  1. The bad news: Tremendously dumbed down clues The good news: The contestants got just about all of them (but really - no one knew Mad Anthony Wayne?) Thank goodness that's over.
  2. I thought the guy asked Damon about his marketing plan only because Kevin had brought it up. It seemed to me that he hadn't even thought about it before that.
  3. Sure, you're right, but I wonder how many other people Gaad would have told specifically he was going to Thailand, since he told Stan when he was at Gaad's house, not at work with other employees around. And, I don't think Stan would have mentioned it to any other non-FBI people, since he doesn't seem to have many (if any) other friends, although he might have mentioned it to Matthew. Anyway. just speculation on my part, of course, since I assume that at some point there is going to have to be some movement toward a plot line where Stan finally catches on to the possibility that Elizabeth and Philip are the spies he's been chasing. I assumed that it was going to be through Martha/Clark, but this could also be something that makes Stan start to wonder.
  4. Poor Gaad! I think this is what makes Stan begin to have suspicions about Philip, since I assume he didn't mention Gaad's vacation to many people. It looked to me like he was thinking about this after Stan told him. Perhaps the Russians should have made more of an effort to make it look like a robbery. I truly hate Paige, and I would have killed her long ago, not just for getting them into this mess in the first place, but her attitude. She refuses to believe that her parents lives are literally on the line, so when they start making plans, she is utterly dismissive. Hey, Paige, I'm pretty sure that Elizabetjh and Philip will be able to support themselves in Russia. I sure wouldn't want that little rat living with me, vastly increasing the stress that Philip and Elizabeth operate under, Speaking of that, it was nice to see Philip relaxing with Kimmie.
  5. Do these celebrity (sorry, "power") players really bring in enough of an audience to make up for the truly awful game play? I couldn't even watch today (Tuesday) it was SO PAINFUL.
  6. I thought that the MRI at the end definitely was an indication that all those lapses - the gun, the fire etc - might be due to a brain problem. I didn't understand the beginning - was that just a robbery?
  7. I was surprised by how dismissive the sharks were to the "car condom." Sure, people like them have no problems replacing their cars - it's like me replacing a pair of sneakers. For a lot of us, though, we do think about the effect on our cars of bad weather. If some flood is predicted, I would really like to be sure my ungaraged car is at least somewhat protected from rain and wind damage (ie, branches, etc). When there is a weather warning or advisory, we secure our property and do our best to make sure our cars are protected, so I can totally see the value of this.
  8. Good catch! I totally didn't recognize her
  9. That game was disgraceful - I can't believe how easy practically every clue was - especially FJ. I don't understand why are they dumbing it down for teachers, who are usually good contestants. To their credit, the contestants did get just about all of them, although there were some surprising TSs - "professorial" ???
  10. Maybe it's me, but I thought that was a wasted episode, except for the Philippines guy. There was nothing new about N. Korea, and I thought all the science stuff was so obvious that it didn't even need to be said. Yes, science is complex, but as a practical matter, what are we going to do about it, other than read science coverage with a grain of salt? I thought that focusing on the Today show bit (Al Roker?) was a cheap shot, that "chose your own study" was obviously a joke, or a comment on how people can be overwhelmed by the study publicity avalanche. On the other hand, the TODD talks was great. DId it show what TODD stands for?
  11. Sorry, hate to bad mouth anybody's mom, but I thought Duff's mom not only added nothing, I was totally repelled by her awful hair. And why did she refer to herself as a "tiebreaker"? Doesn't she know that 4 is an even number? Totally agree that (1) Jane should not have won that challenge, and (2) am sick of her "alcohol love" and giggles. She should have been required to pick her ingredient last, after the way she rushed to the table. Don't personal fouls usually result in a penalty? I don't even know if I'm going to bother to watch next week, since it seems pretty obvious who is going to win. And it's not that cutie, Dan. (hey, I'm an older woman, I can say that!)
  12. Was that Rebecca's grave that Burton dug? it seems like she would have been buried already - and didn't we see her funeral? Anyway, that was a pretty big pile of dirt, and that was a pretty small shovel. Or, was this a dream? I like the season and this episode generally, but there really isn't much Lucas. Yeah, I know he had a belated breakdown and went to a few places with Faith.B.I, but it's like he's a peripheral character. Much as I like Frederick Weller, those "devil horns" look ridiculous, not scary in the least. It's like he has a few lumps on his forehead. I know they needed something immediately recognizable, but how about some distinctive tattoos, or a split tongue or something.
  13. ha ha, I saw what you did there! I have to admit, I immediately thought of V, the tv sho
  14. Saul Tigh! Thanks! I knew I knew him from somewhere . . . .
  15. ClareWalks: Thanks for the excellent product review. I've gotten a number of Shark Tank products over the years, and was thinking about the SheFit, but I', glad I waited. Thanks for taking one for the team!
  16. I was glad that Allison/Donnie/Felix were not just comic relief, although I guess the phone sex was intended to be humorous. I really could have done without that. I never thought I would feel sorry for Rachel, but I do, and hope that she, Ferdinand and Charlotte can go off somewhere and be a family. I'm not really happy about Helena going off on her own - I really hope she is integrated into the main plot sooner rather than later (which I assume is the whole point of her pregnancy).
  17. There were some surprising TSs, although of course, I can't remember what they were. I thought FJ was so obvious - they were all female names, and Venus is the only "female" planet - I was trying to think if any female-named moons had named features, but decided that was just too hard. I totally missed the National Christmas tree. Maybe I'm getting smarter as I get older (or watch more J!), but I think the clues have been pretty easy in this teachers' tournament. Given how good many of the teachers are, I think they could up the challenge a bit.
  18. Perhaps she was just giving him a massage? Without a "happy ending"? I thought it was okay enough to keep watching. I've gotten over the whole anachronism thing, which makes it easier.
  19. ElectricBoogaloo, you made excellent points. I really liked this episode for a number of reasons you've already noted - Cole liking the 40s, Jones calling Ramse out - I wonder if that induced at least a little guilt, which is why he saved Deacon. I think Cassie had a number of reasons for introducing herself as Cole's sister - not just to make it clear that they had no relationship now, but also to allow Cole to continue his useful flirtation with the woman who got them into the event (and perhaps other useful women). I had to laugh at the repeated references t Tommy as "the boy" - I think he looks way too old, he is at least a young man. On the other hand, in Continuum, I thought he looked too young to form the relationships he did. When is Roger Cross going to show up? My main complaint - not enough Jennifer!
  20. No way should Jane have won the preliminary = while her squash tart may have looked and tasted good, it was completely unimaginative, especially compared to some of the other contestants' offerings (like Dan's). It seems clear to me that the producers really want her to win. I have to admire the contestants for putting up with all those awful puns Bobby was making. Ugh.
  21. Minor thing - I very much liked - and thought it was in character - that instead of taking all the credit for arranging the transportation, Oleg gave credit to his colleague for finding the pilot.
  22. I really liked this episode. I love the new Cassie and Deacon, but I especially love everything to do with Jennifer. She is funny and awesome. I was impressed by the show's attention to detail - in the new future, Dr. Jones even looks younger and less stressed out than she did in the original timeline. Cole - maybe killing people didn't accomplish your mission because you were killing the wrong people. Yeah, I don't get the Ramses/ son thing at all - he's known Sam for what, 2 days? And the perpetuation of his genes is so important that billions of people have to die? I liked the hotel fake out - I thought they were going to do something bad to Cole (turn him over to the Messangers or something), not treat him as an honored guest.
  23. Ha, that is SUCH a great description. Better, more descriptive writing than most writing, certainly on tv.
  24. I also am glad Andrew won - he just has a little twinkle that I find very appealing. Except for his habit of starting in the middle, Michael was fine, also. I can't remember what it was, but there was a TS that I thought was pretty surprising because I knew it (and if I did, these folks should have). I think they were all impressive. I'm waiting for someone to post Andrew's belly-dancing pictures.
  25. I got Johnstown (well, I do live in PA), and FJ - although I would have spelled it Haley. I really like Andrew a lot - not just his knowledge and fast signaling, but he seems pleasant and has no annoying mannerisms (ie, signal device abuse, starting in the middle, etc). I admit he's probably my #3 favorite contestant - Ken is #1 (for his humor, as well as his obvious mastery) and Julia is #2, for her lovely personality (and good performance). I hope he sticks around for a while, to let me get my enthusiasm for the show back.
