Not quite sure if this is the right thread, but I wonder if everyone here is aware of the Twitter exchange between DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and the Internet? DARPA posted a Tweet saying that they were looking for a "human-made underground environment spanning several city blocks w/ complex layout & multiple stories, including atriums, tunnels & stairwells. Space sthat are currently closed off from pedestrians or can be temporarily used for testing are of interest". Well, of course the Internet freaked out. One Tweeter responded that DARPA is "definitely not looking for new places to keep all the Demogorgons." to which, DARPA had the best reply EVAHHHH: "Please. Demogorgons are such a Department of Energy thing."

I may be the only one, but I think that if a bot competes in the Desperado, it should be out for the rest of the prelims. I could see her giving Duffy a hug, but not a kiss (other than a small peck) -- he's a jerk who just dumped another woman and he's shown no reason why he "loves" Maya. He strikes me as a prime example of a Nice Guy, one who feels he "deserves" Maya's love just because he's longed for (not loved) her for so long. Sorry, but that was so bogus, it pulled me out of the scene. There's no way Gemma could have arranged the jerseys and the drinks in the short time she had and in secret.

True (although "blackness" kind of is defined by skin tone). Complicated by the fact that race is a social structure, and doesn't exist in any scientific way. That said, Nathalie Emmanuel is not "black" by any definition I would use: she's half English and half Caribbean (Dominican and Saint Lucian). She is more Latina (many of whom have African roots) than black.

Have you heard of the "1619 Project" from the New York Times? It's a collection of essays, videos, poems, etc about the impact slavery continues to have on today's society. It's worth a look.

The problem is that some frogs will jump out if they even think there might be some heat. "Gays getting married? Doesn't affect me in the slightest, but still can't have it!" "Light-skinned is OK, but dark-skinned, especially women, is BAD!!!" It doesn't help when there are those who encourage the frogs to jump (not naming names, as it is pretty obvious).
