  1. Not sure if this is the place for it, but Season 3 DVDs are shipping, mine are on the way from Amazon. I don't have HBO, so I only saw a few episodes of the first couple of seasons when they originally aired when my cable company had a free weekend. I bought Season 1 & 2 last fall, and spent four long nights watching them all - coffee was my best friend at work that week! Can't wait for these to arrive - I have the coffee pot on standby!
  2. I don't remember the last time I turned off the radio in a car I drove - in fact, in my new car, there isn't an "off" switch for the radio. You can turn the volume all the way down, but it's part of an integrated system, with no way to turn it off entirely.
  3. Just saw this new commercial from Tylenol - I'm sure the usual parties will complain, but I think it's great!
  4. I guess as a fellow New Yorker, I didn't find Raf to be particularly annoying...
  5. Given the nature of the show, I'm sure the little girl would have continued to kill as she got older. And I agree, BW, that was a creepy look she gave the little boy at the end.
  6. On NBC Nightly News last night, during their coverage of Trump's presidential announcement, they said something along the lines of "NBC has a relationship with Trump..." I haven't heard if they are pulling his show while he is officially a candidate. If not, I can see that causing problems with equal time rules.
  7. I hope we get to see you on the show at some point as well, Abstract!
  8. The book was "Bridge Over the River Kwai" the movie was "Bridge On the River Kwai". I'd have to rewatch, but I believe the clue referred to the book.
  9. Just like the FJ clue earlier in the week about Beethoven's Fifth, I sat there today without a clue until it suddenly popped into my head at the last moment. More ridiculous judging with the "Bridge on the River Kwai" answer - they've ruled people wrong for adding an "s" to a name, but that guy got credit for "Bridge over...um...on...the river Kwai" after being prompted for more than "The River Kwai".

Opening day in New York - I'd believe it. Went to a couple of home openers at Shea where you couldn't wear enough it was so cold.
  11. Yes, Billy Graham is still alive, he turned 96 last November. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Graham
  12. You'll never have to worry about making that mistake with Abe Vigoda
  13. You're not the only one who felt that way... Why the ‘Entourage’ film was a total flop
  14. They did for many years at my old high school. When my class had its 20th reunion, the planners decided to go to an outside location, and didn't get much cooperation from the school staff in tracking people down.
  15. "Pickup" as in how well (and quickly) it accelerates when you mash the gas.
  16. Franklin Graham is pulling Billy Graham Association accounts from Wells Fargo over ads featuring same-sex couples to "fight moral decay". He is also calling on Christians to boycott Wells Fargo as well as Tiffany & Co. because the jeweler has advertised wedding rings for same-sex couples.
  17. It would be better than much of the crap on the air these days...
  18. Don't be that person, Meep...HSB aired 1981 - 1987, Cop Rock aired in 1990.
  19. Who is someone who's never been in my kitchen?
  20. Damn, I forgot this was starting last night...fortunately, USA airs it 47 times before the next new episode, so I should be able to catch it. BTW, I've been back home on Long Island the past couple of weeks, and saw signs for some of their filming locations. Didn't run into any of the cast this time though.
  21. Yes he did...
  22. Well, it was before your time...
  23. I guess Blatter was serious when he said he was going to get rid of the corruption in FIFA...
  24. If they get hungry enough they will...
