That's because team owner Fred Wilpon grew up in Brooklyn as a Dodger fan, and built Citi Field as a tribute to the team and Ebbets Field.
  2. I've always pronounced it that way.
  3. I don't mind the nearly-naked Hannah so much, but yes, the talking horse is a little creepy - he's no Mr. Ed!

I've been a Met fan since I was just a little Moose - went to my first game at Shea in 1969. Been to Citi half a dozen times, and it is a nice park. And Mojoween, we'll be glad to take you back.
  5. I've had beer cheese soup a number of times, it has melted cheese, beer, and a number of other ingredients. It's very good, actually.
  6. That might make it the most perfect movie of all time!
  7. I know, it must have been hell cashing those checks every week...
  8. Just don't jump around the board, or we will snark on you! Good luck to you both!
  9. Twelve years of Catholic school, I thought that was way too easy for FJ.
  10. That scene between Martin and John is 18 kinds of awesome.
  11. Because they have completely run out of script ideas, so we are doomed to an eternity of remakes of old stuff.
  12. But if they did that, it would put all of those class-action lawyers out of business, and we'd have to find a whole new batch of commercials to snark on!
  13. Thank you - I've thought the same thing every time I hear that stupid phrase.
  14. I hadn't really noticed those commercials until a couple of months ago, when Brian Vickers, the race car driver in them, had to stop driving (again) because of a re-occurrence of blood clots forced him back on medication. I'm not sure that's a strong endorsement of the product.
  15. Like other parts, natural is usually better.
  16. It would be easier and less expensive to lock the kids in the trunk when you travel...
  17. The category referred to UC Berkeley - they are called the Golden Bears. Peck attended Berkeley before becoming an actor. And I too was surprised it was a TS. For FJ, I guess the Dodge Brothers, assuming it had something to do with transportation, and knowing it wasn't the Wrights.
  18. More bad news for the Pats...
  19. It certainly helped the Mets!
  20. Damned autocorrect!

But seriously, how many "normal" fans really look at performance when voting, rather than simply vote for the popular players on their favorite team?
  22. Thanks for that, Gary - I see the line was a "mallard with a cold..." He probably should have disappointed Grandpa and skipped the impression.
  23. I couldn't believe Gomer Pyle was a $2,000 clue in the Military TV category, and was heartbroken when it was a TS... I got Havana right away - New York City almost would have been the right answer, but part of it (The Bronx) is on the mainland. It was actually "What's the difference between you and a man with a cold..." but he didn't really have a punch line.
