That's 100% why I had to listen to it 3 times. I thought he said Twins and Beary the first several times too but Honeybee's response didn't make sense.
-
I had to rewind it three times to catch what the Log Museum curator said to the Tobin children. He called them Twigs and Beary. 🤣

With so much focus on Angeria and her friendship with Willow I had to come and be spoiled to be sure she wasn't going home. ☺️

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion
joanne3482 replied to Aethera's topic in Spring Baking Championship
I thought the sprinkles were an interesting twist. I had no idea how they were made and I loved that Jaleesa actually made sprinkles as opposed to colorful desiccated coconut. Compared to so many twists they've had in the past, this one was fairly innocuous. (Coffee and apple, anyone? That one may have been a different version of this show) Once I googled cookie salad I immediately texted my friend who lives (and grew up) in North Dakota. She knew about it and laughed and then mentioned a similar abomination called an apple, snickers salad. -
I was going to say maybe Columbus isn't super ethnically diverse, except according to Google, they take a lot of Afghan refugees and presently 9% of their population is Afghani. So that blew my theory on that out of the water. (They're in Columbus OH, right?) Since they've done such a careful job with Al and his views and assimilation, I believe they'll allow him to explore a more wild side without him losing everything he believed in. It would be interesting to see if he were to stay a virgin until marriage.

I lived in Alaska for 5 years and spent 4 summers working at a summer camp up there. moose can be very dangerous. I remember we'd get a mama moose in our lake and her dang baby would be in the trees and we'd be stuck in our cabin or in the craft room because you don't ever walk between the two. Also I remember someone upthread talking about the house they live in. It is very Alaskan to just keep adding on bits and pieces to an existing house.

Oh. Thanks! I did not remember that at all. That makes me both more and less peeved then. Less peeved at him, but more peeved that he was hired to be a principal of a school when he had little to no experience.
-
She originally did have the goods. But in the time since she was made principal he divorced his wife and married the deaconess thereby eliminating her blackmail material. But now that she's at the school and the school is doing well despite her, he's not going to make waves but let her hang herself at the school board meeting. It did bother me how Greg seemed to just assume he would have gotten the job otherwise. He's barely out of college and has no experience doing anything really yet. At this point in his career he would be a terrible principal.

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion

I do not believe they did this episode. And I honestly can't remember if they had one last episode. Maybe that's one benefit of Molly and/or the new production team, no twists. -
She was at the little table and said, 'Did you know I had another mommy before this mommy?' I honestly thought at first that Melinda was her stepmother.
-
Thank you! I came looking for a topic on Friday night after I watched it and thought what the hell did I just watch. The kid was creepy and weird. She asked her dad about how he murdered those men? She said that she had another mommy before this one? I kind of thought she was responsible for the deaths of the lovers. That would have been an interesting twist at least. As it was you 100% knew from the outset that he was a serial killer. And I agree, I couldn't understand why on earth they stayed married. She definitely doesn't love him. He doesn't really seem to love her. I think the snails thing was supposed to be an analogy about how far they'll go for their spouses but it also would have been more interesting if they were poisonous or something. Also he had a bunch of the shells in the car with lover #3. Did he kill them out of spite? Do snails shed their shells the way other bugs do? Did he kill blonde lover he ordered the uber for? If not, why did he get away? I also kind of thought she murdered the daughter after she saw the daughter attempting to throw the suitcase in the pool. I figured it would end with her dead in the bottom since it seemed like the kid was all he cared about. He killed everything she "loved" so she did the same kind of thing. And she clearly didn't love/want the daughter. And the daughter knew it and tormented her. Seriously, how did she not at least suspect something was up when her lovers kept disappearing?

S19.E03: Noodles and Rice and Everything Nice

Why are grilled potatoes the devil? I slice them thinly and grill them after coating with a little bit of olive oil. Was it just because they weren't done enough? Because the way he was acting it was like it was something he'd never seen before in his entire life. -

I came specifically to spoil myself because Sam is one of my favorites. Now I'm bummed. Monique looks completely different hair up vs hair down. During her hair down talking head I had no idea who she was. This Asian night market sounded so delicious. -
S03.E15: Compress to Impress
joanne3482 replied to jewel21's topic in Bob ❤️ Abishola (Bob Hearts Abishola)
I don't necessarily think Christina's new company and MaxDot are competitors. MaxDot is in the niche market of compression socks only it seems. I thought Christina's new company was targeted towards fun and silly socks that people wear anytime. They may carry compression socks, but that's not their core business model. -
For the bathroom thing, I just assumed it was a hot water issue, not an enough bathrooms issue. I still have a water heater with a tank. There's not really enough hot water for two of us to take a shower at the same time, even though I have two bathrooms. I remember growing up it was the same way. In the morning if one of us showered, the next person had a hot shower for a little while before getting cold.

I spent the whole episode thinking about how Max should have had a very difficult time finding a new place to live with an eviction on his record. It would have made more sense to me if Randi had found the 2 bedroom perfect but needed a roommate for the finances. Or that Max found it but needed a roommate to sign the lease because of his eviction. (Which I know is a weird thing to focus on. 🤣)

Oddly I had always assumed he died in undies. I didn't realize his bottom half was fully naked.

Aww, Charlie's face when he found out he wasn't Dre's best friend was so sad. But I did love the Beat It dance. I thought that was fun.

S01.E07: Chapter Seven - In the Name of Honor

That would be awesome! I was so worried he would die and glad he didn't. -
I feel like Janine's clothes are a little bit "favorite teacher" and a little bit "this is what I can afford." As a new teacher, just starting out, she's buying supplies to supplement her classroom and teaching aids for her lessons. This probably doesn't leave a lot of money left so I'm assuming she's getting what she gets from the thrift stores which may not give her a lot of options size wise. I'm going with Sahar did do all the things to be a volunteer, but Ava just didn't pay attention. There's probably a memo sitting on her desk about it that she's never read. As for Janine and Sahar, I kind of get it. For some people, it's hard to make friends and you find yourself holding onto a friendship longer than you should because it's better to have one not great friend than have no friends at all. While Janine is a lovely person, she severely lacks self confidence and that's what enables a person to make friends more easily. She definitely has a doubt about what she brings to the table in terms of friendship so she clings to the few friends she has because she doesn't feel like she deserves better friends or feels like this is the best she can do.

They were in a parking lot. Do police have jurisdiction in parking lots? I can see if someone called them due to trespassing, but I don't know that works. It was confusing to me too. I just looked at the Wikipedia entry for the show and it has show summaries. In episode 2, we learn that Riley cheated on Vanessa while he was deployed and he suspected she had cheated on him with her friend Freddy. So it seems they were good friends before they started dating.

This episode was so bad. I once called my kid at work because I didn't realize she was at work. When she told me that's where she was, I was mortified that I disturbed her at work. They should be glad Jack was willing to work late for a job he clearly loves. There are perks, yes, but any job has perks. I did wonder if there was going to be a subplot of the basketball players assuming Jack was somehow a poor kid and that "The Oaks" would refer to Oakland, not Sherman Oaks (which I know is not anywhere near LA but maybe he had moved from Oakland). I'm glad/surprised the show didn't go there.

It was designed for use in the prison systems, and so she pulled it because they were using the data on the students to plan for prisons, or something along those lines. It was definitely something about how the data pulled on the students was going to the prison system, which is why it was pulled.

I really like Maddy. I think she's a nice person who is totally earnest. I think she'll last a lot longer than she should.

THAT's who he is! He was familiar but I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I do like him here. I'd be fine with it being a long term thing because I don't want her and Al to get together. I like that they seem more like siblings than romantically inclined. Plus he seems to understand her, which is important.
