  1. That was the only thing I could think of, so I was glad I was correct. And I'll count one of the clues in the Saints category as a personal shout out - my name is John, and my birthday is June 24 - the feast of St. John the Baptist. I was seriously disappointed that no one got it...
  2. Wow, I'm glad I don't work with you, Brattinella...
  3. You're not alone, Totale. My first thought was Sundance, but I thought "Isn't that in Colorado?" I might have guessed that just to give an answer, but I would have been surprised to find it was correct.
  4. As I noted above, I had pre-ordered them and watched the entire series once I received them. Yes, there are still a few songs that are different, but they kept most of it, and I think it's definitely worth having them. They did a decent job of working around the Pink Floyd "Dogs" issue, and that was always one of my favorite scenes, so I'm happy with the way they handled it. You won't get anything better than this, and I think they are absolutely worth the money for a WKRP fan.
  5. I still don't know what the hell they were thinking at Nationwide when they approved that ad...
  6. I was just watching that episode thinking the same thing!

I'm a little bit older than you - I grew up on Long Island, and was in college when the Islanders made their big run. I never followed hockey as a kid, only starting to follow the sport when the Isles were born in 1972. Hated the Rangers, and do like the Devils - mostly because our old friend, Chico Resch, was in goal for them when they moved from Colorado. Now that I'm in Charlotte, I've been listening to their games (broadcast on Radio Hofstra!) on Sirius. I still hate the Strangers...
  8. That would have been awesome!
  9. But in general, it seems they usually allow you to give extra words, as long as what you give is correct.
  10. I had muted the TV during the commercial break, so I missed the Hitler story, I'm not sorry about that. Got FJ right away. I was annoyed at the randomness of needing/not needing full names when they accepted "Unser" as the 4-time Indy 500 winner, rather than "Al Unser", after including "his brother Bobby" in the clue. I thought they ruled him incorrect on that, but I may be mistaken.
  11. I just saw this from a local car dealer here in Charlotte...
  12. I think you are right about the song, and yes, Venus is holding the Gigi album, but on the new DVDs, they play The Carpenters.
  13. Thank you - I've never looked at it close enough to see that.
  14. I remember seeing that two or three times in the past couple of weeks.
  15. I don't like Progressive or Flo either, but I'll never not laugh at "Sprinkles are for winners..."
  16. Every time I see it, I think he's saying the German "nein" rather than the English "Nine", and it always makes me think of Laurence Olivier asking "Is it safe?" Somehow, I don't think that's what they are going for with this spot...
  17. I'm not a Patriots fan - although since my Giants beat them twice in the SB, I hold no ill will towards them. But if it's in the rule book, it's legal, right? I want my team to be smart enough to find things in the rules that the other guys don't that give them an advantage. That's all part of the game - everyone gets the same set of rules, and if one team is able to find something the other guys don't, I say good for them.
  18. What's that old saying? Dogs have owners, cats have staff...
  19. But honestly, there was very little of any storylines carried from episode to episode. Sure, there were recurring characters and themes, but for the most part, each episode was a stand alone slice of life.
  20. The crazy part about that? "West Wing Cast Reunites Nine Years After Finale" Nine years? Are you kidding me? How the hell has it been nine years???
