  1. Since the girls' "adult" was murdered, they decided to kill off the boys' "adult"? Some things about this show make absolutely no sense. And I'm not 100% positive I believe they have a clear plan.
  2. I kind of wondered if it wasn't sold as different things to different people for both the girls and the boys. Like it seemed for Dot it was going to be a retreat to 'reward' her for all her hard work with her father, but I think for Fatine, Shelby and maybe Toni it was more a punishment kind of situation. Seems the same way for the guys. Like for Bo and his friend whose name I still don't know it seemed to be a consequence for their destruction of the house, but for Josh it was billed as a wilderness retreat to "toughen him up." Was Gretchen's son supposed to be the boys' adult like Jeanette was for the girls?
  3. I think it was her son. When she met up with him she said something about forgiving him. So I think he felt angry and gave the stuff to Ian but then felt guilty because he did so he called his mom to warn her.
  4. No you're 100% right on the advantages the boys have had that the girls haven't. I guess you could make the argument that the girls got some of the debris from the plane, but they definitely didn't get a bunker full of food or abandoned fishing nets. I had the same thought during that conversation, the girls got nothing while the boys got a lot. (And even when they got the medical supplies I believe, although could be wrong, it was only after something happened and they needed medical supplies. AND the boys had all of Josh's meds so it seems like they got more suitcases than the girls did.) I do wonder if Gretchen and her team didn't know the food bunker was there. I could see that since it was covered over her team never discovered it. Or conversely did the girls' island have a mysterious food bunker the girls never knew about and never found. Another advantage the boys had that the girls didn't (although I suppose Dot was supposed to be this role) was they had an actual Boy Scout in the group. They train for this kind of thing. I know Dot watched all the survival shows with her dad and maybe before his illness went out and did activities like that, but I can't remember how long he had been sick so it was likely it was at least a year or two since she last used any of those skills.
  5. So did the guy who brought the boat die? They didn't address that. I want this to be a 4 season show and then done. I'm fine with a combo group next year but then season 4 be what happens when they return to regular civilization and their lives and then that's it. I don't want it to drag on too long so that it becomes unbelievable.
  6. What boat is Shelby talking about? I've rewatched all of season 1. I've watched all the episodes thus far. I have no recollection of a boat.
  7. Isn't there an episode of BBT where Sheldon goes to see his mother in Texas and he walks in on her having sex with the pastor? I searched but can't find it. I THINK it is one where Sheldon was there and the guys go and bring him back to CA.
  8. I assumed there was a lot of classism and racism there. Abishola is a nurse which is a "respectable" profession (and who saved Bob's life). Olivia is a bus driver. Abishola is a recent immigrant from Nigeria and Olivia is somehow has family from Mexico. I can see in her mind how Abishola would be "better." Also, as mentioned above, it totally did not help at all that she was cutting on Douglas which she felt reflected poorly on her. (It also didn't make me like her either because Douglas isn't a trash human.)
  9. I think that's to keep the uniformity of the exterior of the cake. If they had a jelly or crumble, when they do the frosting around the outside, it wouldn't be as uniform between the layers and so the jelly could ooze out or the crumble could make the edge look rough right there. I do agree that it is weird and I wouldn't like that if I were enjoying a delicious curd and then discover the rest is all butter cream.
  10. Sadly, for me, I'll be sucked into watching these until they stop making them. 🤣 That being said, it is Spring Baking Championship, not Spring Dessert Championship. I would like it better if they were given the opportunity to do more non-dessert baking. I think maybe once every season they throw in a non-dessert savory challenge, but that's it. Plus since they get dinged on having to make decorations "look like spring" it really limits their ability to do non-dessert baked goods. One thing I LOVE about the Great British Bake Off is all the different things they make each week, variations of bread I've never heard of... It will probably never happen, but I would love to see a variety in their bakes so they aren't always defaulting to cake/cupcake which seems to be what the bakers do if they aren't told "bake this specific thing." I think, although I could be wrong, this episode they were allowed to bake whatever they wanted as long as it had wine and cheese and they all defaulted to some type of cake. I mostly blame the decoration requirement for this default. Looking back at the previous episode list on Wikipedia, frequently the requirement is to bake a cake. That does get old fast.
  11. I think it had a lot of potential, but felt like it just petered out. It was like they didn't know what to do with it.
  12. This I agree with. There are younger, less spastic and attractive women who find it hard landing one guy - and here's Kat ending a relationship with one, kissing another and have casual sex with yet another in, what...less than a month? There's a line from one of my favorite movies, 10 Things I Hate About You, where the main guy character says, "What's this chick got, beer flavored nipples?" Everytime Kat has a new guy interested in her, I think of that line. I like Mayim. She is not conventionally beautiful. The men who are pursuing her, are conventionally beautiful. And, at least based on the characterization of the men, 2/3rds wouldn't be interested in her at all. I don't buy Nick or Max wanting to be with her.
  13. I definitely agree. Chukwuemeka is much more in the wrong here than Bob is. He KNEW what would happen if he said something. I can't remember if Abishola told Bob not to tell anyone or not. I generally like Abishola, but yes she was definitely in the wrong this episode. I wonder if she can't bear the thought of "owing" so much if she thought about how much help she received.
  14. That's what I was hoping too. Jacob was much purer of heart then Dumbledore. That was the whole point of him going along. He was willing to stand up for what was right even though he had no magic. Otherwise there was no point for him to go. Plus this means Dumbledore took a man with no magic to help fight a wizard fight. It is in line with future Dumbledore behavior but definitely doesn't say "pure heart" to me.
  15. I'm team anybody but Daya and Bosco. (Only because they were eliminated, not really for any other reason). I do feel badly that Daya has been Doxxed and receiving threats. There's no call for that. Apparently I didn't pay close attention because I didn't notice a little showmance between Angeria and Lady Camden, but they were cute and I'm hoping for a Drag Race wedding. 🙂 I also like Willow Pill and Kornbread's friendship. It is sweet. Bonus, we got Willow Pill called Willow Pill and not Wiwwwoww Piww.
  16. I don't necessarily think proposing after a year of dating is too soon. However, it seems like in this year of dating they have never had a discussion about where the relationship is going, or talked at all about marriage.
  17. I NEED to know why James turned her down. He's clearly into her. However, I kind of hope this is not one of those miscommunications where she dashed out in embarrassment before he said "I can't on Saturday, but how about Friday night?" Because that would also seriously irritate me.
  18. The man part was boring. I liked the twins thinking about and looking at colleges. I especially liked Diane being the one upset that Jack was thinking about going somewhere that she's not going.
  19. On a lesser show they would have had Janine decide to be brave by moving to New York City and ending on a cliffhanger of whether or not she goes. I was so glad that they didn't go there and she got brave and broke up with Tariq.
  20. That's 100% why I had to listen to it 3 times. I thought he said Twins and Beary the first several times too but Honeybee's response didn't make sense.
  21. I had to rewind it three times to catch what the Log Museum curator said to the Tobin children. He called them Twigs and Beary. 🤣
  22. With so much focus on Angeria and her friendship with Willow I had to come and be spoiled to be sure she wasn't going home. ☺️
  23. I thought the sprinkles were an interesting twist. I had no idea how they were made and I loved that Jaleesa actually made sprinkles as opposed to colorful desiccated coconut. Compared to so many twists they've had in the past, this one was fairly innocuous. (Coffee and apple, anyone? That one may have been a different version of this show) Once I googled cookie salad I immediately texted my friend who lives (and grew up) in North Dakota. She knew about it and laughed and then mentioned a similar abomination called an apple, snickers salad.
  24. I was going to say maybe Columbus isn't super ethnically diverse, except according to Google, they take a lot of Afghan refugees and presently 9% of their population is Afghani. So that blew my theory on that out of the water. (They're in Columbus OH, right?) Since they've done such a careful job with Al and his views and assimilation, I believe they'll allow him to explore a more wild side without him losing everything he believed in. It would be interesting to see if he were to stay a virgin until marriage.
  25. I lived in Alaska for 5 years and spent 4 summers working at a summer camp up there. moose can be very dangerous. I remember we'd get a mama moose in our lake and her dang baby would be in the trees and we'd be stuck in our cabin or in the craft room because you don't ever walk between the two. Also I remember someone upthread talking about the house they live in. It is very Alaskan to just keep adding on bits and pieces to an existing house.
