I'm not sure how long Marsai Martin (Diane) is going to stay. She's executive producer and lead actress in a mainstream movie, and may want more opportunities like that, rather than be bound in a somewhat limiting role. When Dre threatened to knock Junior "into a galaxy far, far away", I was hoping Junior would use both "star" and "wars". then asked Dre if he wanted to back up his threat (which would get him fired on the spot) or whther he wanted to back down like a good puppy.

I just rewatched and you're right. She didn't say anything about him putting something in the drink. Grey could have given the squad the "Feb 13th" speech in the morning, letting them know where not to be. Moreover, the TAs would have told the boots "Don't be at [x] restaurant tonight." But PLOTTTT!!!!

Truth. Fanning keeps saying that he needs 12. If they kill all the other vampires virals (LOL), he won't be strong at all. Those scenes were early in the program, so I don't think Babcock was controlling Sykes. The scenes didn't have the warm yellow-orange glow of the other mind-messing scenes. I tell you what -- just imagine that YOU are in Amy's situation: held captive, watching people die horrible deaths, and knowing that any minute you could turn into a ferocious monster. I'm sure any reasonable person would be whining (at best, more likely soiling their pants!).

I think Nolan would have been shocked as well. There was a story about a man who was killed by a downed power line and his wife went to check on him and was killed by the electricity still in his body. I'm not sure, but I think one more other person also got zapped. It looked like the guy was trying to date rape the woman -- she accused him of putting something in her drink.

That's a relatively new thing. Other than soaps, TV dramas and comedies tended to be self-contained episodes (such as the original Star Trek). It wasn't until the 80's or so, when shows like Hill Street Blues started having on-going stories. Story-lines in comedies came even later, although I can't remember off-hand the first comedies to have storylines.

S01.E14: The Trouble With The Curve

I love the bit about "science explains the how; religion deals with the why". The laws of science don't care about anything except what immediately impacts them (distance from a gravitational center, the coefficient of friction, the amount of vacuum in a sealed system, etc. On the other hand, it really doesn't matter that much how something happens through religion, whether it's angels, saints, djinns or karma / dharma. -
Exactly. She should have cut off his head and made sure every single little bit got dissolved in acid.

Does it matter? Colorism is a serious issue, and while it can be treated with some humor (as black-ish managed to do), that's not the way. It's the same BS Obama got for not being "black enough" while facing some of the vilest racism we've seen in this country.

Under the Mask: Clues and Clue Discussion
jhlipton replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Masked Singer
Back when we had the single thread, someone mentioned T-Pain as Monster. I listened to a few of his songs and definitely think it's him (and he's GOOD!) -
That was hilarious, especially with Amy's deadpan face as she talked bout the "brown widow" spiders (a terrifying cross between black widows and brown recluses!).
-
"How many exes do you have???" It would have made a lot more sense for Selina to make certain he was dead.
-
All respect to Neil Patrick Harris, but he can't sing like that. His role in Dr Horrible was crafted for a singer without a lot of training and range. I still think Monster is T-Pain (who I hadn't heard of before). Listen to a few of his songs and you'll be convinced.

My ranking of the judges: 1) JB -- he was funny and on point 2) McHale 3) Robin 4) Nicole 1,035 -- Ken (tries too hard) 51,238,576 -- Jenny, who should be in jail for reckless endangerment, at the very least

"Alone" meaning "with the help of some other man", in Delilah's case. -
A Million Little Clues: Spoilers And Discussion

Meet my wife. She's a VERY casual viewer, checking FaceBook or playing games during most shows. As long as there is a semblance of a plot, and the characters aren't vile, she's in. -
Abortion is so poorly handled on decent shows -- I'd hate to think what a mess they'd make of it on this one!

Sounds wonderful!

Wishing and Hoping: Wishlist and Anticipation
jhlipton replied to OtterMommy's topic in The Masked Singer
I can't think of a current Jim Nabors type, who's acting voice ("Gollleeee") and singing voice ("TO DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM") were so amazingly different. Someone like that would be fun to have, but only if they stuck with one voice. -
Why didn't the Major grab up Griffin, who would be happy to weaponize his calling, given his complete lack of morals and ethics? So many threads dropped -- the "danger to those who know" vanished without a trace within 2 episodes. And the family is confusing the callings with the actions taken by the called: Griffin's calling was a Good Thing -- it saved a hot dog stand and the few people around it from going boom. It's just that the callers can't control who gets called, so sometimes it's Bad Hombres.

The producers have to walk a fine line between people who only watch the show, and those who scour the internet looking for every little clue. This forum sussed out the identity of most of the singers within a few episodes, so I think the number of the clues could be ramped down and/or the difficulty of the clues could be ramped up. They could start the show with really obscure clues, and gradually make them easier to figure out. I would prefer not to have false clues -- that's unfair, I think. -
Especially since the time-jumps have become meaningless: a flight full of people jumping ahead 5 years is intriguing; one person jumping ahead a year less so; a murderer jumping 4 days: whoop.
-
Actually, I got the opposite feeling. Now that Ben and Grace are together, the Ben-Saanvi "ship" has sailed; so they're pairing her up with Considerate Doctor Guy.
-
"If they are used correctly"??? Have you been watching this show??? None of them also noticed that the time lapse is getting shorter: 5 years to 1 year to 4 days. Next they'll find someone who skipped forward 8.28 seconds!
