S12.E01: The Ink Will Speak For Itself
Princess Sparkle replied to thewhiteowl's topic in Ink Master
I usually don’t scream “Producer Intervention” too hard on what the contestants choose (i certainly have in the past with what the Judges choose) but I call shenanigans on Pon not being one of the bottom three. When the guys team was talking, damn near every guy named him as the reason that third tattoo failed. But then all of a sudden, he’s not one of the three down there and they’re blaming PERSONALITY on the one guy we’ve barely seen talk? I call bullshit. Producers just didn’t want him going home first. Also, Nunez, fuck off with your “Women’s team by a hair”. Their tattoos were better by a mile and he knows it. -
I think my new favorite person on reality tv is the friend of Sumit who was ready for his moment on camera and DELIVERED - his "THAT JENNY?", followed by just putting his head in his hands when Sumit said he wasn't going to tell his parents he was getting married was comedy gold. Keep him around forever. I'm slightly disappointed there wasn't a crossover reenactment with former TLC show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" with Tiffany, but I guess we can't have everything. What I couldn't understand for the life of me was why Paul didn't take two of the bags with him, then use the money he was going to pay to overages for the other bags and give it to his mom so she could ship them. Even if it was going to be a little more, surely it's cheaper than losing the money for the ticket and having to buy a whole new one.

I actually did think that's where this was going to go for a little bit. When they met for their "final time" and Karl said something along the lines of "It doesn't have to be like this", I thought for sure what was going to happen was that the two of them were going to stay in the game forever.

I'm a little worried you consider the end of Playtest a happy ending LOL -
I cannot say enough good things about Andrew Scott. He was just so good and when he finally got to speak to Billy in the car, he was just so excellent. And he even had me laughing with his rant in the beginning about everyone dressing the same at Smithereen so there's "no fucking sense of hierarchy". I hadn't seen Damon Idris in anything else, but he impressed the hell out of me. This was obviously an Andrew Scott showcase, but Damon Idris really held his own against him and the two worked really well together. And Topher Grace was good in his limited role. I'm here for a Topher Grace renaissance.

Yeah, I was feeling like there was sexual tension there, at least on Karl's part. It stuck out to me in the beginning that Karl made a comment about how "at least one of them found time for the gym" - at first I thought it was a swipe at Theo, and I thought it was strange that Danny didn't get upset at it. But then as the episode went on, I completely reread the interaction. It did - Danny was making some pretty agonizing noises of pain in the beginning when he was getting beat up by Karl when he was still trying to figure out the game.

It was such an easy joke, but the name of the previous bad orgy thrower being named "Mike" made me guffaw. -

After seeing Andrew Scott on Fleabag, I am so delighted to see him pop up again so soon on Black Mirror. I just love him so much.

S44.E20: Emma Thompson / Jonas Brothers
Princess Sparkle replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
I wonder if Sophie Turner will show up for a Game of Thrones sketch (she seems the more likely Jonas brothers wife than Priyanka). I'm sure the Jonas Brothers themselves will end up in at least one sketch; the last time they were in two - the Fourth Jonas and a Digital Short - and I'm sure they'll be able to hold their own with Emma. Really looking forward to this one. -
And, presumably, her continued friendship with Jimmy would also indicate that as well. So, I'm with you on this one.

Don't feel guilty; I let out an audible "Dammit" when she lost weight.

This episode had me at “Complicity to burglary”, but it won me over with “We’ve got some serious issues of delusions with you all” Never change Dr Now

I can’t describe how truly hard I laughed when Pete came in and started singing “I got fired”, followed by “I wasn’t? How is that even possible?” -

Never did I think I was going to start my morning by bursting into tears at the end of Adam Sandler’s SNL, but here we are. Welcome back buddy. -

I love Gina too; I think Chelsea Peretti is hysterical. I dunno; I find her the human form of the 100 emoji. I can't describe how hard I laughed at "You're reading him DICKENS?" -

It is amazing how much more I liked this episode with Sandra being minimized throughout most of it. I know she's ostensibly our lead character, but if anyone were to go on the chopping block and not be missed, it'd be her. Truly, who gives a shit if Jill is involved with Roger; when this whole series started, the conceit was that Alison and Seth were ENGAGED and that wasn't a problem for Sandra then. Now all of a sudden its "How can you even live with a prosecutor?"; especially because over in the DAs office, I would think Seth is probably the least offensive out of all of them. This entire episode made me wish we had a role reversal where the show was more focused on Alison and Sandra was the sidekick rather than the other way around. Even Alison's one scene with Ted had more chemistry than any of Sandra's scenes with him.- 371 replies

I believe it was that an alien civilization was running The Great Filter experiment they were discussing in the beginning, and this was the first time it was successful. Jerry was alive because he noticed that this race was watching them (he was right about it being a set-up), so they saved him and we’re going to make actual contact with him, because they were impressed he actually noticed they were watching and figured out what was happening. That’s why they said he was “worthy” at the end.

Was it...really a secret that Roger and Jill are dating? They played it like it was some huge reveal to Sandra, but I thought it was an open secret that everyone just wasn’t acknowledging yet. I really wish they hadn’t copped out and had the officer die right away, since it absolved Sandra of a lot of her responsibility. Attorney/client privilege is hugely important, but Christ, I don’t actually think she had a leg to stand on with “I don’t know if he’s in danger” — you have a map of where the body is. I liked Jill’s way of positioning “I fight for the most vulnerable and today the most vulnerable person is that officer” - there was a better way to go about doing this; I’m not sure this was quite the way to go. I cant help it, I know he’s there for comic relief, but I like the antics of Seth. I liked the actor on The Good Wife, I liked the limited role he had on Mr Robot, and I think he’s fine here. I’d rather watch him and Jay have roommate shenanigans than watch Sandra box out her feelings. -

I did think it was a nice little nod that former Wild N Out cast members Mikey and Pete were part of the GOT parody Wildling Out. I had to double check to remind myself that they both were on (and not just Taran) — it’s been driving me nuts all week. -

I squealed when I saw Vanessa Bayer. I love her so much; the scene in the restaurant absolutely killed me. Everyone already mentioned the bone part, which made me howl (no pun intended), but I also was crying laughing at “You Made his mother’s vulva look like his sisters vulva”- 464 replies

Wow, the most recent episode really got me. The acting was top notch, there were nice little easter eggs and touches from the original series (some are listed here), and the social message was right in line with the kind that Rod Serling tried to do with the original Twilight Zone. A+ episode all round. The only thing I wished was more Steve Harris, because he's a great actor and we didn't get enough of him.

It was blink and you miss it - Hope didn't do it, we find out through dialogue that Allison and Jay wrote a brief and presented it, but couldn't get it suppressed.
