  1. I was honestly shocked that Valentine wedding won as well, I thought low-baller girl had killed it with her comments. I think it won for perhaps a few reasons--Valentine bride seemed like a nice, fun person; her husband's vow really were sweet and thought out (as opposed to another groom's "I love you and that's all I have to say"--he got a "really, dude?" from another bride!); her food was home-cooked and seemed to be delicious. Other that that, I'm stumped. White and that particular shade of red are so played out and tacky. And yes, it's getting hard to discern one bride from the other, especially with two episodes and eight brides, though I'm sad we only have one more week of this show. Bring on some California brides next season!
  2. Ummmm, I liked it, but not loved it. Chris Pratt is adorable, my husband thought he was still chubby and was impressed at his physique. I agree with a lot of you that I could not hear a lot of what was said, Darrell's opening does not seem mixed properly, I could barely hear him over the music. I think he may need to yell his announcements. The timing of this episode also seemed off--one of my favorite sketches, He Man and Lion-O had several gaps, though I forgave them because of Taran's ridiculously hilarious outfit and delivery. WU-ugh, Jost is till not going it. I miss SETH! Michael Che seems to be on the right track, and yes, I agree with you that he seemed nervous, and flubbed a few lines, and he needs to annunciate better, and I even mentioned to hubby that perhaps Che could do the WU by himself, once a little more seasoned. Pete Davidson made an impression on me, and that's pretty great for a first timer I have never even heard of, he will go places. His confidence is perfect and I laughed at everything he got to do in the episode. Hopefully the kinks will get worked out, seemed like there might have been a lot of nerves going around, not sure why Aidy got used as much as she did over Kate (Kate could have easily been the oversexed mom in the He Man sketch). I'm glad Beck and Kyle stayed, sad that we won't get any more filmed bits with Mike O'Brien. The cast seems about right now, just use everyone more! I enjoyed the second NFL sketch because almost everyone was in it (had never seen Key and Peele's version so I didn't know there was a similarity). Please, please, keep tweaking WU, though, SNL--it's still not ready!
  3. I'm going to say it's The Lillian Corp. What was Carla's maiden name?
  4. Sometimes I burn myself out on watching reruns of this show, then take a hiatus, then when I start watching it, it's so damn funny. The pole dancing ep--Doug's pole dance at the end of the show, so graceful! The ep where Doug and Carrie argue with Kelly and Deacon over babysitting Arthur. "Is it because we're BLACK!" Doug reads The Shining to Deacon's kids. The ep with the horrific painting, Doug's buckteeth and Carrie's enormous arm "Ensalada Primavera." Doug is scared of Carrie, so he lies to her
  5. If Korina is being painted as the villain then that means she will be in the final three (or the cop out final four). I also predict then, Amanda, who will show a lackluster, boring collection, and Kini, who will be fabulous as usual but will be edited so it will seem he is flailing.
  6. I hate to admit it, but I've grown to actually kind of like Strudel Boy. He's so "off" he's become funny to me, like, I think he's supposed to be that way, the commercial is just all sorts of odd. It would be funnier though, if the other people in the commercial acknowledged that Strudel Boy is weird.
  7. Funny, when my husband and I were dating, he did the "arm thing" a lot, like it was going to help if he braked hard (and you're right, it won't). He doesn't anymore. Oh well.
  8. S is for Sam Simon, who wrote several episodes.
  9. R is for Red, which Coach says is one of his nicknames, because he read a book.
  10. P is for "People," the song Diane sings to Carla when they try to work out their differences.
  11. I was quite disappointed when Shelley left, I just didn't get why you leave a successful show that way! I understand the need for a character other than a waitress for the bar, and why the Charles brothers needed someone to be in charge of Sam in order for tension to be created. It was indeed a different show with Kirstie, and lord knows the cast probably preferred her over Shelley (from the rumors we've heard that she was a handful). I feel the show got more loosy goosy with Kirstie, and wasn't the well oiled machine it was the first five years. I am a Sam-Diane shipper, so I did miss that aspect. Ted and Kirstie really seemed more like brother and sister, lookswise, rather than potential love interests. I'm glad they backed off that idea and made them really good friends. In case you didn't guess, I'm in the Diane camp.
  12. Big Love tested my patience many times while it aired, but I did like the change in opening credits.
  13. It was his daughter! What is the name of Diane's childhood friend who shows up in season two (and who we never see again?) (answering just her first name is fine).
  14. I now love the new Samsung commercial with Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell. I was never a huge fan of either, but they are so cute together. It's nice to see a happy couple in a commercial where the husband isn't a total buffoon and the wife isn't a harpy.
  15. I had totally forgotten Pirate Bride didn't participate in the theme! So, "you guys get to look tacky and stupid and I'll still be cute." As for having to pay for drinks on a boat, I got married on a yacht and we chose to pay for our guest's drinks, so a cash bar is not necessarily mandatory.
  16. I loved the Low Country wedding as well, and told my husband I would be pissed if she did not win. Bride was class A all the way, and I always go for classy brides. Pageant Snot--oh, what can I say--why was she second? You can always tell when a lot of money is put into only a couple of items and then literally nothing is put anywhere else--fruit bowl with forks? Pirate bride was right on when she said the cocktail hour was a bummer. If someone calls a portion of your wedding a bummer, you failed, I'm sorry. I like garden party bride, not sure why she was last. Don't get it. Pirate Bride--I'm not as forgiving as you guys, I pegged her as coming in last when they first introduced her. There are things at a wedding I can't abide by, and she did all of them--tacky theme, daytime venue, cash bar, I'm sure there were more but I can't think of them right now! Just no, no, no, no. I can tell when someone is trying to scrimp, her wedding was probably even during the week!
  17. That is the purpose of great art.
  18. That was hard, so I watched the episode to see who it was. The bid was $1250 and Rebecca made it. What was the name of the drink that the guys hope will trip up Wayne the bartender in Home is the Sailor (season six opener)?
  19. I have the feeling if Jost doesn't warm up to the gig this season he'll be out at WU. I was really hoping they'd start fresh with two new anchors, not just one.
  20. Oh, that would have been sad! i thought I Do, Adieu was sad enough.
  21. One of my very favorite seasons is season four. I love the dynamic between Sam and Diane, they clearly are moving toward each other again, they're closer as friends, and that season has some of the hottest kisses between them!
  22. As for the ring, I can only fanwank that Sam told Diane he wanted her to have a ring, since she got none from either Sumner nor Frasier.
  23. Some of season five is really, really great. Thanksgiving Orphans, Everyone Imitates Art, Cape Cad. I actually did like the engagement storyline and Ted and Shelley really sold the emotions that came along with her turning him down, then her changing her mind. But yes, I think the Charles brothers felt they had to make her less sympathetic to get us ready for Shelley's leaving.
  24. I completely thought that as well! Stadium bride (sorry, two episodes, eight brides--I cannot remember their names!) needed a different dress, something with cap sleeves or something.
