungled those same types of stories in the early to mid 2000s time period. And even though she appeared throughout the seasons, I'll throw in here that Lorraine Toussant might have been my favorite recurring defense attorney. Not because I always agreed with her stance, but because I thought she was such a fantastic actress, and the way she and Michael Moriarity acted against each other was fabulous. They had great acting chemistry. I mentioned this in the rewatch thread, but Indifference is still one of the most disturbing, yet well acted, hours of tv I've ever seen. -
Quotable Quotes: Lines from TV You've Made Your Own

I use "Everything is coming up Milhouse!" on an alarmingly frequent basis. It just works in so many situations. -
Faux Life: Things That Happen On TV But Not In Reality
Princess Sparkle replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
It never, ever fails to crack me up on Law & Order that no one ever stops doing whatever they're doing to talk to the cops. Waitresses will continue to wait tables, doctors will walk from one office to another to check x-rays, students will run off to class, etc. It's like no one in New York can give more than two seconds of attention to the NYPD. -
I just have to throw out that this episode had the "most ridiculous line" of the season for me: Nick: Just ignore him Liv, he's baiting you" Finn: "Yeah...masturbating" Ice-T is a national treasure.
