  1. The actors themselves are only 5 years apart. I don't think it is a full generation separating them. I assumed she was not the same age as his mother and that his mother was the same age/generation as Tunde and Olu and Abishola's mother. I assumed she might be on the older side of Abishola's generation and him on the younger side. If she had children young and her children had children young it isn't out of the realm of possibility to have grandchildren by 45. I think what makes him seem so young is his dependency on his mom and his general naivete. Pharmacy school seems to be around 4 - 6 years so at the very youngest he'd be 30.
  2. I wonder if it is because the classically trained chefs have a hard time with being creative. (Well with the exception of the year the chef who rightfully got mad about sprinkles left). It seems they often have a harder time "putting their own spin" on dishes.
  3. Between the gender reveal and last episode's grandmother shower, they're normalizing the worst possible trends. I liked the name Penelope. I don't really like Daphne. I don't particularly like this storyline at all. Will Daphne be The Neighborhood's Cousin Oliver?
  4. I agree. I think that's what got her the win. He made a tiramisu cake but it was basically the same thing as a tiramisu. She made something completely different that gave the idea of a key lime pie without being an actual pie.
  5. During a white-out a person can die. It is easy to get disoriented because you can't even see 5 feet in front of you.
  6. He told them he took the bus. He remembered where the stops were and read the timetables. At some point he asked Sam to pay the bus company back a dollar.
  7. But a lot of times 18 year old kids don't make the best decisions for their future career path. One of my former foster kids wants to go to college for theater/acting. Is this smart? Not at all. But it is a means to a college degree which ultimately will benefit her as a whole. I appreciated that Dele didn't get into Julliard because so often on TV anyone who wants to go there gets in even when their skills and talent don't match the rigorous requirements.
  8. I was bummed he didn't want kids, but I appreciate that unlike other shows they addressed it fairly early on and were able to amicably break up because, as grown ups, they realize they have different goals in life. It was a very healthy representation of what sometimes happens in relationships. It does seem like it doesn't know what the show is/will be. Maybe with the paper being sold will create some storylines for Lexi and the team as workplace changes occur. Although I hope this doesn't mean they add a bunch of new characters.
  9. I really liked Goodwin buying the company. I liked everything about his pitch to buy. We know Goodwin can be a bit of a tyrant, but hopefully he learned some things from Bob. That made me happy. I also LOVED Bob not wanting to sell to the Japanese since he couldn't guarantee the current employees' jobs.
  10. I just assume that since they're on the road system, not all villages in Alaska are, they are able to drive up and down to the little communities that are dotted all over. I really liked that Carissa just wasn't into that guy. Not that she wasn't into him because he was gay or her cousin, but that he just wasn't her type. So many shows would have gone down the gay or family member way. Fat Bear Week is in October. Some get names, for reasons I don't know some don't. It is fantastic.
  11. I really like Nicky. I was worried when she said she hadn't had a win yet she was going home this episode. I'm sure she's not going to win, but I do like her a lot. I think this is Alex's to lose. Maybe Stephen's. While I do like Nicky, I was a tad annoyed with her "I've never done buttercream flowers before" thing. You knew you were coming on the SPRING Baking show. You had to know piping would come into play. Why wouldn't you practice this before you came? If you're on The Amazing Race, you have to learn to drive a stick. If you're on the Challenge you have to learn to swim. If you're on a baking show you have to learn to pipe flowers.
  12. Do y'all know, does 2nd and 3rd place win anything? If not it seems a bit unfair that someone who went out in the first round has the potential to win $50,000, but 2nd and 3rd get nothing. Except, I suppose, the extended exposure of being on the show. I dunno. Exposure doesn't necessarily pay the bills.
  13. While I don't like the twists, I'm more okay with them being something innocuous like add an edible flower decoration or add a blown sugar decorative piece. When they add flavors halfway through it is just ridiculous. I totally agree about the green apple twist the coffee flavored cake person got. It would be nice if they would be allowed to bake other things in the main heat. They make cakes all the dang time. The show is Spring BAKING championship, not Spring CAKE championship. Why not an Easter bread? Or a sugar cookie garden. Maybe a hot cross buns display. Anything that isn't cake.
  14. I apparently don't follow entertainment news and had no idea there was a Georgie Mandy spinoff in the works. I'm not sure it is necessary unless they get Jerry O'Connell to do the voiceovers ala Jim Parsons. As a longtime atheist (however former Catholic) I wouldn't care if my parents baptized my kid because it doesn't mean anything to me. I found it interesting that Georgie viewed it as a "just in case" kind of thing vs Mandy who felt it was interfering in her parenting. It is interesting in that it reflects the the way they were both raised in that Georgie kind of just does what he wants and mostly gets away with it since Sheldon is the golden child and Mandy, as the only child, was probably kept on a short leash. Even now, as an almost 30 year old woman, she's still treated as a child. It also reflects that she was probably raised in the church including the CCD and Confirmation.
  15. That would make sense as did the Baumler's fish cleaning station. Otherwise, what they did didn't make a lot of sense to me.
  16. I've never had it but I googled a recipe to try to make it myself. I'm already intimidated because the sauce requires a scotch bonnet pepper. If I decide to make it myself I'm going to have to go significantly less than that. 😆 I liked the episode. My sister and I aren't very competitive. Neither of us wants to be the matriarch of the family. I did love Bob's reaction to the off the rack suit. I would imagine Billy Gardell had a similar reaction.
  17. For my guide on DirecTV last night it listed the rerun too. I had to manually program the recording, BUT it cut off because I think this was a 2 hour episode? Or an hour and a half? I don't know but the next show started on time and so I didn't see the finished products.
  18. 100 years ago when I was in college, our beds could either be separate or bunked. It is possible they rearranged the room to bunk the beds to give them more space for activities. I do recall the beds were separate when Sheldon first met this dude.
  19. The funny part for me is that for the first half of the season I completely forgot she was there. I kept thinking, who is the other blonde one. I don't like Asaf because he came across as very entitled and Jay protecting him at all costs seemed odd to me. I listened to the Official Challenge Podcast and they were chatting with Laurel. I'm disappointed they didn't go harder on Jay. They were disappointed in him for not taking accountability for the Olivia stuff but no commentary at all on the Nurys gaslighting. (They did talk about the gaslighting but it was more in the context of the Olivia situation). I did find it interesting that part of the reason Laurel went so hard on Callum was related to Nicole. I guess there's some past history there he was super supportive of Nicole on some show they were all on, not The Challenge but an Ex on the Something, and she's still mad about that. She apparently lit into him while they were all out together between day 1 and day 2 which is why she thinks he is actually semi-contrite when he cried this episode. Oh and he's apparently super "famous" in Europe and not used to people calling him on his baloney.
  20. I liked that Nurys got her say with Jay. I wish she had also focused on his manipulation of her. He was trying to play the victim but he was constantly manipulating her so that she'd have to 'prove' her loyalty. Based on his whole demeanor and presence, I hope he won't return. He was very hostile the whole second part. I also hope his girlfriend dumps him and I appreciate Olivia coming clean about whatever happened with them. Callum is still icky. I don't necessarily understand the Kyland/Asaf fight, nor did the captioning provide me with what they were saying. 🤣 I get it was about mothers and testosterone. I suppose that's really all there is to it.
  21. It was awhile back but I think I was fine with them not allowing the cat to actually test the unsteady build, but more how OTT the hosts were about the safety of the cats. Their level of gravitas was excessive.
  22. I think we talk about this every year, but this isn't the first season of the show. They know there will be create your own runway looks at least once if not twice. If you don't already know how to sew, you should be buying a cheap ass machine off Craigslist and pulling up some Youtube tutorials. I know not all fabric sews the same and that there are differences between this and that and putting in a zipper and sleeves and all that. But have some basic sewing skills at least. I'm surprised Plasma went home so early. For no real reason I didn't care for her, but I figured she'd be top 3 easily.
  23. Michelle only didn't make it to the final because of the automatic out for coming in last. Jay did make it, so I guess it did work for them THIS season. Future seasons, hard to know and unlikely. I don't know why Melissa and Big T in their matchy clothes and tiaras annoyed me but they did.
  24. I thought it was a conference room he set up to recreate the bar and show her what happened.
  25. For some reason I thought she said Cassidy when she was talking to Mx. Geoffries. So was Mx.Geoffries' first name originally Cassidy and they changed it? That could have been the source of confusion. I was sad about Jacob and Zach. I really liked them together. I wonder why the show decided to break them up. It isn't like we see Zach that often. I did appreciate Zach's vengeful spirit, though. Shrinking all Jacob's clothes is funny.
