  1. AIRWOLF!!!! Oh man, that takes me back! I loved that friggin' theme song! I wonder what the episodes would be like to watch now. I remember them being the height of excitement, but looking at this clip it strikes me just how fast action scenes have gotten.
  2. @Shakma, I really like Anne with an E too - and I'm someone who's read the series often enough to quote passages from memory. Interestingly, it was The Lego Movie that really got me thinking about my reactions to those who take material and adapt them to new mediums, audiences, eras, etc. I decided I didn't want to be a Lord Business who insists on all adaptations of a work to follow the exact same canonical beats every time; I want every adaptation to use the pieces of the work to create their own vision. So I'm trying to judge AWaE on its own merits without constantly comparing them to the books. it helps that for me, Anne is like she stepped directly out of the books even though she may be in new stories. In fact - and here comes a *really* unpopular opinion - as far as verisimilitude is concerned, she blows Megan Follow's rendition out of the water for me.
  3. It's okay, @Hooper. This is one of the good places (usually).
  4. Oh Lord. Someone's getting chained to a demon or selling their soul.
  5. I'll be honest: while 95% of me assumes this is fake, 5% of me kinda hopes it's not, just so I can snack while watching the ensuing meltdown. That said: while I can see GRRM ending his series that way after the show has a more conventional ending, I cannot in any way shape or form see him agreeing to end the show like that ahead of his books. It would kill any future sales for not only SoIaF but also all the prequels and offshoots he's creating.
  6. I hope LG gets more comics work. He's obviously a big fan and I'd love for him to be sought out for cons instead of paying to go! And I was absolutely going back and forth on whether his character was good or bad, so good job to him. I enjoyed him on Designated Survivor too.
  7. *That's* more like it! Please stick around, old-style MM!
  8. Well, if people acted reasonable 100% of the time, we wouldn't have sitcom plots. I just took it that Johnny felt like he was the only one that needed that family togetherness - the others seemed fine going their separate ways - and he didn't want the others to literally throw him a pity party and just show up because he begged; he wanted them to want family togetherness on their own. And it frustrated him that they didn't seem to want that at all even after the events and lessons of the last few years.
  9. My favourite part of Rainbow Valley was John Meredith and Rosemary West.
  10. My husband takes (mild) umbrage with your Sgt. Rock comment; those were the only comics that ever interested him. :)
  11. LOL So fitting. I think that's why Legends works like it does, though. You need to plan things out, but you also need to recognize when serendipity gives you a different opportunity and have the courage and foresight to seize the moment. It sounds as though the writers' room can do that. And honestly, after James Taylor I too was wishing Hank could stick around as a Legend rather than the Big Bad, so I'm thrilled to know the writers feel similarly. We need another elder statesman on the ship anyway; Mick's a little too young for that role just yet.
  12. The popular theory on Reddit is Gideon is cooking the books and squirrelling away money to get herself an android body.
  13. Wait, is this a reference to Astra? I don't know a whole lot about it, but every time I've heard it talked about or hinted at in show it's with the context that John had no idea that would be the consequence and it's been torturing him ever since. Am I wrong in that assumption?
  14. Yes, but will any real-world author be able to live up to the levels of shallowness and libidiousness required??
  15. Mo Ryan has put it in her list of Top 40 shows as well.
  16. Holy moly, she had all that done to her because of a *picture*?! Lecture me all you want about taking threats seriously, you know damn well that was not a proportional response. America is closer to a fascist dictatorship than I thought....
  17. This thread is starting to remind me of "Mind Your Surroundings" before its gates shut for good. In a desperate attempt to change the subject: Gary is the Legends crossover? And I was hoping for multiple-Earth Supermen including Brandon Routh. Although if it's literally Gary Time-Couriering into a big old mess, surveying the chaos and going "Nope, saw nothing" and leaving again, I'll laugh my ass off.
  18. I sob like a mofo whenever I get to that part. I've wanted them to make a RoI movie solely for that part.
  19. @Cherry Cola, I thought the same thing about Gil/Teddy and Jerry/Perry. You could kind of see Diana as Emily (in looks, not personality) and definitely Anne as Ilse.
  20. You remember when CSI:Vegas and 2.5 Men switched writers for an episode? I'd love it if Riverdale and Legends of Tomorrow could do that.
  21. Put me in with the crowd who hated it. A typical Murdoch episode that made homage to IotBS within the usual continuity? OK. But this wasn't what I tune into MM for.
  22. The cast must have had a blast with this one. If it's all like this I've no idea how I'm gonna get through it without peeing my pants or getting a severe stomachache.
  23. So I'm the only one loving this inventive way of involving Trevor in the show? I think it's a beautiful way of making lemonade from lemons, and I love how we're seeing more of the correspondents without losing Trevor's adorable expressions.
  24. I LOVED the episode where the guests interviewed Stephen for a change! What an intelligent, deep, geeky, thoughtful, amazing person he is. I hope they do this at least every year around American Thanksgiving - this Canadian would be suitably grateful!
