  1. The good: We got to see a little of Horatio, even though he wasn't physically there. The bad: Nobody jumped on Jay yet. Maybe Part 2 (also the bad, there is a part 2) The ugly: Callum
  2. My DVR didn't pick it up at all and I couldn't find it through On Demand so I had to watch it on HBOMax. I use DirecTv though, not Comcast. It seems like FN labeled it wrong then.
  3. She's always struck me as such a rules follower that even if it was practically legal she'd still not do it. Plus, isn't her mom and/or possibly her sister a hot mess? If I remember right she had to parent her parent which tends to make a person less inclined to do the things that caused that.
  4. I liked that this final was a good balance of things that meant the women weren't automatically out. I think some finals in years past were definitely stacked towards the men at the checkpoints. Nurys legitimately had a shot and could have won this. I agree. I liked those seasons a lot. There were definitely things I would have wanted to change about them but it was fun watching CT and others squirm about having to go in to get their skull.
  5. I had to Google this because where I grew up it was 18. Interesting that until the late 80s it was 16 in PA. I didn't like this episode. Pot is still illegal for recreational use in PA so it seems out of character for Janine to smoke it daily.
  6. Add me to the list of folks who don't like where this pregnancy storyline is going. This is out of character for Marty. Courtney is not looking good here either. I was really hoping that when the whole production over the test happened it was going to be only 1 line.
  7. Are we only getting 10 episodes of this last season because the season was cut short due to the strikes? Would we have gotten the standard 22 if there hadn't been a strike? If they're now only getting 10 episodes total, I can see how some (many) things will get swept under the rug. I don't think they're going dementia for Tunde. I think it's just an older/slower storyline.
  8. I'm bummed that Mei Lin might be going against Leann Wong in the next bracket. I want Leann to win ultimately but I like Mei a lot and would like her to go far.
  9. I felt this Rusical was a little more inequitable than previous years in terms of parts. If you weren't Plasma's, Saphira's or Plane's roles you barely had any role at all. Maybe that was the point but really it would be difficult for any of the others to even be in top let alone win. And unless one of the big 3 totally screwed the pooch they would be top 3. Megami isn't the only one to sport that hat. I've been watching previous seasons and it is an oddly popular hat. It's so ugly I don't know why so many love it.
  10. I chuckled at his challenge to Edward about not being the tallest in the room for a change.
  11. While I was watching the episode I did expect to see Flower come wandering in out of the forest all confused about what everyone was so upset about, but the more I think about it I'm glad they actually went there and most likely got rid of her. It challenges our perspective of the status quo and is kind of a big deal to get rid of one of the big 8. They're willing to shake things up in a way that feels authentic to the show. Did they say that Flower was the first sucked off ghost they cared about? There may have been others in the past that we just have never seen. I mean at the very least Thorfinn and Sassapis must have had friendships with sucked off ghosts in the past. I loved that! Some of them kind of are powerless just because their ghost powers aren't that useful, but Thor's has big deal potential. We saw with Hetty's dead husband he was willing to use his power for evil, but this is the first time one of the good ones seemed willing to.
  12. As near as I could tell, though, they hadn't even worked out all the rope placements. I don't think Corey was back with his orange ropes within time at all, but when TJ called 2 minutes they didn't have all the other ropes strung out indicating where they went to just start popping them on the correct locations. If it was 100% on him, they would have been standing there doing nothing with each rope in its appropriate place. I suppose it could also have been that they just gave up because they knew Corey wouldn't be back in time and so decided to save their strength, which is not an invalid strategy. I wish when they couldn't get Jay for the podcast they had found someone else because a lot of the time they address things like this which is why I listen.
  13. Like Bob Hearts Abishola, is this the last season of The Neighborhood? That's the only reason I can see the pregnancy storyline working out. I did appreciate Gemma's little freak out about being Ma'amed. The first time, when you consider yourself still young, is kind of hard.
  14. When they were blaming Corey for the team failure all I could think was THEY were still fucking around with ropes when the time was called. It isn't like they were waiting on his orange ropes to finish. Few of the other ropes were in place. Also, I may have missed the instructions because I had to mute EVERY eating/drinking challenge because of vomiting, but couldn't he have dropped all the other orange ropes and went back for the one he dropped? I was glad Corey picked Jay, although it felt a little too late to me. But maybe that was the ultimate master plan, suck up until the final and then betray. It isn't like Jay didn't betray basically everyone. I listened to the "Official Challenge Podcast" this morning. They were trying to get Jay on for this episode, but he didn't go. He's getting a lot of flack on the socials for "throwing rocks and hiding hands."
  15. Wikipedia says 2, tonight and next week. 🤞
  16. He's done 1 of Survivor, 1 of Ex on the Beach, and now this is his 4th Challenge. I don't think he won any money on Survivor. Unless they are always earning money the longer they are on the show.
  17. I think we've seen in previous seasons, CT and Bananas not withstanding (and even they aren't as big as some of these guys), that a lot of the musclebound guys don't have the necessary endurance to win a final. They can win the brute strength dailies, but running is not their forte.
  18. I'm over the burger finger. I don't need to hear about it. I'm not a seamstress, but I think stretch fabrics are harder to work with?
  19. It was predicted in last week's episode thread but I HATED the little celebratory dance that Jay and his cronies were doing about Horacio and Kyland going home at the top of the episode. Honestly what pigs. Horacio was allegedly his friend. Who does that to a friend?
  20. This season has lasted approximately 100 years. Who can remember that far back? 😆 Also nope I didn't remember that.
  21. I listened to Horacio's interview on the Challenge Podcast. I found it interesting and it made me really appreciate who he is as a person. 1. He said that before the season Jay told him Jay liked him because he's (Horacio) is respectful. The veterans aren't respectful. 🙄 I guess respectful to Jay means kowtowing. 2. He mentions visiting Olivia after Ride or Dies but before this season and makes sure to mention that when he stays at her house he slept on the couch. It was a natural part of the sentence, not like he was trying to cover tracks or anything. I appreciated he thought to make their relationship clear and not fuel speculation about something that wasn't there. 3. He talked about how he was slow with his relationship with Nurys and didn't show a lot on air because he didn't want it to be a 'showmance.' 4. He called Olivia after the season to check up on her. He doesn't think they'll be friends again in the same way, but he recognized that she was taking a beating and wanted to show his support. 5. He also said she didn't apologize which in the podcast episode related to episode 17 she claims she did. But she also says "I'm sorry you felt like..." which to me, and a lot of other people, is not necessarily an apology. She cut off and didn't finish the sentence so it is possible she completed it with something like "I'm sorry you felt like I didn't have your back" or something but it is still a non-apology because it is putting the misunderstanding on him.
  22. #TeamNurys How does Jay think he has had Nurys's back? He's literally the reason she went into the elimination last week. That whole thing was his plan. He's exhausting. I'd be fine if he never returns.
  23. Jay still insisting that Nurys was at fault for his ALMOST having to go down to the sand was ridiculous. As was his whole I protected her when she didn't protect me. Near as I can tell he hasn't protected her. The daily was kind of meh and definitely Jay's to lose. MAYBE I can root for Nurys, but she's it. Everyone else can go pound sand.
  24. Well that sucked and made me not want to watch the rest of the season.
  25. That's why this is the true measure of his character. He was the underdog. He was called down time and time again by the big boys. Now that he's somehow* the big boy he's doing exactly what they did to him to Horacio and Kyland. I suspect, but could be wrong, that if Horacio was ever top dog in a season he wouldn't be that guy. *I say somehow because I'm honestly still not sure how he got to be the big boy this season. I suppose that is his actual skill, master manipulator, because I don't think he's as physically capable as some of the others. Ed's alliance with Jay and his following their plan to force Ravyn's hand has made Ed go down in my esteem a little. He's better than Jay. Why is he playing Jay's game? (Especially since Jay doesn't have Ed as his "number 1")
