  1. I’m guessing that they put the ‘gag’ episode as the finale so that the season wouldn’t have a downer ending.
  2. We knew from the first season that William didn't have a posh background. IIRC, at one point he was bemoaning the fact that he'd been passed over for promotion because of who he was, in spite of his skills as a detective. And I thought for an episode or two that he'd finally understood a little of the prejudices that Eliza had to deal with, but of course it didn't last. I'm not unhappy that he's gone. The trouble is that given the setting of the show, Eliza and William can't both have a happy ending. Marriage might be William's happy ending, but Eliza would lose her independence.
  3. If Boom-boom came to my office to pet me, I don't think I'd be complaining too much! 😁
  4. YMMV, but I know that I enjoyed Angel more than Buffy back when they first aired. (Although that's possibly because I was way past high school at the time). I think it's worth sticking with. I've actually started rewatching it recently and I'd forgotton how much humour there is, although it's well balanced with the darker side.
  5. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve watched in ages…and I am so there for it! cartwheel! Yes I knew it was coming and laughed anyway!
  6. Didn't you hear? She got better.
  7. I watch them partly in the hopes that if something does happen while I'm flying, that I'll remember what to do during an emergency from having seen so many instances of it on TV.
  8. She was poisoned last season while working on a body. Presumably she’s still on sick leave. I liked her. I hope they bring her back. Josh needs to be fired. I guess that he’ll avoid the abduction and assault charges because somebody else happened to murder his victim and Trey certainly isn’t going to tell on him.
  9. Heck, he could have just said that his 'girlfriend' was big into it and he'd just been dragged along.
  10. Spoilers for S21 ep 2 episode. This is going to be a tearjerker for sure.
  11. Vance saying something along the lines of NCIS not having cold blooded killers. Yeah, not now that Gibbs has gone. I didn't expect to see Ducky in the opening credits still 😢 and next week looks like it's going to be a sad one.
  12. IIRC, the season 3 finale had that exact plot, only it was an armed gang trying to retrieve evidence from a drugs bust and Mac went all John McClane on their asses.
  13. I know it's fiction, but I would recommend the Edward Rutherfurd 'Dublin' books. It gives a good historical background through the eyes of ordinary people.
  14. Because it’s his kid as well. Yes, Nina has the final say on whether she wants to stay pregnant or not, but once it’s born, Scola has just as much right to be a father to the child as she does to be a mother.
  15. I had liked Carter's grandmother on her previous appearances, but I had no sympathy for her this episode. Not only did she know she shouldn't be driving, but she had the means to avoid driving. It would have been one thing if she'd needed to get somewhere and couldn't afford a taxi, but dammit, she probably had a car and chauffeur on staff. There was no excuse for her to be behind the wheel.
  16. Was wondering when the second season would air and now I've found it's airing on RTE in Ireland starting the 10th January, yay!
  17. For everybody feeling sorry for poor Henry being bricked up. And yes, I did go searching to find out what eventually happened to him. https://ttte.fandom.com/wiki/Henry_(T%26F)
  18. Elizabeth is in the middle of getting her PhD. She told the students that she was 'Miss' Zott until she had finished it and would then be Doctor Zott. Teaching is quite likely a requirement for the PhD course. Or maybe Elizabeth feels that it's important to educate and inspire the next generation of scientists, just as she educated and inspired her TV audiences. One thing that annoyed me about Calvin's mother. Why did she not have her foundation lawyer approach Calvin and explain the situation, rather than trying to communicate by letters. Calvin dumped the letters because he thought they were from money-grabbing imposters, but if the lawyer for the foundation that had been funding him all along was able to vouch for his mother's identity then surely that would have made a difference.
  19. It's been a while since I saw Season 2, but IIRC, wasn't Harry sent home on medical leave because there were concerns that he'd follow in his father's footsteps
  20. “‘‘Twas beauty killed the beast”. “No it wasn’t, it was smashing into the ground like that”. (I’ve always preferred the Discworld take on it)
  21. Savita Halappanavar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Savita_Halappanavar If dead children didn't get gun laws changed, then dead women won't get abortion laws changed in the USA.
  22. I think you’re wrong about that. She stayed in the UK as a teenager after her parents went back to Norway. But her previous interactions with Michael were when they were both police officers. So presumably mid 20s which would make Annika 40 something now.
  23. No rules maybe, but there is precedent. IIRC, there's been more than one occasion when a baker either had to leave part way through or wasn't able to attend at all, and in both cases there was nobody sent home. Edited because I found a link from 2018. https://www.independent.ie/entertainment/television/tv-news/why-nobody-was-sent-home-on-great-british-bake-off-last-night/37332302.html So at least three times before, this has happened.

It could be that the coach on the vault ends up blocking the judges view of the landings. Whereas most of the bar elements are in the air, so they're not blocking the judges view.
