  1. Full disclosure: I am a White man married to a Black (similar to Lupita Nyong'o). I realize that I have not had the same experience as any Black Person. Same. I think it's both. And this show CONSISTANTLY ignores previous episodes, so any comments along those lines can miss me. It would be nice but Not Gonna Happen. I wager next week this episode will be forgotten. Particularly Black men who only date or marry White women. They don't get .01% of the grief Serena Williams got for hooking up with a White man. The hierarchy that I see is: Whites (male and female) Light-skinned women (includes Latinas and those from the Indian sub-continent) Light-skinned men Black men ... ... Black women
  2. Black-ish had a GREAT discussion of "colorism" this week -- ot was almost as if they had been reading this forum!!! ETA: The discussion on the black-ish forum is really good, too.
  3. I know, huh!
  4. I think Bonnie would have to do the invite. I don't want to get any more explicit, but several (non-gay) options come to mind.
  5. LaToya was on The Match Game this week, so sje's not above being on silly game shows.
  6. I don't think Frank would mind, but I doubt Nate would go for it.
  7. Rumor has appeared and sung on Empire where the lead characters are the Lyons (which fits several clues).
  8. I didn't see that -- I'll have to re=watch. Thanks.
  9. Selina isn't alive because she couldn't pull the trigger (nor are any of he acolytes); they're alive because the person behind them couldn't pull the trigger. That kind of spoiled the test for me. Once again, it's not "dark" to put down a homicidal maniac like Jeremiah or Ecco, It's just common sense, Bruce! If Selina was "dark", she wouldn't have hesitated to shoot the acolyte in front of her. Follow the lead of Jim Gordon: he soesn't hesitate to shoot to kill those who deserve it (at least the ones without Plot Armor).
  10. It especially explains why she was so motherly and protective of Wes, the boy who wasn't her child, but almost was. Right. People can lose all custody of a child, but there have to be strong factors, such as drugs or violence.
  11. I wonder if Caryn is called "Aunt" even though she isn't married to Matt. I would wager that she is, because the one thing Jer and Auj are, beyond anything else, is hypocrites.
  12. I think it is -- maybe a VERY small thing, but a thing nonetheless -- but it's OK to disagree.
  13. They could, but I would hate it. The plot moves at glacial speed as it is; using flashbacks would kill it as dead as Jon. (Too soon?)
  14. That certainly sounds like an "Infinite Crisis" to me! [/sarcasm]
  15. Jon is dead, so there's only so many time Ron can appear...
  16. I like Will's somewhat bizarre but works-for-them-so-no business-of-mine relationship with the pediatrician (whom I adore!) much more than with his ex, or with Angie. BTW, I liked how Angie gave terrible advice, but Poppy still wanted it because GIRLS' NIGHT!!!! LOL. Poppy having sex with her ex in front of his girlfriend's house was super-extra!
  17. These pics of Kaydence Patton (the "Make-A-Wish" girl) are sooooo cute!!!!
  18. The Disney/ABC page has lots of good pics with the names of the actors (including the hostage, but oddly none of Shaun). Jade Peyton is sooooooo cute (I loved her (too small) role on iZombie as well. I told my wife "How nice to have 'murder-suicide' that does it in the right order!!!"
  19. Count me as one who watched and enjoyed the original series but don't give a hoot about Jerry, Fred or Andy. I like this cast and what references to the original they've had. TV geography. Also the reason you can drive from anywhere to anywhere in Los Angeles or New York in just a few minutes.
  20. I liked this episode, but where can i find the video for "Mystery Senorita: Christmas Edition"????? I hope Will is expecting her to run off. They can like, and even love each other while understanding that they can't live together.
  21. She really is!
  22. I recall him asking "Does anyone else hear that?" At no time did he say "The buzzing of the light is SUPER annoying -- can someone fix that?" It was all low-key until he fell to the floor.
  23. Bruce just traded the lives of three innocent people for the possibility of Selina walking again (if Ivy wasn't lying). But it's wrong from him to kill. Riiiiiight....
  24. There is the exception of Denzel, in his films like The Enforcer. And he is often the Black Savior of White women. This is not to diminish your point (which is even worse for Black women), just to point out one bright exception.
  25. Most of his shows, maybe (that's a good reason I don't care for The Good Place -- that and the person doing the sorting was stupid). But I was with the characters from this show from the outset. Plus Holt and Rosa don't bully, demean or act nasty without very good reason.
