  1. I didn't realize there was going to be two episodes today! Kinda sad they hit upon Justin and Candace so quickly but they're so durn cute. I hate Trent the character but the actor that portrays him is so funny, I wouldn't mind seeing him pop up here and there. His waiting for the beat to drop was hilarious. Lots of character development across these two episodes. After the live episode, though, I did miss that element so I'm excited for this show to come back in the fall!
  2. http://www.dailydot.com/entertainment/saturday-night-live-muhammad-sketch-plagiarism-allegations/ So what does it say that one of the few skits I found funny last night has come under fire for plagiarism....it's the second Canadian show that people have pointed at SNL for copying recently...
  3. As if I didn't want to go a taping already!! I could see this cast doing that :)
  4. This one was just painful to get through, but it got better after Afften left the show. I don't know what the heck happened to her, she blamed it on her "malfunctioning" out there but she probably got heat stroke the very first day after deciding she didn't need to put mud on herself that it's a miracle she lasted as long as she did. I liked Zack a lot better after she left and he stopped crying about how things were unfair. The montage of him going cuckoo out there was kind of endearing. Poor tortoise, and a mama one at that! I miss Ryan "Alligator Man" Holt still. He, E.J., and Laura should do a "Naked and Unafraid" episode together!
  5. Seriously. It was like every skit tonight was written with the formula: Unfunny Premise + Weird Voices + ??? = Hilarity! The last half of the show was just painful. I'm really sad because it seemed like they were on a streak, but who the heck let that Water Park skit even go on air?! Did it really play that well during dress? It's a sad day when the pre-taped bits are better than all the live skits combined. The only one that got a laugh out of me was the Pictionary skit and....yeah, that's about it.
  6. I agree that some of the cast needs some fleshing out, but I do like what each of them adds, however small. I liked when Brett got his own storyline a few episodes ago about how he was a good liar and that made for some laughs and added depth to his character since he only developed that skill because he was afraid of coming out. I liked how we got to see that Burski knows how to play the piano--I think if they made him more of a nervous geek-type character instead of the lecherous creepo, that would give the gang even more dimension. I like that we know Candace grew up really poor and with low self-esteem that this group is helping her gain. There's a lot of potential there. Don't know about this new Friday time slot though...will there be a TGIF renaissance?
  7. I liked this show, but it had "one season" written all over it. There was just no real momentum behind it, it reminded me a lot of 'Love Bites', another Becki Newton show that was cancelled early on. It was a cute show, but just didn't have that certain IT factor that made you want to tune in week after week. Poor Becki :( Will she ever get a starring show that lasts more than one season?
  8. That's a perfect comparison and maybe why I like it so much. I'm so tired of sitcoms having these overarching plots that eventually bog down all the characters (see: How I Met Your Mother). It's a pretty refreshing change, it's kind of like going somewhere to hang out for an hour with bar regulars...where everybody knows your name :) It got confirmed this week (yay!): http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/08/undateable-go-live-all-next-season
  9. I LOVED the live show and I am super glad they are going to be doing an entire season of it. The cast's energy really lends itself to this type of environment because they have an unbottleable chemistry together. The ad-libbing is great. I hope that they end up doing more East and West coast versions because I found the variations extremely entertaining, especially when they did the call backs. I could take or leave the celebrity cameos, though. (And I liked the hint of romance between Justin and Candace, though I hope they don't do anything with that anytime soon.)
  10. My favorite part of the night was how the audience went so wild after this song, they almost didn't let Harry talk at all lol Great song choice--even though I hate this song so much, Clark got me to like it.
  11. It was cancelled a year ago. They went to doing Facebook Q&As to now just doing taped interviews they post on their Facebook that they do with one of the executive producers. No more Bob the Blur.
  12. On the Facebook page, a future contestant said that some people got three items and some got two. I guess they aren't being very consistent on that rule. I liked this episode, though I didn't get a good feel for their relationship since they didn't comment too much about the other. More about the bugs and the hunger situation. But it was pleasant, which was fine. The nocturnal hunting for the crabs was new and it was kind of funny/sad to see that guy's traps keep failing.
  13. If they are angling for a love triangle between Major-Liv-Lowell, it's going to be a hard sell since there is zerooo chemistry between Major and Liv. The scenes between her and Lowell, however, are too cute. I do enjoy the friendship between Major and Liv, though, but every time she laments about their old relationship I'm thinking "Honey, you really aren't missing anything" lol Word. I kind of tune out during those scenes, but I am still enjoying this show so far. The Major sub-plot, though, I'm finding pretty boring. There's nothing keeping me guessing like the "Who drugged Veronica?" arc on VM.
  14. I LOVED that. He knew what the package made him look like and he knew what the judges' comments made him look like, so I'm glad he took the chance to explain it a little more otherwise he would've come off as some ungrateful, pretentious, know-nothing kid when he's just a guy who really wants to make some good music that isn't as savvy as to how the whole Top 20 world works. His problem right now, though, is he's got to show that he's not just a good performer, but someone worthy of becoming an IDOL. Sometimes the things you want to do as an artist is not conducive to that and sometimes it is. That's the tough part about the whole thing, figuring out that line, which we are seeing these contestants struggle with every time.
  15. I wonder why they chose to do an elimination that way? That was random. Laughed so hard at GR playing mind games with Josh. I had to rewind his phone call twice. "Josh, is anyone else there?" "Right away, Chef--er, uh, what?"
  16. They make it reaaaaallly hard for me to like Stosh. The Godfather homage was really well done, though.
  17. This episode really highlighted the "mental toughness" part of this show. I will ashamedly admit that I complained every time Christina complained lol Man what a letdown after the last episode. From the Naked and Afraid Facebook page: Makes sense. There were too many quitters or people lying around starving until extraction day.
  18. The editing this season has been so atrocious. So many questions that are unanswered by the end of the show. How Mike went from top to bottom so fast is a great storyline, but we are supposed to INFER instead how it happened. And all of a sudden he's best buddies with Jenn and Shirin? Shirin and Mike then voting out Jenn after they said they were going to try taking Carolyn out? And that was just ONE episode. I don't know if it's because this cast isn't providing them with the right footage or if someone's telling them to stick to a formula (reward+some random drama+large alliance deciding on target+small alliance scrambling+someone saying "yay I'm the swing vote" yet we know that they aren't going to actually be swinging any other way than predictably+inevitable boot). Or I wonder if the editor's strike last year had anything to do with it. But the bottom line is that I really miss some of the great editing in past seasons like Heroes vs. Villains.
  19. Booooo I can't believe how much this sucky cast and this sucky editing on this sucky season have managed to even make one of my favorite reward challenges, the auction, suck. I always looked forward to seeing who went for the rewards and who stayed for the possible advantages, it was hilarious when they would have the booby prizes, it was great seeing the temptation...but this group had it so figured out that it was over in like, a minute. With Carolyn playing with the rules and Dan winning an advantage. That was as lame as last season when they didn't even play the reward challenge because they automatically wanted to give it to one of the people. They really shouldn't be given so much freedom, these contestants are really getting too big for their britches. I would look forward to the gross-eating challenge with this cast, but seeing as how boring and predictable these guys are, they'd probably find a way to ruin that challenge too. Also, I knew I had Will pegged ever since he turned on the No Collar tribe after they made him the birthday chicken. They made you a birthday chicken and you went around and turned on them when there really wasn't that much of a reason to. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I'm out as well.
  20. True, but they could showcase the other facets of being an American Idol, which is that X factor, that ability to get a whole audience on the same page with you--like I'm thinking "Radio Gaga" type of interaction between the singer and the crowd. The times when I've been at a concert and THE song that everyone knows and can sing along to comes on (hallmarks of an anthem) are always some of the best moments and that's when the singer almost becomes sort of a god. It could've been a really exciting show. So I have no idea why half of these were ballads. And I feel really, really old that Tyanna said she didn't even know the song "Heaven" had existed before that day. Whaaaaaaat?
  21. Is it just me or are these rewards getting pretty lame? Roller skating and some beer food? A boat ride? Another boat ride?
  22. I thought this was probably one of the stronger episodes in awhile, it managed to be pretty thoughtful without being too preachy and had some pretty good jokes (sometimes I feel like it can get too on-the-nose). The Topanga stuff was classic. Agree with the others that the younger boys and the parents are the highlight of this show, though. Hope this show gets renewed regardless.
  23. Good episode (he caught a fish with a throwing spear?!), but when did they start doing voiceovers from the contestants? It sounded so produced, like when he was talking at the end about how he wanted to start a wilderness camp and stuff. You could tell it wasn't something he was saying right after the experience, more like he was in a studio or something. Hope it's not a trend. Also Amber was way too confident around those alligators. It's like an animal trainer that forgets their animals are actually wild and COULD KILL YOU.
  24. I just saw this episode--how is that even a sabotage?! That is absolutely ridiculous that he wasn't even getting to be judged on his food. And Emily's constant "RICKY! RICKY! I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU!" stuff was borderline offensive. Ugh couldn't even finish the episode. Terrible.
  25. My perspective was that Harry was pretty hard on all of them, especially Clark. Disclaimer: I'm a Clark fan, but i just remember thinking after some incredible performances and some "Ehhhh" critiques from Harry, "What the heck does this boy have to do to get any love from you, Harry!" Haha. I think that the whole "Harsh Harry" nickname kind of went to his head a bit, but overall I am enjoying this panel well enough. They don't make it too about themselves like a certain other show... I did like that he was the one to speak up for the show when he believed Quentin was biting the hand that feeds them. That's the kind of stuff they don't teach you on the show so it was an important lesson to Quentin that your words can be taken a LOT of ways when you have the public spotlight on you. And about the iTunes thing, I really don't see them being pushed as hard as they used to. I didn't even realize they were doing them until about a few weeks ago (half-watching the show, but there's less discussion of them overall.)
