  1. And yet in Season 18 they just had a tie dye challenge. (I'm rewatching old episodes as I watch the new one) I have been rewatching older seasons and the bias is there as well. Some, like Liris, could do really well with the garments and walk fiercely, but there was another plus size model who just lumbered. I think there was an episode where the designer who had her said that he could dress her in way she could shine, but it hasn't been the designers, it was her.
  2. Christian's critique caused her to change her look.
  3. I think I read somewhere in the past (possibly here) that the runway is filmed twice. Once, truly anonymously with no reaction from the designers (or possibly with the designers not even there) and once with the designer interaction.
  4. I can't disagree with the bottom two sadly. Both Kandy and LaLa did not create outfits as fabulous as the other outfits. But I am disappointed that Alexis went back on her "word." I know LaLa wasn't going to win, but of the ones left, personality wise, she was my favorite. So this was disappointing.
  5. Inconceivable! I think Jaymes is right and Kandy eliminated a threat.
  6. Last night's episode felt like a series finale, although according to Google a 4th season is still up in the air. It hasn't ben cancelled yet, but not renewed either. It was a weird episode. I spent far too much time trying to figure out how Wally and Brenda had such a nice wedding given that nobody on this show has any money.
  7. I think those are the things he was trying to do but wasn't fully ready to open yet when Calvin pushed him to open.
  8. He totally did. I was expecting them to rip him for it. They did not. It bothered me because usually they're so specific about how if you say something is a something, macaron, eclair, dacquoise, etc it should actually be that thing.
  9. I feel like I was taking crazy pills every time Kyle said he was making a macaron ice cream sandwich. I've made macaron ice cream sandwiches. I love them. That was not a macaron. It had no feet. It spread. It looked like a chocolate chip cookie with no chocolate chips. They loved it. I'm so confused. The first hour Demaris was better than second hour Demaris. She was kind of all over the place the second hour. Definitely the banging the cookie was OTT.
  10. That's why it isn't on the episode anymore. I was doing a re-watch of older All Stars seasons. I always mute that part because I hate it. I'm definitely also not sad I'm missing that. I don't know if it is because so many of them are using such giant breastplates now or if they're just not using enough make up to blend, but in many of the outfits, their boobs just seem excessively unnatural. With many you can tell they're fake and I don't remember it being this bad in previous seasons. They look very shiny and vinyl. I'm apparently feeling cranky, but I also don't think 14th place, 12th, 10th, 11th and 9th place finishers make up "All-Stars."
  11. I googled him. He does a sort of fancy dessert things and teaches baking classes. He does the financiers.
  12. It almost made me want to try to make a crepe cake. I've never made a crepe, nor have I ever had a crepe cake. I was sad to see the two go, but they were really the correct two.
  13. I doubt the show thinks this deeply, but it makes me think about the sexism/misogyny she must have experienced as a child. Dottie had to be 'tough' to make it and she was the only girl of the 3 kids. If she wasn't as tough as her mother then clearly she was the 'emotional' one. Dottie is emotionally/verbally abusive to the kids now. If Christine was a sensitive child, Dottie wouldn't have held back in being unkind to her which furthers the cycle. I loved Abishola sharing photos with Dele and wanting to tell him about her life, to a point. It's an interesting balance for her. She doesn't want to be shut out of his life like Kemi was with her son. I don't really know how socks are made. What did Douglas do that caused his injury? Or how did he injure himself on that machine? (Or are we not supposed to ask and just assume that sock making machines are dangerous)
  14. I understand everything was completely above board, but there are lesser shows out there who would have made that a plot point, miscommunication and confusion about the tickets causing some ridiculous blow up and resolution. I appreciate that they did not take that route.
  15. I like that often these episodes go in a way I'm not expecting. I'm not sure why but when Calvin won the tickets and they all went to the show, I expected there to be upheaval because of the optics of the principal of the school winning the auction tickets. So I was pleased that wasn't even a subplot at all.
  16. I legit thought they weren't going to send James and Godoy home. They both were far more skilled than Megan and maybe Deonte. Am I late to the party amd they originally released these episodes week over week? Otherwise I don't see the point of waiting to announce the ones going home until the next episode.
  17. I had assumed Missy was driving too slowly. They had a little chat about her speeding or driving slowly but I could see her thinking that 30 or 35 wasn't slow but in a 45 speed zone it would be considered slow. She seemed to be on a back country road between communities so somewhere between 45 & 55 was probably the speed limit. If you're not used to driving 45 can feel FAST. (At least as a parent teaching a teenager to drive it does. 😆)
  18. I'm new to the show so I'm watching previous seasons as well as this one. It was season 2 and Nate and Jeremiah did that. They won the episode but did not win overall. I'm with all of you about the specificity of the downstairs and how illogical it was to me. Especially since they don't leave the furniture. So you have a massage room but then the new home owner would have to buy massage tables for themselves? (Or I guess the masseuse would bring them?) The rich do live a different life than I do. One of the things I struggle with regarding this show is the waste. They have a generically built out house and they pull down perfectly good walls and cabinets. Sometimes they reuse the cabinets, but other times they don't. It bothers me.
  19. I believe they do have an oven at their station as well. I've seen people put things into the oven near them. I believe it is either a size or an oven type issue. The ovens at their station seem to be smaller, standard kitchen oven size and the others on the wall are bigger. They may also be convection but I don't know enough about baking to know if that would be good or bad or nothing at all.
  20. Bread. Rolls. Buns. There are a lot of baked goods that aren't cake. I've always been struck by how much this show (in all of its iterations, Holiday and Halloween as well) relies on cakes instead of the entire gamut of baked goods that are possible. That has always been Nancy's thing, a very limited definition of what the theme is.
  21. You're right! I forgot about that.
  22. Is there a real Lou and Linda? Since IRL Erika is actually a boy I've always figured some of the ancillary characters like Lou and Linda and Ginzy and the other lady are amalgams of other people Adam knew growing up.
  23. If ever Ru was going to have a Shante you both stay moment I think it should have been this one. I thought they both killed that lip sync. But of the two, I'm glad Anetra stayed. I think in general she has more talent.
  24. @HurricaneVal, I would love all of that! I don't find Elias particularly entertaining, so I'm glad he was just on this episode. I wouldn't want him to be around all the time. Right. No pants, Pete, Alberta and Hetty all know that the Revolutionary War ended and at the very least Pete and Trevor would know that the US and Britain fought on the same side through several wars.
  25. Tourists, seasonal laborers who come in for the fishing season. I don't know if Lone Moose has their own cannery but that would also be a source of lovers.
