Oh God, I think I'll have to watch it now. And I'm oretty sure I didn't even manage to get through the pilot.

3 years later would be clearer to me as a reader.

I think some of their reactions are over the top, but they were so cute in the clips. Especially young Isaac and Maisie.
-
With his backstory I imagine if show Oliver was cracking up at awkward occasions, people would think he'd lost it.

On the other side of that coin, "What the fuck's a Lommy?" is likely my top darkly hilarious moment in the show.

I have to admit, I've come to terms with this particular thread. I hate that there was no complexity to Jaime's decision and Cersei simpering like she was Sansa in season 1 or something (not a dig against Sansa, she was an innocent kid then and Cersei was most definitely not that, that's what causes a disconnect), but Brienne finishing Jaime's page came off to me as her accepting the fact that he was a part of her life for a while and not being weighed down by resentment and rancor. She honored him and can now move forward with her life without being held back by this experience.

The version I read was push up bra. 😄

This is going off only on Asoiaf, but I really don't believe he has the organisational skills needed to pull that off.

You’re not the only one. I kept thinking is she Trixie’s, is she Al’s, is she Al and Trixie’s daughter, what?

Odder still that he latched onto Jon. Varys decided that Dany was going nuts because of her Targaryen blood even though he had been her supporter for a while by then. So even if you argue she did go nuts because that’s the Targaryen way, why not suspect Jon of turning that way in the future? It’s frustratingly short sighted even if one buys into the madness spin. Both Gendry and Ramsey were legitimised by decress of the rulers. Since there wasn’t a king or queen after Dany’s death, I imagine all it would have taken was enough of big houses concluding that it would be beneficial to them and supporting him.

I ran across the battle at the Tower of Joy on TV the other night and after appreciating how big of a BAMF Arthur Dayne was, something left me uneasy. Howland Reed saves Ned by stabbing Dayne in the back. Which makes sense because they stood no chance otherwise. What caused unease is that Ned witnessed his friend stabbing a dude in the back and didn't seem to hold that against him, yet never once did he pause to think, hey, maybe Jaime didn't just stab Aerys for shits and giggles. Come on, Ned.

There's one thing I'm unclear on. Relatively speaking, the new whore got a lot of attention, so what was her purpose? We got to see hew arrival, meeting Sofia, talking with Al and Johnny, being given baby Joshua to hold... Maybe there was more. But in comparison, Joanie only got to interact with Jane. So, was the new girl just a reminder of Jen? I didn't see it, really, and kept waiting for something more.

That was so beautiful, I forgot just how impressive the show’s look was. Neither was I, Alma was always the least interesting to me when she was out if breath being around Bullock, so when the staring started, I just thought, not this again. And I always felt that he and Martha were way hotter maybe because they weren’t meant to be as hot as him and Alma. The kiss at the beginning of the episode was nothing to sneeze at either. But, I will say that I really liked Bullock hugging Alma after she bested Hearst. That touched me. And it was great seeing everyone pitching in to bid against the cocksucker, even Tom piped in. It was such a great scene that I don’t even care that they didn’t think to pool resources. Emotions were running high after all. I was very sceptical when they started because I didn’t see the point of them, since the audience of this movie are the fans of the show and I feared that they would overdo them, but I’m fine with them in the end. 1889. I disagree about everyone looking the same. The passage of time could be seen best on Bullock, Sol, Charlie and Alma IMO. Jane on the other hand looked better than ever when she cleaned up.

Television Vs. Book: Why'd They Make [Spoiler] Such A [Spoiler]?
bijoux replied to yellowfred's topic in Game Of Thrones
Personally, I have no problem with there being a Night Watch even if there are no White Walkers. The Watch was founded because of them, yes, but they weren’t the reason it was still standing thousands of years since they first showed up. The only person who still believed in them at the beginning of the story in some way was Old Nan and no one was listening to her. Yet people still got sent there or went freely for reasons. I don’t see that just stopping. Plus, the Watch might have an influx of new recruits on the heels of this. One, young impressionable dudes might find it cool now. Two, some may go because they’d be counting on shelter and food, not something they necessarily have at this point in time after what had happened. -
That's a really good, mature interview and I really liked the points that he made. I assume, aside from enjoying being clean for the first time on the show in the finale, going to Spain and not needing to bother with learning any lines is a pretty sweet deal.

I never got that they were married, just in a relationship at some point in the past.

Of course she could be getting shitty scripts, I have no idea. All I’m saying is this gig has ended and providing she plans to continue working in this branch, it doesn’t seem like the wisest choice to spit on everyone else basically. The same point could have been made only spinning it positively about GoT, not negatively about everything else. I’ve always found the scripts for our show to be complex and engaging, with twists and turns that always surprise the audience but weren’t self-serving. It’s pretty much what she said, only it doesn’t cast aspersions on anyone else.
-
Maybe don’t attack others to defend the writers of your now finished show. Just an idea.

Yup. It was only yesterday that someone linked to an interview with Gwendolyne Christie in which she talks about how she got attached to Brienne and wanted best for her character. It seems perfectly reasonable to have actors and actresses speculating and wishing for certain outcomes for their characters.

That’s really condescending. I also kind of gave the Long Night director the side eye when he was directing Sophie and Maisie to act like they had a stomachache on the battlements and one of them replied with something like, Sure, like we’re dreading the Night King’s attack. -Yeah, yeah, just act like your stomach aches. Maybe he directed everyone that way, but this felt like infantilizing two grown young women, as if they couldn’t understand trepidation but needed to be directed to act as if they need to hit the john.

Got it. Although I took it as playing for the throne was done. But you could be right. It seems like a very abrupt ending though. Even if I still think they could and should have done more with what came after, I think it works better then going to black right after Dany is killed.
-
I honestly didn’t get that impression, but I do admit to watching in the middle of the night and lightly snoozing at times. Can you point me to where that was indicated?

I really enjoyed the segment with the stunt crew practicing and (over)acting. Thie acting was both horrendously bad and completely charming. Oh my God, could you imagine Arya slitting Meryn Trant's throat for nothing? Well, not nothing, he was a creepy fuck and plenty of very young girls are spared at least one of those as a result.
