Tomorrow Today: Media & Behind The Scenes Of LOT
jhlipton replied to Trini's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
If I have to have Bollywood (yuck!), I'd rather not have it mixed in with Austen, thanks. Signed, an Austen fan -
Exactly! I thought that, too. But why would the clone cry when there's no one around to see. I think the arguments others have made work better.

Who's going to tell him that it was destroyed by an evil unicorn from Hell???

I am so very glad that you escaped your "Doug"!

One of the more interesting ways to reconcile science and faith, and one that side-steps the Problem of Pain [*], is the "God the Watchmaker" concept. In this theory, God built the universe and gave it rules to keep it running, but is otherwise hands-off, except maybe to give it a winding every now and then. [*]The Problem of Pain is: If God is all-seeing, all-powerful and all-good, why do innocents suffer? There are many proposed reasons, but to an outsider looking in, none really answer the question.

I figured out what Kyra's purpose was. It wasn't for the viewing audience -- it was for Quvenzhané Wallis. Roles for young black actresses are very hard to come by (Quvenzhané has appeared in only one movie since Annie). This was a way to provide her with an audition reel to show casting directors what she is capable of. That's my theory anyway!

TV writers only know two life-threatening diseases, it seems -- AIDS and cancer. Ho hum.

Is there any other kind? Infidel!!! It was the pause in between that made it work.

He's 50-50 for me. I liked The Office and LOVE Brooklyn 9-9 but hated P&R (I know, I know) and just couldn't get into The Good Place. This looks more like a bleh one than a good one.

Psychopaths are usually easy to tell -- they're the ones who usually don't know right from wrong. Sociopaths, as hubby was, are harder -- they know right from wrong, but they just don't care. Hubby knew that killing was wrong, but it brought him his goal and that was all that mattered. I agree with those who say she should have turned his brains to mush and then shot him, just to make sure. But then we wouldn't have gotten the awesome fight scene at the end. Far too many battered women wind up dead women because they don't run, so this is good advice. Checkov's Poker.

From Person of Interest, I learned about "air-gapped servers" which can't be hacked (there's no outside communication -- it would be like an unplugged external drive. If I were Simon, I'd have my Gaia Account (see what I did there?) stored on about 6 or 7 of these. My favotite of Arthur's commants about faith was when he told Miles that he would be seeing Cara very soon. Miles asked how he knew, and Arthur answered "Faith". Yeah, that an a clear window! LOL How about that crack security team? "Yeah, two people kissing here, no reason to look behind them!" LOL Even I, a Cali boy, noticed that one!

He has to be, in spite of it being just lazy writing, for the script to work. If Dean had brains, kindness or anything like that, Beth f***ing a sociopathic gangster would be repulsive. So Dean has to act like he's never sold a car in his life.

Irony and sarcasm don't translate into written posts well. Sorry for misinterpreting your post, though.

Race and ethnicity are pretty tangled subject -- that's why we have a whole forum devoted to them! :)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the few shows where the lead couple got together (and have stayed together) after just 1 season. There was very little of the "will they or won't they" BS showrunners like to use, and what there was fit the characters.

Apologies.

No, because Claire is not only already a doctor, she's a good doctor. Get to her level and then get a step-stool.

"Too many eyes and legs!" The synchronized sigh pushed it from funny to FUNNY!
-
Nothing against her, just that there are darker women on the CW.

Season 2? Wasn't this past one Season 2???? Or was it just the back half of Season 1?
-
Wow, that's about what a 2 bedroom goes for her in the exurbs of Los Angeles. Amazing Race? Granted they are only moving for about a month or so, but still...

It will be on Amazon Prime when it airs (probably early next year).

They could have had Nafessa Williams or China Anne McClain talk about the support that Black women need, but I guess that was just a step too far.

S02.E16: The Book of the Apocalypse, Chapter Two: The Omega

You stole my comment!!! Really, really strong Plot Armor! -
I one heard that a psychopath doesn't know right from wrong, whereas a sociopath knows the difference but just doesn't care. I see Luscious as being more of a sociopath, but not completely.
