  1. I dread WU now. It used to be so much fun.
  2. Sometimes I feel Lorne is unreasonably stubborn. His love for the stage-hoggy Kristen Wiig seemed to sacrifice every other funny woman on the show for a time, and even though I really like Kenan (and I know some of you don't), he's stuck with him for quite awhile now. But then I think of the year he fired every cast member except for Lovitz and Miller. I just think a change in WU is needed desperately, I know it used to be my favorite segment and now I dread it!
  3. I had to ask my husband, "did she actually go along with the relationship?" I really enjoyed this, I was not able to tell what was going to happen next. And Jake is really fantastic in it.
  4. Linda never fails to warm my heart in her unconditional love and joy for her kids. My favorite part of the episode though, was when all three got into bed with her.
  5. I don't know if anyone knows this or not, but do Bobby and Jamie have different fathers? I know it's barely relevant but they look so different from one another.
  6. I really enjoyed this episode, I laughed out loud quite a bit, especially at the oversized football helmets. Big, silly football helmets will never not be funny to me. I've always liked Woody, and I thought his energy and delivery were perfect, and he seemed to be enjoying himself. I thought, anyone could have joined him in the monologue, Hunger Games people, Cheers people, Matthew M (or Taran as Matthew M), I was okay with Hunger Games people, just made me know for sure that Josh Hutcherson should be brought back to host (his episode last season was one of the strongest)--guy is good at SNL. I was disappointed with the duets sketch, the intent was to be as great as Jimmy Fallon's Christmas episode duets sketch, but fell short--too many of the impressions flew by too quickly. More Lorde please! WU is still a trainwreck, but Jost achieved Seth greatness with "pedophiles should start working in teams."
  7. Well, since Cumby just proved he can do impressions and be very funny, Lorne should take notice. He seems like he would be a great host.
  8. I can't keep up with all the time changes!

    Musical Pet Peeves

Too many vocal theatrics are why I don't watching singing competition shows. Just sing the damn song, straight forward. It can have more emotion that way, instead of making a big ta da about it!
  10. For me, the Star Wars theme is pure excitement, I was eight in 1977, you went to see the film over and over and looked forward to the 20th Century Fox logo, and then, BAM--that theme. John Williams has done some masterful work but that is up there on the list just for nostalgia alone.
  11. Bill Hader said in an interview that he and Fred were riffing prior to the table read, using those voices and that's how Californians came about. Then Fred would constantly try to crack Bill up. It's always my favorite part of the sketch--"whatareyoudoinhere?"
  12. I'm from the area as well and I find the Californians hilarious. They described once the route to get out of Simi Valley and it was absolutely correct!
  13. I thought of Willam's situation on RPDR as well, and I think it's amusing that the same person who watches this show will also watch a drag race competition.
  14. I'm going to go out on a limb and call shenanigans, as my conspiracy-meter is also buzzing. I think the producers needed drama and offered Josh a special deal of cash, convinced him he wouldn't have won and gave him a super fake pot story to boot him. Josh's "I didn't think it was a big deal" was just so blase.
  15. I'm tired of FN's competition shows, but as soon as I saw Bobby Dean's face I knew I would NOT be watching this.
  16. I got a totally different take from this episode. I fell in love with the show after it had already been on about four seasons, then burned myself out on reruns. I felt the overwhelming sense that this show is running on fumes, it doesn't seem like a show that's already been renewed for three more seasons. It seems like a show that is in its last season. I feel like most of the cast has already checked out, specifically Johnny and Kaley. The only actors who are making it work seem to be Mayim and Jim.
  17. I thought the take on radicchio as a hard sell was that a little goes a long way, it's nice when it's with something else, like other greens or even a little in pasta with spinach but an entire salad of radicchio is not as appetizing. And since Cheers is my alltime favorite show, I liked them being in the bar, not sure why it's so hated by Bostonians.
  18. I laughed out loud when Jason mentioned "toads and frogs and helicopters." Cleen also took the wrong approach with his canvas, he could have simply said, "we don't have the time for everything you want, but you can always add that other stuff later on." I thought he was an ass to that guy.
  19. I actually liked Jesus inside a cross, I thought if you're going to force me to put a Jesus tattoo on myself (and you would have to force me) then that's a cooler one to have. Then I thought the inevitable "Jesus in a Brandy Snifter!" (lifting from SNL)
  20. Except the Sally and Dan Harrison sketch is funny!
  21. Honestly, I don't think they needed someone just to play Mrs. Obama. She's not integral to this administration (comedy wise) and the writers certainly can come up with sketches without her in them.
  22. For me, it was Jimmy Fallon's first Christmas show. Just aces all around.
  23. I don't care for Sasheer, it would seem that she doesn't have a comedic bone in her body. The Valley Girl voice grates on me as well since she does it in every sketch.
  24. Full Bars is classic. I enjoyed this one immensely. Dan Mintz' and John Roberts' line readings were just so perfect.
  25. That Couple sketch was horrible, cue card/missed line or not. Thank goodness for the Good Neighbor film. Fast forwarded through Prince, still miss The Revolution. Woody Harrelson is hosting, yay! We NEED a True Detective sketch, please.
