  1. Re: Fat Au. He was great - I certainly hope he shows up again. I have to admit, I don't remember him at all. This was a good episode - I really feel for Kurt, I hadn't realized before what a good looking man he is. I know Maggie is using him to get her and her son out of her own situation, but it would be really nice (for a change) if he was able to end the series on a happy note. Was that a random woman at the end, being taken by the serial killer? At first, I thought it was Cruz, being set on by Carrie, but that was not Carrie. Speaking of Carrie - she's really redeemed herself to me by being the one who put so much effort into finding Job, unlike Lucas, who basically just wallowed in self pity.
  2. OttoDbusdruver, I've read your great recaps, too, instead of watching, so thank your for the gift of time you've given me. This whole series had such promise, it's a shame it just never seemed to engage me, despite my Laura V. love.
  3. I'm glad to see that this show is back - it's perfect light TV watching. The contestants all seem like they're not just really good bakers, but also pleasant. I didn't find Dan annoying - I thought he seemed like a very nice guy. As a non-baker, I very much like how they explain not just what they're making, but how. Just about all of those "naked cakes looked great. I admit I laughed at the bathrobe. I wonder if Audrey's cake really tasted so good, or if they were using that as a reason not to eliminate her. I don't know much about the scoring - are taste and presentation given equal weight? One of my favorite things about this show is how Nancy and Lorraine don't seem to like each other.
  4. If the revenants are imprisoned in the town, why does anyone elsewhere (or the feds) care? Although, I guess there is some way for them to leave. I liked the second episode much more than the first, although there was still a lot of exposition. I've finally realized that I really like violence + humor, especially when the violence is non-realistic. I love Wynonna's snark, dislike her sister's failure to understand that there are situations that are urgent (ie, digging up the talisman only after wisecracks). I kind of feel that the sister is a "plot induced stupidity" kind of device, if that makes any sense. I like BoBo a LOT more since he took off his fur clock.
  5. I couldn't agree more. That thing really bothered - especially that robotic voice. I can't imagine any kid wanting to listen to that. I thought the no-phone thing was a joke, too, although I really liked the guys. I guess I can see it as a gag gift - there are a number of people I would give it to!
  6. Glad to see Ken the signalling device abuser dethroned - kind of fitting, actually, since he was out-buzzed early and often. Like Ricky, glad he won. I'm impressed that all 3 contestants got FJ - I had no idea, but then it really seemed obvious, so good for them.
  7. Yeah, I thought FJ was amazingly easy, and I'm amazed that none of the contestants got it. I laughed at the King of England answer, though. If you knew that the 100 years war was basically France v. England, then it was logical that it involved giving up a claim to something French. My only hesitation was whether it referred to one of the French duchys (Burgundy or Normandy or something like that), although my immediate answer was King of France (at least until Alex said it wasn't obvious, which is what made me start to second guess myself). Glad to see Jeff Sky pointer go, especially as he seemed to have a lot of physical discomfort. I like the new champ, other than his habit of not starting at the top.
  8. While I thought it was Burton who killed Rebecca on Proctor's order, now I'm wondering - given the nature of that huge wound - if it weren't Proctor himself. If so, I really, really hope there was no sex involved.
  9. The story, as I remember it, was that after an auto accident or breakdown, he and his family were helped by a scary-looking "redneck" - his word - - and not assaulted or robbed. I also thought it was kind of weird, and didn't really present him in a good light. I know he said it happened 15 years ago, but shouldn't a youth ministry consultant (I think that's what he said he was) especially not jump to conclusions about people's appearances? I liked Udit, and was sorry to see him go. I'm not a fan of the new champ, for the reasons expressed above. He looked liked so uncomfortable during the entire game. I knew Fj was asking for the cereal (since it said "cereal brand"), but had no idea whatsoever. I would have made a big bet, too, since "food and drink" as a category is somewhat accessible.
  10. That's for the recap - I appreciate that you've paid attention, because I certainly didn't. Even the Clay/Elena sexy memory didn't do anything for me. The whole episode was boring and senseless. I found myself distracted by things like Nick's intermittent arm injury - one moment he can't use his arm, the next he's flinging a concrete block around. Yeah, I guess the werewolf budget must have run out, because nobody's doing any shifting, even where it would make sense. On the other hand, love GWORE (agree, it's senseless to keep calling him "the Albino"), Curse my OCD! I am compelled to watch to the end, although, I mainly sit here and think about all the wasted opportunities to go with something awesome.
  11. Sorry! You're absolutely right. I meant Burton (although I did love Chayton as a scary character).
  12. I thought that was a good game, all the contestants seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. Yeah, FJ was an instaget. I got one TS, although I can't remember what it was, now.
  13. I guess I just missed the point of the Yankees segment - I see nothing wrong with recognizing that people who pay a premium price should get something for it. Of course, the club wants to maximize its revenue - its not a non-profit. And premium or not, if I've paid good money for a ticket, I really don't want to have to sit near a loud, obnoxious, slob who paid $2 for his ticket. I think I'm spoiled by all the Donald Trump segments (including this weeks nuclear weapons one), because nothing even comes close to making me simultaneously laugh/goan. Of course, it helps to have good source material.
  14. There was so much I liked about this episode: - the way they caught up - the Sarah Palin 2012 shirt - Brock - he is an awesome sheriff -- the action --- - no Deva (I hope Carrie never gets custody again); - Carrie wearing an actual shirt instead of her usual skimpy top during the Dalton raid - vigilante Carrie. I was sorry to see Rebecca get killed, although it made great plot sense. Is it too obvious that Burton is the killer? Maybe I watch too much Face Off, but i thought Hood's beard looked kind of fake. I'm glad he cleaned himself off. Maybe I am misremembering, but I thought at the end of the last season, everyone (certainly Brock) became aware that he wasn't really Hood. It seems like everyone is still buying into his story. Yeah, I loved the Nazi's brother's work fantasy. Who hasn't thought of stabbing their supervisor to death with a letter opener? Sorry: Instead of Clayton, I meant Burton (Proctor's PA). I have changed my posting to reflect this.
  15. Good heavens, am I the only one watching this? I thought it was ok. Writing was a little clunky, and the actress playing Wynonna was just ok. I'm not really sure what the curse is supposed to be - that when the heir turns 27, he or she can use the gun to send the demons back to hell? That doesn't seem like a curse to me, more like an ability. I did like that there was humor, because I like shows that are violent (and this wasn't all that much, although Carl may disagree) but have humor to lighten the mood. I'll keep watching, at least for a while.
  16. I also liked the April 1 pranks. I missed the Jepardy one. I found lots to like in this game: Milton's story, Oliver's-flame out (primarily because he was so slow), Todd's impressive play (except for FJ,).
  17. Maybe I'm a psychopath, or maybe because I really dislike her whiny, self-absorbed teenager self, but it seems obvious to me that the Centre should "take care of" Paige, Pastor Tim and Alice, either by killing them or sending them to the USSR for rendition. Problem solved! Of course, the Centre would have to be prepared for the Philip/Elizabeth fallout (and possible defection), but that's what Margo M. is for. I lost tract of how many episodes are left, but perhaps possible defection could be next season's arc. William is THE BEST. Eta: sorry, self-absorbed was the wrong word. I was trying to refer to her very narrow, black and white world view, which I see as a result of her youth and naïveté
  18. Nice game tonight. I was surprised Erin did not get "null and void," especially as she works in a law-related field. Perhaps the pressure got to her. I was surprised at the low FJ bets (except for the eventual champ) - I would think that "state capitals" is an area all contestants would study, and feel a certain amount of confide3nce in. It was an instaget for me.
  19. ottoDbusdriver, thanks for the recap-but you forgot to mention the most important thing - no Clay beefcake! As a loyal viewer, those are the moments I savor. What was the significance of the sign outside the GWORE's bar - "under new mandigment" ??? they made a point of lingering on it. ' Yeah, totally lame.
  20. I'm watching Vera on Acorn, and GRantchester (season 2) is on PBS.
  21. S6E2: It was ok, although based on what the dad said (which seemed kind of strange, unless it was going to lead to something) that the carnival owner hated druggies - I thought he could have killed both Brendan (an actual drug user) and Jamie (not realizing that his injections were insulin). Still, I like the series very much, and can't wait for the next episode. It seems like they've prettied up Vera quite a bit - different haircut, although the same dowdy clothes. I very much miss David Leon - besides the fact that he is ridiculously good-looking, he had such an interesting dynamic with Vera.. I was really surprised she didn't rip the DS a new one, given how he kept remonstrating while Vera was questioning Jamie's mother.
  22. This a thousand times. This is why I don't watch the show, just read along sometimes.
  23. I thought this was a great challenge - and the super handsome, charming guest certainly didn't hurt. He was right on - Rob's Tauran would have been much improved by adding a nose ring, although I thought "bipedal cow" was a bit harsh. Walter certainly deserved the win, his character was awesome, although I thought the tail was pretty lame. Melissa dodged a bullet, her character was pretty bad. What a relief not to have to suffer through Mel's moaning and groaning and panicking - it was nice to see her confident for a change. I thought it was interesting that both bottom looks were the female characters.
