  1. I wonder if some of the reason for the low ratings is because the first four episodes are available on OnDemand? Since they've been up, I've binged all of them so I don't need to watch them live. And since you can watch them all whenever you want, I don't know if those view counts are counted in the Live+Same Day numbers. Also, because I've already seen them, I don't need to watch them live and I might forget to tune in when the next new episode actually premieres (aghh why did I do that?) I hope the ratings get a little better, I'm actually enjoying it now. Edit: They're actually showing commercials to binge watch the episodes!
  2. Congrats to Meghan! It looked like T had the momentum behind her by the finale, just like Nick Fradiani eventually overtook Clark Beckham in American Idol when Clark had frontrunner status since the beginning. But that was some good editing because I was pleasantly surprised. Meghan has been impressive throughout and based on how little they showed her working at the pass in previous episodes compared to the others, I just have to surmise that she was so competent that she gave very little extraordinary mess-up footage for the editors. It was basically "Meghan go to the pass, Meghan good job get off the pass." This episode they showed more "mess-ups" than usual but those mistakes were really very small. My favorite winner since Christina M. rocked it in Season 4. And I wouldn't mind seeing Michelle come back a little more mature, I think she would do great. Also, how did T pick such a poor team when she had first pick??
  3. Why do Adam and Rachel have such good chemistry?! He's such a douche but I can't help but root for them--they really do light up the screen every time they have a scene together. I found myself rewinding that near-kiss quite a few times. I hope that they can stop sabotaging themselves and each other because they can make a good team (see: Adam being able to explain away the magazine article). Also, I love Faith: "Are we supposed to be seeing this?" LOL
  4. I liked how they paralleled the talk Rachel's mom gave to comfort her, where she moved seats to sit next to her, with Rachel and the bachelorettes. Shows how the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. The whole Roger and Maya thing was insane. This show is getting a lot darker than I thought.
  5. Dani and Charlie reminded me of a N&A version of Beauty and the Beast lol Good episode in the end. Wish they would've showed more of Dani surviving, that was interesting.
  6. Yeah I thought that was kind of weird that they kind of seemed pleased (?) about his idea even. They were talking about his only downfall was being slightly boring, which he managed to "fix" by the second presentation. And no mention that one of their VERY OWN WINNERS already has a successful show about sandwiches. I can imagine him saying in the future, "Oh that guy's the Sandwich KING. I'm the Sandwich WIZARD." [/Vanilla Ice]
  7. Seriously, Bobby could not take a hint. "I can't do this right now, sorry." "Tell me about what you're thinking." "I can't right now." "Are you thinking about your wife?" I'm surprised he didn't straight up punt him out of the kitchen. He did that the WHOLE CHALLENGE. Bobby is a really awkward host.
  8. This show kind of reminded me of the FX show 'Dirt,' although that one was a lot more unpleasant to watch (though I did watch every week). I agree with everyone that liked it, but I actually liked it more than I thought I would. There was actually a lot more grounded characters than those promos made it seem. Looking forward to next week.
  9. My favorite part was when Gordon asked them why they chose Michelle and all they could come up with was "Uh...she's not very good at communicating with us." I love how he said that vote made them all look terrible. I wonder why they chose not to focus on how Meghan did as sous chef, even when they swapped stations it was just, "Get on apps and switch with T, Meghan." Should we just assume that she did so well that it was unremarkable, like if Chef Andi or Scott were there? Man, did Nick crash and burn. That was just sad.
  10. I liked all the parts not connected to the mystery of the week. The writers did a good job on this one and I feel like we got to know Liv more, which is great. For some reason I'm still not feeling Blaine as the baddie (he's pretty one-note so far), but two more episodes left to change my mind! Hah! Yes, me.
  11. Let's go one step further. They really need to splurge for a better and more relevant sound selection for the last year. No more Motown, no more Roy Orbison, but songs that the young ones with disposable income (i.e. those who buy iTunes singles) will add onto their playlist. Rock Star and The Voice both had/have great and varied song selections so you didn't get tired of hearing "Rockin' Robin'" or "Hero" for the billionth time. Also, just delete theme nights period. Almost every time, the songs barely correlate to the theme anyway--sometimes it's just painful how they try to make the songs fit to the theme. "Movie Songs"="That song that was in the background in that one scene but it still counts because it was literally in a movie." Gah.
  12. I never understood the Meghan and Josh relationship--they would always be chatting with each other and there was no hesitation when they needed to pick partners. I think the only thing they mentioned was during a Meghan TH when she said that Josh listens, so did she like working with him because he wouldn't question her orders? Did she see herself as a mentor? Boo that they never explained that, I thought it would've been interesting, you don't typically see alliances on this show. With that said, it was Josh's time to go. He was actually past his "best if enjoyed by" date. And more boat rewards!!! Boy do they love their boats this season. When are they going to do the head-to-head audience-vote reward competition?
  13. This one kills me--I hate how much emphasis the judges put on appearance. "THIS WAS THE BEST THING I EVER ATE but it was a little messy, what is this garnish on my plate, you're going home." Or "This didn't taste too good, BUT THE PLATING WAS SO BEAUTIFUL, RESTAURANT-QUALITY!" Like, is this a cooking competition or what?
  14. I hope they get a new cameraperson or something because these past two seasons of Ponderosas have had like 75% of the shots terribly out-of-focus. I get what they're trying to do by making it look more artsy, but it's not fun when you constantly see the camera focusing in and out because of the super shallow lenses they are using.
  15. I thought that was so sweet, too--did he really give her all the money?
  16. I was wondering about Peyton as well--does she even exist anymore? Not even a mention about her in a few episodes. Clive is such a party-pooper, I feel all the energy deflate whenever he's on screen.
  17. This episode was...what was that? The woman pretty much admitted that she was only good for giving moral support. Him: "I'm frustrated because I've done all the work so far around here!" Her: "I already told you good job!" Um....yeah, this was pretty much a one-man survival challenge. They did seem to get pretty close at the end, though. Where are all the ace women from the previous two seasons? So far we've gotten a string of duds.
  18. Every time I see Chef Sammy I just think "When did Tom Cruise become a chef?" That was a pretty good episode, it actually lived up to the Evilicious name. $30,000 for no salt? Wow.
  19. One thing that I wish this show did MORE of like Veronica Mars is to give us an insight into what Liv's life was like before the zombie thing. I get that not much has changed to her personality before this other than she was a lot more book-wormy, but I wish we got some more flashbacks or something that would help us explain better how she's dealing with this whole thing. We kind of got that with the episode where he finds Major has moved on, but so far I'm not feeling Liv that much as a character. She doesn't seem to be really pushing that hard to find a cure for her zombieness as Ravi is, she is intent on killing Blaine only after 5 episodes or so after Major is, there's no real arc to her character like we saw to Veronica trying to find out who raped her in the first episode. Basically I feel like we still need more history on Liv. Edit: Fixed some typos...
  20. The one thing I was most disappointed about in this episode was the argument between Lowell and Liv about where he got his brains from. She kept hammering on him about the source of his brains yet never addressing his argument that not everyone could have a steady non-guilty supply of brains like her. Like, really Liv, what would YOU do if you weren't an M.E. and someone was offering you some non-free range brains? I felt like that could've handled a lot better because, despite the tragedy of it being teen kids and Lowell semi-knowing the source, we never heard what Liv would do. And that was kind of gross how apparently him being all wooby about eating the brains of a recently buried father is an aphrodisiac. That love scene did not need to stem from that. The mystery of the week was boring as per usual. Ravi is the best part of the show.
  21. That aired last season, it was more of a joke episode than anything.
  22. First, hilarious--I can see Justin doing that. I really hope they don't do anything too much further with that relationship just because usually relationships like that take over the show (see: Psych). And I thought Trent let go during that scene but upon rewinding several times, he had his foot on the house like Danny did at the end.
  23. I was watching video from Clark's homecoming and he actually sang with his dad at his homecoming concert, too! And his dad is an incredible performer with a great voice of his own, it was a rather heartwarming moment: https://youtu.be/myi77IcoBQ0?t=13m22s Wonder why they decided to highlight Nick and his dad's performance and how Nick's dad wanted to be a performer, but not showcase Clark's relationship with his dad as well...
  24. Seriously, I felt so bad for her, she kept trying to have a "moment" with Steven Tyler but instead it looked like she was constantly grabbing at him and the microphone but he wasn't having any of it. She actually had to manhandle the mic in order to sing one single line with him. It was all very awkward. Adanna looked like one of Janelle Monae's backup singers instead and I'm pretty sure she was even covered by Janelle in most shots. I was confused at what part she was supposed to sing, I didn't hear her at all. She didn't even get a single line to herself, that was so weird. Andy Grammer sounded like a better sounding Nick. The sound was really off all night, most everyone sounded really terrible. Notable exception: Sarina-Joi, reminding us why she was put int the Top 12 in the first place (I still can't believe she had ONE off performance and boom, she was gone). Congrats to Nick--I came to terms with Clark coming in second place a few episodes ago but I know that he'll go on to have a nice little career for himself like Lee, Kris, and Taylor Hicks. Maybe not THE biggest career, but those guys are doing all right for themselves. And agreed, that was one boring, boring finale. Half of these acts were meant for a different generation and the other half I had no idea who they were. We didn't even get any group sings and pointy poses :(
  25. Both coronation songs sounded waaay too similar, they could easily have been swapped between the two guys. That was a terrible reflection of what kind of music that Clark would sing, it did not suit his voice at all. That song also reminded me a lot of "You're the Voice" which is dated and not good. Nick got the more current sounding song, it did sound like a reject off a fun. album, but you could see that his experience really helped him embrace such a new song so quickly. So weird that they're starting auditions tomorrow! It's going to be a very bittersweet finale....
