S03.E08: A Jury of Their Queers
Princess Sparkle replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
This season seemed so good on paper, but man, this whole thing was a real let down. That crown should be Shangela’s; she was the most consistent contestant left by a mile. And to not even end up in the top 2? Bullshit. No wonder they’ve been pushing Season 10 so hard; this whole season was such a mess. -
I was thinking of The Voice; how in the world did I forget the name to that? Proof it's time for me to call it a day...

I could not understand Steve's reactions towards Jeremy AT ALL during this episode. First, he's dismissing Jeremy for critiquing the design (which Jeremy turned out to be right about), then he blows his stack at Jeremy (who was the only one who got compliments from the judges in the initial critique), then he starts his bullshit "I tried to give you a tattoo you could finish for once" WHILE JEREMY'S STILL TATTOOING, and then he straight throws him under the bus during judging after Jeremy still had been loyal to Steve before that - Fame's drawing looked messed up from the jump. For whatever reason, Steve has never seemed to like Jeremy and now he's making it as apparent as possible. I like Deanna too, and I wish she was on Anthony's team (just because I can't stand DJ). On the Ink Master instagram stories on Tuesday, they were doing a poll for each Judge i.e Are you Team Steve/Team Anthony/Team DJ. Anthony was the winner by a mile - when I voted, it was 76/24 in favor for Anthony, 45/55 for DJ, and 22/78 for Steve (so...I guess I'm not the only one who can't stand Steve). I am having the hardest time predicting who I think is going to be in the finals this year. I'm guessing they're going to try and keep it with one person from each team (I know there was a show that had a similar format and an entire team was eliminated before the finale, but the name of the show is eluding me) just because Ink Master is transparent with stuff like that. If that ends up being the case, I'm guessing its Rolly/Josh/Juan - I feel like they're going to keep Josh around for as long as possible, and for Anthony's team, it's really a toss up between Juan and Jason. I'd prefer a final of Deanna/Frank/Jason though, but I have never been able to accurately pick an Ink Master winner.

Anthony's team winning really goes to show how much the temperament of the coach factors into the success /of the team. I actually think DJ and Steve's teams probably have stronger tattooers, but they as coaches are so antagonistic and explosive that they can't really get any team cohesiveness together. I know that's why they were chosen but man, I would much prefer a season with Anthony/Shane/Joey (if we're going all winners), or I wish they would've saved Tommy for this season and made him a coach. I think the time constraints really messed with Tommy as a contestant, but as a coach, I think he would've been fantastic. I have to say, I was actually a little appalled at how Josh and DJ were arguing over the design in front of the canvas, and I put more of that on DJ then Josh. If you're the coach, then don't just say "You're wrong; there's better ways to do it" in a sing-song voice, actually tell him what you think the better way is. Also, I have HATED Steve since his original season - I can acknowledge he's talented, but I just can't stand him - so I cracked up when he was pointing out the flaws in Josh's tiger and the judges just ignored him.

Just saw on Instagram - the March 10 show is Sterling K Brown with musical guest James Bay, and March 17 is Bill Hader with musical guest Arcade Fire. Beyond excited for Sterling K Brown.

Totally agree. And what kills me is that in the first episode, Núñez even said “If you cut, you go home.” I see that has now translated to “If you cut, you go home, unless you’re the source of House drama — then you’re in the bottom or get a pass”.

The two smartest people on this show are Andrea’s two oldest kids. Her son and older daughter are extremely measured and mature for 15 and 12. Between Nyla getting a new bathing suit and $40 from her mom just for going, to her just straight up asking Lamar “We’re you a gang member? Are you a drug dealer”, she’s my new favorite person. It’s sad, but I’m getting the vibe that Tennyson and Nyla have had to be the adults in that family for awhile. Runner up for smartest person is James’s friend, who immediately said “Uh, duh, she relapsed.” when James was telling him about Alla’s “pregnancy”. I can sympathize with not having experience with addiction, but if you know you’re with a recovering addict, why in the world would you not study up on what the signs of relapse are? Andrea’s insistence on her youngest calling Lamar “Dad” was giving me shades of Nicole/Azan from 90 Day Fiance.

The only person with any little bit of sense is Lamar’s friend that he’s living with. No one should go back to jail over Andrea. Mary is a complete asshole. The fact that her response to Dominic clearly being traumatized over his time in prison is “He needs to get over it!” says everything about her.

SNL Season 43: Speculation and more!
Princess Sparkle replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Other than The Rock (who kind of straddles the athlete/actor line), does that mean Charles Barkley is the athlete who has hosted the most? That's...strange. I keep wondering why they've never snagged Shaun White to host after the Winter Olympics. The guy has charisma for days and could do a pretty good job. -
These people have such a special talent for making me sympathize with the convicts. I couldn't tell who was more tone deaf; Andrea for getting mad Lamar was seeing his daughter, or James signing up Alla for modeling after modeling was what helped fuel her heroin addiction to begin with,

I could’ve gone the rest of my life without seeing Andrea get fingered in the car wash.
-
They must’ve forgotten they actually did do the CVS “Who Works Here” sketch.

S43.E11: Jessica Chastain / Troye Sivan

"Luke is a guy" just made me bust out laughing, because it's so true. He is the Jon Rudnitsky of this season, and it's even more apparent because the rest of the featured cast is so good - Mikey & Alex are amazing, Melissa is growing on me, Heidi is going to break out in a major way, and Chris Redd is already a star. As a watcher of The Bachelor, nothing has ever been truer than when they said Arie "is attractive depending on what light he's in." This might actually be the sketch where they ripped the most from the actual show - they used the actual bachelor's name, there are four Laurens this season, and one girl actually is into taxidermy. They didn't actually have to do a whole lot to parody it. -
I would love to have been a fly on the wall for when Garrett watched this episode and saw Johnna say his stamina was bad.
-
I can’t even describe how hard I laughed at Adam’s “I’m surprised you thought condoms were his thing” when talking about Kid Rock.
-
Because of the song playing in the very last scene; it's Panic by The Smiths. When Frank and Amy match in real life, the lines "Hang the DJ" from the song are playing.

SNL Season 43: Speculation and more!

I have high hopes for him. He doesn't do comedy often, but when he does, he's great - he really held his own in Galaxy Quest, he did a really good job when he was on Drunk History, and I've always found him very charming in interviews. -
S43.E09: Kevin Hart / Foo Fighters

Maybe I’m just filled with the holiday spirit, but while I always like them skating at the end of the Christmas show, I found this one extra cute - the good skaters clearly helping the not-so-great ones (I caught Kyle and Alex skating Aidy around, and I think Kyle and Beck helped Heidi up at one point), Kevin looking petrified to move and Pete attempting to help him, and Colin trying to teach Scarlett how to skate. I watched that second Foo performance 5 times. Loved every second of it. I enjoyed this episode well enough; even on some dud sketches, Kevin just gives it 110% and you can tell the cast loves working with him.
