  1. That was great. I had to laugh out loud when the ac unit fell on Leslie - the timing was perfect, just as she smiled at the artwork. I have to admit, I immediately thought that the sidewalk art was there to make sure she was in the right spot at the right time, although I didn't know who the artist was until the end. I loved Pam and her raps, the corny sayings ("Love is the bridge between you and everything"). Obviously, I like the humor, but I also like David Anders and Mr. Boss, although I'm not really interested in them, even with Enrico C. I'm glad vampire Blaine is back.
  2. ottoDbusdriver, thanks for listing all the points I would have, had I actually cared enough to do so. I thought the episode was ok, mainly because of the (alas, too brief) Clay skin shots (yumm). I like how Jeremy is acting this season (somehow, more alpha-like), although it's pretty funny how ineffective the pack is in protecting its home. I hope the Roman/Sasha thing is explained soon.
  3. What were those huge things in tonight's (Feb 22) winner's ears? Earrings? I couldn't even look at him. I have to say I was surprised he didn't at least get "magic" - there really aren't a lot of words with a "g" in the middle.
  4. I thought the sworkit app looked great, and downloaded it. I can't decide if the $3/mo upgrade is worth it. I found that swimsuit woman to be amazingly annoying, and I did not in the least understand how the sharks thought that would be a flattering look for older women since it didn't seems very compressed. Yeah, if they have no rear ends, like that actress. I really wish the show's producers would put in place some kind of minimum time requirement (ie, the business has to be in operation for at least 6 months or something). I don't understand why the mattress cleaner didn't get a deal, unless there was a lot of editing going on. It did seem like he was trying to cover too many bases (franchise, trucks, institutions, hospitals), but that technology clearly would be great given the concern about bedbugs and infections. I can see it being useful in places like hospitals and hotels (Which to me seems to be the same market), where there is a lot of bed turnover. Personally, I don't care if my mattress has my old skin embedded in it, it's part of me, after all. Strangers - that's another story. I think he could have used their help in the patenting process. I'm glad the kid and his bubbe got a deal, but I don't really understand all the excitement about the "delivery system" - pods are already used in all kinds of applications and I don't see what is different about his, other than the fact that it containers shampoo or conditioner rather than detergent.
  5. very nice game,I liked all of the contestants. They all seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. I can't believe the variation in FJs - yesterday's was ridiculously easy (rosetta stone, which really, everyone should know), but today's really needed some good movie knowledge.
  6. I'm in to the end, because I am a huge Laura V. fan, and the tantalizing shots of shirtless/pantsless Clay. Yumm. Actually, the episode wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, mainly because there was some forward plot action. I do like Jeremy finally acting like a real alpha and (again, finally) understanding that increasing the size of the pack (from basically four?) may be a good idea.
  7. I just love this show. Unusually for me, I like everything about it - the writing, the acting, the casting and especially the puns. I always enjoy watching it, especially for the little things (eye-rolls, etc). I can't believe it hasn't been canceled yet. While this wasn't one of my favorite episodes, that was mainly because of the "whopper" concept - there's so much weird stuff that is actually happening, that telling outrageous lies isn't really obvious. I liked the way BLaine's present came with a big bow, and there can never be too much Robert Knepper.
  8. Well, maybe because I'm not an old X-files fan (never saw it because I saw one episode - flukeman? - that scared me off for good), but I liked it a lot. I thought it was a serious subject, but enough humor to keep me interested. Yes, it was preachy but also amusing. I especially liked high Mulder.
  9. I didn't get the point of the smart plate- if you're eating at home, you can easily obtain the weight and nutritional data of your food before you put it on your plate. How would you use it when eating out - dump your food on it? I can see the value of an app that lets you scan ( take a picture) of your food and looks up the nutrition. If your phone can take a picture, why does your plate need to do so? Aside from the ridiculous price, it didn't even seem like it was an actual product yet. I really got the feeling that there was an awful lot of editing going on. I have lots of questions about all the pitches. I liked the bee(less) ladies, but didn't really understand how their product helps bees. It may make up for a honey shortage because of the bee decrease and meet vegan requirements, but is there any evidence that harvesting honey is harmful? Don't the bees just make more honey?
  10. My favorite part of the episode (since I wasn't impressed by any of the creations) was Mackenzie's dress and awesome shoes.
  11. I didn't see a thread for S10 - about the painting. Am I really the only person in the US still watching this? I have to admit, I really only watch it because I am a huge Anna Silk fan - I am a hetero woman, but there is just something about her that I really find attractive.
  12. I very much like (1) Game of Thrones (HBO) and (2) the Expanse (SyFy)
  13. Wow, that was great. I liked everything about these episodes - the writing, the acting, the sets. I'm so glad SyFy didn't mess up this series, because I really like the books. I liked it so much that for the first time, I checked out the Twitter feed for the show, although I have to admit it didn't really add much for me. While both Holden and Miller were quite different from how I had visualized them, they both turned out to be really good. I liked how they worked together to get back to the ship, how each of them pretty quickly were able to size up the other, I think getting Shohreh Aghdashloo (I am probably her biggest fan, I think she is a beautiful woman and a wonderful actress) was a perfect choice for Chrisjen, although I had forgotten about her bad language until I read the most recent book. I'm kind of surprised but this became my favorite show, the one that I made sure to watch in real time. I was so pleased to see that it's been renewed, since I assumed there wasn't much viewership.
  14. But did he ever tell Jules how he felt? I got the impression that, because of his social awkwardness, he did not That makes him a total passive-aggressive a*hole if he's punishing her for something he didn't communicate. He also is just jealous of her past success, which was due to her own hard work. He seems to be enjoying her "failure." I realize part of that is due to his unquestioning acceptance of Eliot's characterization of the hedge witches, which goes to show his a*holeness yet some more. You've known Julia your entire life, Q, but you can't accept this aspect of her? Be supportive, as she always was to you (yes, she wanted you to grow up and forget the Fillory stuff, but that is good advice from a person who doesn't know that magic is "real"). I didn't read the book(s), so maybe I'm missing stuff here, but Quentin is just awful to me. Not just how he treated Julia (who wasn't spoon fed the existence of magic as he was - so I can totally understand why she didn't realize how important it is to her), but how he takes over from Alice. He seems to think he knows best for everyone. Why is everyone treating him as such a special snowflake, when he's the one really can only do party tricks? Alice - another source of annoyance, maybe because her character makes no sense to me. She's so desperate to find out about her brother, but can't even wait 10 minutes by the pool to see what happens? Before engaging in obviously dangerous spells, maybe talk to someone who was at the school when her brother was? That didn't even occur to her. Also, just because I think the character is poorly written (show-wise), what's with her ridiculous outfits? She wears those unflattering glasses, clutches her books to her chest and keeps her eyes on the ground - but she wears those impractical, short skirts? I think the acting is fine, but the writing is just awful I don't know if that is due to the source material or what, but I'm pretty close to giving up. That's a shame, because this is exactly the kind of show I normally like.
  15. I'll give it one more try, but I don't think I'll watch this. Lucifer as a character is totally lame and not devilish in the least - even Dickie Bennett (Jeremy Davies) was able to resist his power. Chloe's daughter looks very familiar, but is just way too precocious for me. I don't know, the show just doesn't seem to have any charm or wit, although I think the actual acting is fine. Maybe it needs more DB?
  16. I loved it too, it was just so funny. I liked the way all the tropes were inverted, and the fact that the guy (Murray from FLight of the Concords?) was so in character that he slurped his soda like a lizard. I don't know why, but the Peeping Tom set-up just was so over the top it was perfect. Also perfect - the really cheesy monster make up.
  17. I thought the episode was pretty awful, for a number of reasons. First, I don't know if she's just is a bad actress, but Lara as a character is just boring. Talk about a one-note character, yeah, we get that she is an evil bitch who will do anything to protect her meal ticket. I guess I'm just going to have to FF her scenes. Second, I really don't need anymore childhood job stories from Bobby. That's two weeks in a row we've had to listen to his sanctimonious bs that I guess he uses to make himself feel superior. Third, the whole dog poop thing was just over done. yeah, we get that that's the only victory Chuck has. My overall dissatisfaction, though, is how completely unrealistic the show is becoming. I know that it's not a documentary, and my bar of disbelief is set really low, but when it starts getting so ridiculous (like the whole Yum thing) that it insults my intelligence, I'm out of here.
  18. I agree about the pipcorn. Hard to eat, not especially delicious.
  19. I've got to admit that I like it a lot, much more than I thought I would. I liked the books, and just finished the most recent (Nemesis Games), which filled in a lot of the background for various characters. I think the show's done a good job of making it easy to pick up the characters and plot so far. I liked the Montana visit, mainly for (1) Frances Fisher (and in the same episode as Kurtwood Smith!); and (2) the dramatic snow shots of Avasarala in her red coat. I hope they tie Miller/Julie to the Holden plot soon.
  20. "Wow, a scale that measures how much your baby drinks - what a novel way to solve a problem. You'd have think they would have put ounce markings on bottles by now. " No markings on breast milk - I guess that's why she kept stressing it. I have to admit, I didn't under stand the whole point about measuring the baby in order to measure the milk - don't you just feed until the baby stops? Measuring the baby's weight on an on-going basis is important - so why not just say that this is a convenient way to keep track of the baby's weight? Those people were smart, though - knowledgeable in their business and good at business. I laughed throughout the beard bib bit - those folks were a hoot. I don't know how much of a market there is for that, so it will be interesting to see what "Queen Lori" comes up with. Speaking of Lori - I happened to notice that she was on QVC, hawking a fold-out cosmetic case (a variant of her fold-out jewelry case, I guess), which really did look useful.
  21. Wow, I guess this is the Lori reputation rehab show - this is the second time where I thought she was right on with her business advice. She was absolutely correct about the paint brush cover packaging. I guess there is a reason, beyond QVC, why folks want her as their shark. While I liked the lollacup couple, there was way too much of them and their family. There could have been some footage of the design process, or their quest for customers. Don't they go to trade shows? Having a focus group (I'm no statistician, but that seemed like a might narrow sampling, with not much in terms of diversity. Speaking of the focus group - couldn't they have offered some snacks? While Robert was adorable with the children, it doesn't seem like he offered them much actual help. I've never been in retail or other business, but even I know that more types of products = more sales. Obviously, it will appeal to customers with different needs and budgets, and give more opportunities for bundling.
  22. I like it a lot, but the local PBS station that airs it is so hit or miss - sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not. I wish Acorn or netflx carried it.
  23. I thought it was ok, and will probably keep watching. Three things bugged me: (1) the sister/daughter Helen, I don't know if it's bad acting, bad writing or both, but the character was annoying; (2) no way would any FBI agent believe that the FBI son would kill himself in the same place/manner as his father when it was clear they were not close; and (3) the name Duval. That seems so southern, but they are not a family shown to live in/be from the south.
  24. I like this show so much, especially for the little things - like Clive stuffing himself at the buffet, VDC's "dancing robot." Watching this show always puts me in a good mood. I like that Clive recognized how important it was for Liv to be involved, I love David Anders in this. My only concern - I like this show, so I assume it's going to be canceled sooner rather than later.
