Tomorrow Today: Media & Behind The Scenes Of LOT
jhlipton replied to Trini's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
Hurrah for renewal!!!! -
Bravo for Zimmer, but this is just stupid, and shows that Nash values a "surprise" over actual character and plot. No, just no. Depression affects everyone around and the closer they are the more they're affected. Moreover, it's her duty as Rome's wife to remind him that "depression is a liar". It will lie that you're doing better and don't need those nasty pills; then it will lie that there's nothing you can do that's worth the effort. If you know any people with depression, ask them just how needed their family and friends are.

S02.E11: The Book of Secrets, Chapter One: Prodigal Son
jhlipton replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Black Lightning
There was no reason for Jenn to not to "hot wire" Khalil at the end. Would it have made him more dead? It seemed dumb that they didn't even try. -
Because Bruce is a moralizing idiot, aided and abetted by Alfred. Any of Bruce's true friends would have told him to kill Ra's at any chance he got. But Bruce is "Oh, noes, I killed a psychotic murderer... I'm the worst evah! Poor me! Boo hoo!!" while anyone who saw Ra's kill a little boy just to spite Bruce would be clapping and cheering. For Selina, and anyone with a brain, disposing of Ra's, or Jeremiah, or Tetch, is just taking out the trash.

Truth!

See, Bruce, the problem isn't that Selina "murdered" Jeremiah (which she totally DID NOT DO, the problem is that she didn't murder him enough. I sure hope she rubs Bruce's moralizing nose in it when Jeremiah starts killing mass nubers of people again. I love Ed and Oswald's complicated relationship. They really do care about each other, even as they plot against each other. Ed has not forgotten that Oswald killed his girlfriend out of pure jealousy. I hadn't thought of that -- I thought it was his own.

We can only hope. There's certainly no lack of people with motive! Jeff likes the way Terry talks. Plus, Terry crews id freaking awesome -- it's worth it just to keep him employed.

Lauren is a psychopath and the daughter of two psychopaths -- that's far more reason for her son to be damaged than sitting in the snow watching Celebrity DeathMatch. Same.

WHY??????????????
-
It doesn't really matter when he got it; it's the fact that he didn't paint it or have it painted, but picked it up somewhere (unless part of the retcon will be that he had it commissioned...).
-
Someone needs to take Phil Dumphy's "Intro to Real Estate" class stat!!! Li'l Chewy (or Theo) would have been fine financially (and it doesn't look like Katherine is hurting even without being partner); I don't think that was a concern. But Katherine's only stipulation was "no late nights", so I presume that the new partner is going to have to work nights. As he is a single parent, that means that babysitters and nannies are going to be watching his son. I forgot that Jon didn't paint the picture or have it commissioned, so someone else coincidentally painted the exact same skyline???? Yeah, right.
-
I forgot about him. But that makes his decision to become partner even more dumb -- who's going to look after his kid when he's stuck late at the office. I think his accepting the partnership may be a bit selfish in that he won't have time for his own son. But that's his look-out. I was talking about how he dropped it on her. He should not have asked for or accepted the date in the first place, because a) he won't have time for her or Theo and b) he's her boss.
-
He certainly won't have time for a young boy. He wasn't thinking about Katherine's or Theo's needs at all.
-
It's pretty amazing that the skyline seems not have changed one bit since the picture was painted (20 years ago????)! Exactly. A friend spent years trying different amounts of different medications before she found one that (mostly) works for her [she still has bouts of depression, but they're far more manageable these days.]

I think the writers may realize that it is an inconsistency and that's why neither Shaun nor Lea have mentioned it. In fact, Shaun, Lea and "Glassy"s Great Day Out may have been written to replace Shaun and Lea's Great Day Out.
-
This needs to be repeated loudly from the rooftops! if a woman asks a man to be just be her friend, he either says "Of course" because he likes and respects her, or he wasn't her friend at all. At a meta level, I think the writers are making character adjustments from what they don't think worked in the first season -- particularly with Reznik and Lea. So we may have retcon some aspects of Shaun and Leah's Great Day Out. I don't think she's in any way obligated to stifle herself during sex. Shaun is perfectly capable of putting on headphones. I think she would have been (and was) more engaged with bugs.

ALL government-funded scientific research labs come fully stocked with the above. Just ask @the eskimo! (oh, wait, she can't tell us...) LOL

I often get home at 7, so dinner is at 8, and sometimes later. Yes, this. He knew she had been going for partner and reluctantly turned it down. A much better approach would have been to tell her, before the date "I hope you don't mind, but since you turned it down, I asked to be made partner." Then based on her reaction, temper how you tell her that he was accepted. I she seems happy, then offer dinner as your treat. Otherwise, back off. Except for "that woman has a mustache! heh heh heh." Way to get Theo to think that making fun of people's differences is cool and fun.

Re Regina on Rome's depression: Mine weren't but that was long before the days of social media.

Yes, but that is so Will. He is always a "gimmicks first" kind of guy.
