  1. I had assumed they just opted to stay because they were having so much fun. It wasn't as though Kemi and the other friend had been planning to go to the jazz club that night and he hijacked existing plans. Abishola said she wanted to go that night. I feel like she just really doesn't want to live in that big old house alone anymore. It makes sense. The kids apparently never visit (which, to be fair if they see her all day at work, why would they want to spend every evening hanging out there too?). It is probably a big house with at least 4 bedrooms on multiple floors. She could probably downsize and be more comfortable and maybe live in a place with other people her own age where she could have friends, like a retirement community. At least I hope that's the plan. I hope it isn't her plan to just live with Bob until she dies. (Although that's probably the plan) My only hope on the Abishola/Dele/Nigeria story is that it doesn't cause Abishola to blame herself for her one night of fun. It probably will and she'll go back to never doing unnecessary things, but I would prefer her to recognize she's allowed to have fun and that doesn't make her a bad mother. Given Dele's excitement about teaching her to dance, it may actually make her a better one.
  2. I definitely agree, no babies. That will not be fun. It does make sense they're thinking it, though. I suppose they're at the right age, roughly, for a last ditch baby. If they feel like they need a baby or another storyline like that, let's have Marty or Malcolm get married off. They're also the right age to start having a family, but aren't central characters so it won't be constantly the invisible baby syndrome.
  3. This episode bugged me because where were these kids' parents?! Honestly. I get the parents were working, but if you can't tear yourself away for a minute to control your kid who has gone completely out of control, I judge your ability to do the job too. This includes Kenan, whose kids were also running wild. I get it was exciting and a different environment but that was madness and those parents should have stopped it.
  4. They have not yet. I thought the same thing on both points! I'm also glad they didn't go down the road of Eli blaming Gina for encouraging him to be himself. I like that actress who played the love interest. I hope she sticks around. I also hope she doesn't die if she doesn't stick around.
  5. 1. Somehow I didn't realize there was a Gabe and a Gabriel. 2. At the top of the episode I thought Gabe was going home since he was on a phone call with his family. That's usually the kiss of death in reality shows.
  6. I filed my taxes from 1992 on, so I can say, they were not. And to my recollection scanners weren't common either. Now he could be referring to the calculations he made, but we didn't file taxes electronically until the late 90s early 00s.
  7. I've never done a 2 person kayak, but I've canoed. I'm not sure if it is exactly the same, but in a canoe, the person in the back steers. They control the direction the canoe goes. When they want to go straight, they should be paddling opposite so CT calling to Amber left, right was correct. If they want to turn, they paddle the same side (opposite the direction they want to go, so a person wanting to turn left paddles on the right). The back person can use their paddle as a rudder to make the turn sharper as well. I think part of CT & Amber's problem was that Amber was stronger with one side than the other so she wasn't paddling consistently. That's what CT was trying to tell her, she dipped more on one than the other side which will make the boat veer to one side. Since I thought they were much closer than they actually were, it totally made me nervous too!
  8. AND Production gave him the punchline by putting the recording over his hand. I loved that bit! He's usually enough to get through eliminations so what they'd really have to do is not let him win a daily challenge AND ice him out of getting his skull (if they are going to keep that premise up). Based on the Challenge Wiki, it seems CT has been sent to whatever elimination game they are playing 13 times. He won 7 times and was DQd 1 time for unhooking a carabiner and lost outright 5 times.
  9. I watched the two most recent episodes back to back and her apartment was definitely not that sketchy and I could have sworn it was bigger than a studio. I know he mentioned the NEW apartment building management, but it shouldn't have fallen to shit-hole status that quickly.
  10. They projected Teck going home way too much. All of Ruthie's commentary on how Teck was important to her made it very clear who was going home. I was still really unhappy about it. Him, Yes and well, just him and Yes are my favorite guys. Ruthie is still one of my favorite girls. I don't know why. She just always has been. This is such a fun season. I wasn't sure about subscribing to Paramount + but now I'm glad I did.
  11. OH MY DOG. A trivia challenge and a reference to the CT/Johnny Bananas backpack?! I was in heaven this episode. One of my favorite things is how gleeful TJ is about the trivia challenges. I may have to watch it again because that was so awesome.
  12. If those are both too hard, how about the spinning cups ride or the log ride. That's what I was thinking. You've got buildings and a jumbotron cookie, some asphalt and sidewalks. Done. I was curious about the hamburgers since they had 3 layers of fondant in them too for the cheese, lettuce and tomato. I don't think I've ever eaten fondant in my life. What would that have been like?
  13. I was kind of thinking second wife based on the interview process. I'm not even positive Chukwuemeka wants kids. I don't know that they've ever talked about it and he seemed stunned with the whole kids thing. Perhaps there's a dearth of Nigerian women where they are, but he's dated 2 women both who already had families and were unlikely to want more kids. On the whole, without his mother, he seems like he could be a catch - good job, handsome, nice man, so if he's dating women who are unlikely to bear children, there's probably a reason. I did love Abishola going up against his mother after the Bible study in support of Kemi. That was a thing of beauty.
  14. And enough with the ridiculous nicknames! No Dancing Spice Queen, Warrior Princess, Great Hamboni! They're too much and seriously almost enough to make me drop the show.
  15. And for this show, a blind judging wouldn't be difficult to pull off. The judges don't seem to be in the room when the desserts are being made. The host could introduce each dessert and let them go from there.
  16. I agree. And I didn't like how there seemed to be only two options - her stay at home or her go back "to the firm." Like there are no other law firms or other ways to practice law in San Francisco? But I do really like the concept and hope it does well.
  17. I got the impression she has the ability to be successful, just not in the strict financial sense. In the pilot she was laid off because her program funding got cut. She did something with inner city kids that involved counseling I think or tutoring... something super meaningful but not super profitable. (Wikipedia says child therapist while the wife is a teacher, so both jobs not super profitable although in a normal place (not San Francisco area) may or may not have them be "poor." - I have a friend who is a teacher in Berkeley. Her salary pays rent on a house she rents from a cousin for herself and her 3 kids. It has 2 bedrooms. Her salary ONLY covers the rent and utilities.)
  18. Having never watched Dynasty, I had no idea that Dynasty was supposed to be in Denver. I loved Alanis's song at the end and how they figured Dan was probably dead. Thank you! I knew the voice but could not figure it out. I like the message this show provides. It doesn't feel, to me, too preachy but they're fairly supportive of being good to the environment and following the rules. I like that. And I still love Honey Bee.
  19. I think this older, calmer CT would be less of an ass than he has in the past. I hated him in his first seasons on The Challenge. His relationship with Diem really softened me towards him. (Of course I say that then think about his overreaction to getting Kam and dropping Big T who is lovely)
  20. I totally agree with this. That fairy house was amazing and I think it should have won. I can't remember who won the animal water feature episode, but I also agree his octopus was the best. Whoa. Now I'm confused. I think I dozed off because I didn't realize Sal and Alon went home the same episode as the Acoma pots. Now I have to go re-watch that episode because I'm on the sink episode now and I have no recollection of what happened with the Acoma pottery. I really liked the naked raku challenge, but I thought too many of them went for hair. There are plenty of other combustibles they could have used and I can't imagine how stinky the air was with all that burning hair/fur. I've noticed that this season and last season they are doing a lot more sculpted pieces than in the first two seasons. But it is either the current round of potters aren't that familiar with sculpted pieces or something because that bust episode was basically a disaster and I think they ended up giving it to the least worst. I do like Rich as a judge and you're right, @Marianna, he's doing a much better job than Keith. He really knows the technical side and can comment on it. i noticed that on the seasons when he was the kiln guy, they'd have him comment on the pieces as they went in as well.
  21. I want CT and Amber to win as a big F You to Fessy. He claimed he could beat CT. He was not beating CT. He claimed Kaycee was the best. Amber beat Kaycee to the checkpoint and at the checkpoint challenge. The big guys always think their brute strength will get them through a challenge. But they're always all about endurance not beef. I would like to see someone like Jay in a final. I bet he could win against Fessy. I am sad to see Kaycee hurt, only because that's now their excuse for not winning. But if Fessy is so damn strong and could beat everyone in a final, why doesn't he carry her? Give her a little piggy back ride across the terrain he loves so much. I hate food challenges. I hate watching people throw up. It's the worst to me. Although it does make me wonder if they get to eat/drink during these challenges. Usually they go on for over 24 hours. They have to eat sometime in there.
  22. I had the same thought but then he beat Dave in chess and so I wondered if Malcolm isn't secretly smart but super content with himself and not as driven as Martin.
  23. One thing I really loved is that you kind of think the rich brother is going to be a meathead. He doesn't necessarily come across as super smart (like when he corrected less to fewer, but was incorrect then), but then they pepper in his financial genius and you can see why he is so dang rich and it isn't for something like being an actor. His take on Monopoly (and then there was another financial thing) makes him completely believable as a financial whiz. I liked that because they also could have just made him an actor and that's why he has so much money.
  24. Beef had this hysterical line when Judy asked him about having "the talk" with Moon. I can't remember the exact words but it was along the lines of Beef leaving a carefully worded pamphlet on his nightstand when he was 8, just like he did with all the kids.
  25. But it isn't fair to her that he always defers and it seems like she's not even aware of the level of his deference, like the spaghetti. I didn't even understand WHY he ordered spaghetti every time even though that wasn't his favorite. I didn't get the impression that she asked him to get spaghetti so they could split or share. She's not wrong that he could end up resenting her, and he kind of did on the camping trip. She may have bulldozed him into going, but he is also a grown ass adult who was not kidnapped so he could have said no, I have this thing and I'm not going. It was ultimately his choice to give in and appease her. We know that Jeff doesn't necessarily think he is worthy of Erica. She was always Barry's hot older (?) sister who he had a crush on. To me, his behavior, his deference is about him not seeing her as an equal but seeing her as a trophy to hold on to. To me, this is typical "nice guy" behavior who paints the girl as the crazy bitch ex while he was the nice one always giving in to her increasing demands. Yes, she obviously should have thought about his feelings, but if she wasn't always aware of his feelings (again the spaghetti and I kind of feel like the cello bit), how can she be responsible for his behavior? Erica has always been exactly who she is to him, the good/bad/ugly she's never painted herself as something other than she is (to my recollection). It's him who has presented an image of who he is not to her.
