  1. This is where I'm at, too. By this point, I'm just not interested in watching him. It's been a long time since Ken, but I swear I don't remember that run being like this (complete domination every game), but someone correct me if I'm wrong. I just loved Ken, though (still do), and was only lukewarm about James from the start. Probably going to stop tuning in for a bit.
  2. Or maybe Josh Radnor, of How I Met Your Mother fame?
  3. You may recall that they did the same thing just before Austin Rogers appeared on the show, teasing that a "great new champion" was coming along soon, so be sure to tune in every day. So this is not a new PR strategy for them. Yep, I'm anxious to hear from @teebax too! We don't need any game details, of course, but just a general check-in, plus hopefully Alex appeared to be doing OK.
  4. I felt so bad for Anna. Imagine getting all the way to making an appearance on the show, and only being able to ring in twice.
  5. I've seen this promo in my market (which is the Philly area).
  6. I believe he said, "The young man..."
  7. Serious question. Wouldn't the contestant coordinators advise a player to quit beating the crap out of the buzzer? I can see it happening for one game, but I'd expect someone to attempt to talk the poor girl down at some point.
  8. If I remember correctly, Alex didn't prompt you and Burton after Evan missed it. He just waited a second and then gave the correct response. I assumed at the time you were waiting for Alex's cue. That stinks, since you knew the answer.
  9. Arrgh, sorry you didn't win a second time, Elaine. Especially since I found both guys annoying tonight. I had no clue for FJ either.
  10. Welcome, and I was totally rooting for you on the show (and no, I'm not just saying that because you're here). I'm on board with any Bruce fan. Continued good luck! When were the tapings?
  11. Ken Jennings writing about Alex in the New York Times. Snippet:
  12. @teebax, when do you tape your tournament? If you can, please let us know how Alex is doing at that time (if he is able to host your tournament, that is).
  13. In his video, he said he just got the diagnosis this week. That's why it's so remarkable how composed he is, not to mention cracking a joke at the end.
  14. OMG, so scary. If you're not aware of the statistics for this one... well, you don't want to know.
  15. I love watching Ken play. That is all.
  16. Where are you? Why do I have the feeling you are in Philly? Anyway, if I'm not making that up, I'm in the Philly area and so I'd see your local promotion on 6abc. Regardless, I'll be rooting for you!
  17. I spent the entire 30-second think music complaining to my cats (with normal names, ha) that FJ was way too easy. And then it ended up being a TS! Are you kidding me?
  18. I joined the show late so I don't know if Alex made a comment about the question mark, but I loved it. Made me laugh... such a Jeopardy thing to do. I wish he had won. I'm not enjoying Bif. Sometimes he takes forever to pick the next clue. Dude, you're not choosing your life mate, just pick something!
  19. Alan Alda got his surviving castmates* back together for a conversation on his Clear + Vivid podcast. They laughed a lot, and it just made me smile all the way through. (*Meaning Jamie Farr, Loretta Swit, Mike Farrell, Gary Burghoff)
  20. This type of thing happens to me all the time, although not quite as clear-cut as your example. Like something comes to $9.87 and I don't like pennies, so I hand over $10 and 2 cents. Nobody gets what I'm doing. "Take your 2 cents back!" Their ineptitude drives me crazy because (honest to God) I totally suck at math. I was an English major. But I can still figure out that giving $10 and 2 cents will get me back a dime and a nickel. Just trying to avoid more dreaded pennies, yo.
  21. Could there have been more numbers in that Final Jeopardy clue? Talk about convoluted. Nice comeback by J.B. during Double Jeopardy, but hooray for Meghan, because she's semi-local to where I live.
  22. I guess I'm the only person who hears Chandler Bing, then. While I do love that WKRP scene, it's been eclipsed by the classic "Ross attempts to flirt with the pizza girl while the rest of the group listens in" scene on Friends. Please, enjoy.

    All Episodes Talk

I just finished watching the new season of Grace and Frankie (hang on, there is a reason I'm telling you this!). It was like visiting with old friends, especially in regard to Frasier: Millicent Martin (Daphne's mother) is a semi-regular; Marsha Mason (Sherry) makes an appearance; and my favorite surprise - Edward Hibbert (Gil) appears dressed in leather in a gay bar in one episode. I kept waiting to see Peri Gilpin or David Hyde Pierce show up. (Alas, neither did.)
  24. I was certain you were going to win, j5cochran. Darn. But great job anyway!
