I wonder if people are overlooking this thread because they think it's an older series. I know I didn't realise it was the right thread until I clicked through. I'm enjoying it so far, but from the point of view of a non-American, a lot of it is so new to me, since my history lessons would have only covered the basics of the assassination, if that.

I don't know if it's available outside of the UK, but I have a subscription to Digiguide TV. It can be downloaded to a computer or accessed online. You tell it what channels you have and it works like an EPG on the tv, with the programmes being updated regularly as the TV stations update them. So you can see what's on and search for upcoming shows. Surely there's something similar in the USA, or maybe the number of TV stations might make it unfeasible.

I hate the idea of permanent partners. I always enjoyed the original CSI because it used to mix and match the pairings. (don't get me started on season 5 though). I wish Josh hadn't been reinstated, but at least he was trying to live up to his demotion, whereas Allie seemed ready to treat him like he was still at his previous CSI level. And the closing song was Folsom Prison Blues. Wow show, could you be any less subtle?

To be fair to the parents (although I'm not in any way condoning it), the daughter had previously run away and been living in a commune, doing drugs, and gotten pregnant before they were able to find her and bring her home. IIRC (and it's been a long time since I read the book), they were afraid that she might run away again if they pressed charges.

Basically because nobody has taken the time to edit it. The streaming services could have their social media people update Wikipedia if they wanted to. There is an app called JustWatch which collates the information on what is showing on what streaming services. You tell it what streaming services you have, and then when you search for a movie/tv show, it'll tell you where its streaming. It also lists what's coming soon.

But I thought it was Agatha all along....

I always appreciated the way that Xena was so creative in its clip shows. Most shows when doing a clip show seemed to use either the 'main character is in a coma' or 'main character has amnesia' trope as a premise for clips shows, but Xena and Hercules at least had some original ideas.

I’m guessing that they put the ‘gag’ episode as the finale so that the season wouldn’t have a downer ending.

We knew from the first season that William didn't have a posh background. IIRC, at one point he was bemoaning the fact that he'd been passed over for promotion because of who he was, in spite of his skills as a detective. And I thought for an episode or two that he'd finally understood a little of the prejudices that Eliza had to deal with, but of course it didn't last. I'm not unhappy that he's gone. The trouble is that given the setting of the show, Eliza and William can't both have a happy ending. Marriage might be William's happy ending, but Eliza would lose her independence.

If Boom-boom came to my office to pet me, I don't think I'd be complaining too much! 😁

YMMV, but I know that I enjoyed Angel more than Buffy back when they first aired. (Although that's possibly because I was way past high school at the time). I think it's worth sticking with. I've actually started rewatching it recently and I'd forgotton how much humour there is, although it's well balanced with the darker side.

I watch them partly in the hopes that if something does happen while I'm flying, that I'll remember what to do during an emergency from having seen so many instances of it on TV.

She was poisoned last season while working on a body. Presumably she’s still on sick leave. I liked her. I hope they bring her back. Josh needs to be fired. I guess that he’ll avoid the abduction and assault charges because somebody else happened to murder his victim and Trey certainly isn’t going to tell on him.

Heck, he could have just said that his 'girlfriend' was big into it and he'd just been dragged along.

Vance saying something along the lines of NCIS not having cold blooded killers. Yeah, not now that Gibbs has gone. I didn't expect to see Ducky in the opening credits still 😢 and next week looks like it's going to be a sad one.

IIRC, the season 3 finale had that exact plot, only it was an armed gang trying to retrieve evidence from a drugs bust and Mac went all John McClane on their asses.

I know it's fiction, but I would recommend the Edward Rutherfurd 'Dublin' books. It gives a good historical background through the eyes of ordinary people.

I had liked Carter's grandmother on her previous appearances, but I had no sympathy for her this episode. Not only did she know she shouldn't be driving, but she had the means to avoid driving. It would have been one thing if she'd needed to get somewhere and couldn't afford a taxi, but dammit, she probably had a car and chauffeur on staff. There was no excuse for her to be behind the wheel.

Was wondering when the second season would air and now I've found it's airing on RTE in Ireland starting the 10th January, yay!
