  1. Let me know when Justin Hartley's spotted on set; *then* I'll get excited....
  2. She looks adorable. Can't wait to see what her dynamic will be.
  3. In such a crappy world, I cannot express how much joy this show gives me. CANNOT. EXPRESS.
  4. *NOW* I'm excited for the crossover!! I believe each actor will hit it out of the park.
  5. Well, if this is what Arrow's like when it's on, I am in for the rest of the season. I liked the whole thing. I only came in on Season 5, so to me NTA is part of the gang and I thought they used them well. I liked the philosophical differences between Rene and Dinah and it helped to give a sense of oppression to the episode. Damn, that shower scene was intense! And I winced when Diaz threw Felicity through that table. Girl took quite a punishment! And while I was glad to see her fight with everything she had, it was only too realistic that it wouldn't be enough. I'm also the only fan alive okay with William, so I am *really* super intrigued by the ending!!
  6. @Camera One, I'm really enjoying your posts on these and that you're taking the time to give your impressions. Really looking forward to your impressions of the season's latter half.
  7. https://twitter.com/BrandonJRouth/status/1051914418601254912 ETA: *sigh* The damn thing embedded at first and then suddenly disappeared. It's not a mobile tweet, as far as I can tell. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong!!
  8. If they don't have Routh and Purcell act out Ray and Mick with opposite personalities during this ep, then honestly I don't even know how to help them anymore.
  9. Count me in as liking this. I'm disappointed Veronica from The Good Place didn't stick around more. Watching them mutilate that poor doctor was hard.
  10. Okay, someone needs to sit down with the W&G producers and explain very clearly and with purpose that it is imperative Eric McCormack keep that beard. That thing could be responsible for an entire 10th of a ratings point all on its own.
  11. If you think he was funny here, you need to find yourself a little sitcom by the name of Schitt's Creek. Dan Levy (son of Eugene Levy) is a treasure.
  12. I am fully on board with Routh playing Mick for an episode. Let's get the brain switcher back, so Purcell can play Ray too.
  13. That's the case with most ship fandoms. I actually don't have anything against most ships; all just part of the story for me. It's how juvenile the fans can get that turns me off. That said, I also hate the trope that any fan of a ship that's notorious for an awful fandom must themselves be awful for shipping that couple. That's not fair either.
  14. This was the wrong set of episodes to watch while eating leftover gravy on hot turkey sandwiches. Yeah.

    S05.E01: Nora

I really loved it. Great start to the season. I'm already in love with Nora and wish she could stay forever. My dad and I are incredibly close because I'm so much like him, so all the angst JPK so beautifully portrayed really socked me in the gut. I don't blame her for idealizing her father, but I really hope part of her being here is learning more about her mother and how awesome she is, so that relationship can be healed as well.
  16. Very interesting to watch the scene with Anne and Diana trying to get Mrs. Barry to listen to them and her refusing, in light of recent politics. A lot in there to unpack about women's voices. Happy to see Josephine again. I loved how Matthrew treated poor Jerry Buote. I'm really pleased the show decided to flesh out that character. I hope this means that Gilbert will be coming back soon, even though there won't be any gold. Maybe Bash will come with him?
  17. I'm gonna repeat what I said on Reddit: if we don't get to see animal-loving Mick pick up a stray kitty and get all gooshy over it, and if we don't get to see his reaction once he discovers that cute l'il kitty he gooshed over was actually Ray...then honestly, what is the point of even writing this episode??
  18. My two cents: I liked Anu quite a bit. Her willingness to bend her no-nonsense position and propose to the guy who was longing for romance was the clincher for me. Raj is a straight guy whose personality hits a lot of stereotypical "feminine" traits. It makes sense that a compatible woman for him would hit a lot of "masculine" traits in contrast, and that might be precisely what he needs. Aside from his money mismanagement - and obviously she'd be a great help there if he's willing to be guided by her in that - most of Raj being an asshole is when he tries to be a typical "guy" in relationships, because that's not natural to him. Admitting that he rather likes being "feminine" and owning it in his love life might be the growth catalyst he needs, and Anu could be the reason that happens. I'm also excited at the prospect of an arranged marriage being portrayed in a positive light. I think it's just as successful a method of finding a life partner as any other, *if* 1) the parents truly see and know and love their children as they are (not as they'd like them to be), and 2) the parents' first and greatest factor in picking a suitable marriage is compatability with their child/ensuring there are no red flags. I started dating my now-husband after five years of friendship (he was with someone else at the time), and after we got married my dad told me that, upon meeting him for the first time for about an hour early into our friendship (he was with his then-fiancee), he looked at my mother once we were all out of earshot and said, "I have no idea how or even if it's going to happen...but I'm telling you, that was Miss Dee's husband who just sat on our couch." So all things being equal, apparently I can trust my dad to pick out suitable mates for me.
  19. I liked that Matthew and Marilla are sceptical about taking such a risk, despite actually living with the grifters. If this show goes incredibly dark with Nate's bludgeoned body found in the lonely woods someday... I'll live with it. God, but it was satisfying to see Minnie May kick him in the shins. What an asshole.
  20. Aw, I'm the only one loving Amybeth McNulty. This is exactly the Anne I pictured in my head when I read the books. As a child she *is* off-putting to most small-town adults; only Mrs. Allan and Miss Stacey (the two more intellectual women) she met were really kindred to her. Mrs. Lynde and Marilla loved her, but they didn't understand her at all. I don't mind the extraneous material, as depicting Anne's childhood for whole seasons would be impossible based on the book alone. The grifters are not terribly adroit, but then, this is not a sophisticated town. I can buy that most people are at least thinking about it at this stage. I don't see Marilla as hot to trot at all. To me she's a lonely, repressed woman who is finding herself responding to this guy's subtle manipulations to make her off balance and less inclined to sniff out his real intentions. He's obviously arranging all these "accidental" sightings. That's what cons do - read your weaknesses at a glance and use them against you. While I like Gilbert's storyline, I hope he goes back to Avonlea soon.
