  1. Her mom is novelist Meg Gardiner. (I have not read her stuff, but I have heard of her.)
  2. These cast & crew interviews have been airing on MeTV for several years now, whenever they show this episode. You'll notice they've also shown Wayne Rogers, who died in 2015.
  3. CNN spoke with the exec producer of Jeopardy this afternoon.
  4. I immediately came here because we all share a love of Jeopardy and Alex, and I know we are all hurting. Hugs to all.
  5. Yeah, MeTV has been airing it with interviews added for the last few years. Plus, I remember the original airing on CBS as being 2.5 hours.
  6. Speaking as someone who just binged it over the last couple months, my feeling was that it was just "OK" at the beginning... until the last episode of season 2, at which point it transformed into something special. Worth sticking with, for sure.
  7. Unpopular opinion, I guess, but I like the spaced-out podiums a lot and thought, gee, they should've done that long ago. Also thought Ken did a good job with his clues. Try reading a clue or two out loud in the privacy of your own home, and give it some inflection, try to infuse some personality, don't stumble over any words... it's not easy. I think he will improve, but I gave him a thumbs-up. (Full disclosure: I love Ken in general.) Do we still have a Clue Crew? Maybe I'm wrong, but I assume their travels have been paused for at least a while.
  8. Get your colonoscopy if you are of the appropriate age (or have symptoms). It's one day of hassle and then you sleep through the actual procedure. It's not hard and it can be a life-saver (my father, 91 years old, can attest to that). RIP Chadwick Boseman.
  9. That was so frantic, and Alex really was "young and fast-talking," like my TV listing said (lol). And contestant Greg did a show-and-tell for his interview segment. Such fun to see. I miss the '80s.
  10. This bug is happening to me for all threads I read. It was not happening as of several days ago. MacBook Air and Safari browser.
  11. One of my favorite episodes. Harry the Hat was a great character.
  12. That's my memory as well, but it's been some time since I watched any episodes that specifically mentioned his baseball days.
  13. And I would add season 2's "To Catch a Neighbor," because... George Clooney. And season 6's "Snap Out of It," which I think is underrated.
  14. I guess Megan didn't want to play a second game. (Either that or she can't math. Hey, I can't math either, but even I saw that she should bet 0.)
  15. Fred Willard has died of natural causes. I've been watching him since the 1970s (Fernwood 2Night).
  16. It's "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits, isn't it?
  17. I didn't recall that Ken got away with just saying "Who is Jones" for FJ. Hmmm. (Big fan, so I'm glad he did. Just... pondering.)
  18. Thank you for the video, BooksRule. It made me cry, that's how powerful a memory it is for me. The '70s were fun and TV-filled. For my contribution to this thread: "Ed." And because that's such a generic title, I always feel the need to elaborate: the show with Tom Cavanagh as the most likable bowling alley-lawyer ever. It's so weird that nobody airs this anymore. It lasted 4 seasons, and Julie Bowen went on to become a household name (more or less). C'mon, Cozi TV!
  19. I've read two reasons over the years for why Spearchucker was written off. Twilight Man's right that one reason was budget (they needed to cut back on so many 'main characters,' remember that the show was far from successful in its first year). The other reason was the producers discovered that there had been no black surgeons in Korea.
  20. Thanks for posting. I knew of him (very well), because I live in the Philly area, and he was kicking for the Eagles at the time I was starting to get into football. I vividly remember his special kicking shoe. Sad to hear of his passing.
  21. They did have sex. Back in the '70s, that was pretty common in TV series - they did the fade-out rather than show anything explicit (and especially in a comedy that was considered mostly family-friendly). Margaret was the one who later said "Nothing happened," but it was just a defense mechanism. Hawkeye called her on it.
  22. It looks like WGN America has dropped it entirely. Not sure what's going on with TV Land. Their website still lists it as one of their shows, but yeah, it's been missing from the afternoon slot lately. Hulu has the entire series.
  23. Ken Levine blogs about recent Triple Stumpers. And then numerous people in the comments section mention the David Lee Roth TS of yesterday.
  24. Thank you! Truly. I am so sick of "Happy Birthday" I could barf. The Jeopardy! think music will be my new go-to (for the full 30 seconds, why the hell not).
