  1. Reviews are starting to trickle in. Some of them aren't terribly positive. I think this was the best one I saw. https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-conners-is-almost-sweet-enough-to-make-up-for-the-roseanne-fiasco The reviewer liked Darlene and Becky's rapport, which is great because this is one of the things I liked most about the revival.
  2. Original Air Date: October 16, 2018
  3. We just started a rewatch and are almost to the end of S1. Tomorrow night is the The First David Job. I think of the first season my favorite is The Juror #6 Job.
  4. I'm hoping they do an episode a week, mainly because it's easier to keep up that way. I never have enough time to binge a whole season but I can squeeze an hour show in here and there.
  5. I really liked One Hour. As for repeat guests, my second favorite (after LDP/Ian) was probably Henry Winkler as Roger Bloom.
  6. The lava lamp thing made me smile. I do like it when writers get the tech stuff kind of right. (Allowing for dramatic license and all...) https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/encryption-lava-lamps
  7. I wouldn't call TK one note exactly, though he does tend to easily dominate a scene. He was charming as well as overbearing as Dr. Ian Thornhart on Port Charles and he got to play the romantic poet as Patrick Thornhart on OLTL. I always assumed Patrick was closest to his real self because of the poetry. Agreed that it helps a lot when he is clean shaven and his hair is short though a lot of fans loved Patrick's long hair. (Not me.) My main fear about the upcoming musical partners is Quinn. While I wouldn't mind if she regained a little of her edge, I like who she is with Eric and don't want to watch her cheat on him, or have Eric paranoid that Q/R are a thing. Of course, if Eric and Donna cheat first, I'll bring the popcorn for Quinn's hell hath no fury.
  8. Brain tumors are great for wiping the slate clean from whatever bizarre corner writers get themselves into.
  9. I don't really keep up with interviews and such, so I'm glad they like each other off-screen anyway. It would make Bridge a lot easier to watch if some of that made it to my television once in a while.
  10. Another strike against TK is his lack of chemistry with KKL. I don't have a long enough history with the show to have strong feelings for or against Brooke but as one of the shows leading ladies since Day 1, she should have had a Ridge recast she could sizzle with, since it's one of the core themes of the show. That is probably the worst aspect of TK as Ridge. I don't buy that he even likes Brooke most of the time.
  11. I think most of the irritation towards TK is that he was too different from original Ridge. If he had been a new character it would have been better. Also it's hard to forget his really questionable grooming choices over the last few years. I loved TK on AMC/PC but B&B hasn't been his best work.
  12. Blackberry no longer manufactures hardware but they do still produce phones. They're expensive and ugly, so mostly used by executives that still prefer their secure Hub. I can't imagine anyone in fashion using one either, unless they were accountants or something. I've mainly seen Donna in drive-bys (except for arguing with Pam about some kind of receptionist thing when I first started watching), so I'll admit to being a little curious where that goes. I'm not looking forward to revisiting Quidge though.
  13. I'm not sure from the last episode why this reality is the way it is. I'm leaning towards the theory that it's just to keep Johnny happy and away from "saving them all" from The Lady. I don't think Dutch or D'avin's happiness figures into it, if Dutch is unwittingly with John and D'av is searching for his son via a RAC warrant. But just to be clear, when I say the final scene was a gift to the shippers, I mean the writers obviously are aware that D/J have a real fanbase. That way the scene is multi-purpose, fan service (even if they aren't changing the direction of the show to pander to it, a la the CW) and plot service to launch the last season. If TAF retains memories of this AU, then yes, it will raise a ton of issues for the characters to work through. I guess we'll see.
  14. I never shipped Dutch with anyone in the first 3 seasons and other than some quasi-shippy D/J scenes here and there, never thought the show was heading for them or for her and D'av. Honestly, I don't see any romantic chemistry with D/D. Nothing OTP level, anyway and I always thought Dutch deserved an epic romance if they were going to do one. But that's just me. YMMV.
  15. The Lady may know how to tempt people, making a reality from the feelings and memories she sees in their minds but she hasn't really reckoned with Johnny. When he was Hullen he still retained pieces of his humanity, in this episode he walked away from the Pawter illusion and I have no doubt that when he has to make a choice between his fantasy with Dutch and what is real and true, he's going to do the right thing. That may be just enough of an edge for the thief to save them all.
  16. I don't mind the green filter because we desperately need some visual clues as to where we are at any given moment but The Lady doesn't feel real to me without a face and the body switching is just confusing and starting to feel tedious. I'm reduced to mentally superimposing Diana Rigg on the characters when they are channeling her. (Old, imperious, evil - any better actor suggestions for who could play her?) I need to watch the episode again, to sort out the various storylines but the memory loss was an interesting twist. It made me think that whoever wrote it has experience with dementia, because there is real horror in the knowledge that science can cure the physical body but can do nothing to stop the loss of memories.
  17. I stayed up late last night to watch the finale and thought about my earlier comment as that played out. It's obviously really complicated in some ways, as @sjohnson alludes to above (I'm still processing that aspect) but the interesting thing is that for a nano second, Dutch is happy. So maybe I'm going to get my Casablanca ending, because D/J will always have this moment, even if they don't end up together. If it weren't so problematic, I'd wonder if they were trying to give the D/J shippers a small gift. (Before taking the story in a different direction and crushing them entirely.)
  18. She is adorable, that's for sure. and https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2018/09/20/breaking-news-say-hello-to-stargirl
  19. I believe you can separate the art from the artist, mostly but it takes time - sometimes a lifetime. There is plenty of art that was created by horrible people but outlives its creators and eventually stands on its own merits.. And film/tv is a collaborative art. Roseanne Barr didn't create Roseanne Conner all by herself. Writers, directors, other actors all influenced the show. She ruined it all on her own though. It remains to be seen how the writers handle things. We'll find out in a month.
  20. I didn't exactly say he was out of line. Just that the way he left, leaving the impression she was a bad influence on Jac. A few other things that I'd need to rewatch to specify. Maybe it's idea of a kinder, gentler Dutch. Ah well, next time I see something specific, I'll make a note of it.
  21. I saw it the way you do until the last couple of episodes. I put most of it down to sudden fatherhood but it still grated.
  22. My husband was watching this morning when I walked in the room and asked if it was Prom Week or something. I didn't know about the Emmy until then. Well deserved. And someone won Pay the Rent, too. :-)
  23. Well, it could be done but there's no indication that the show will ever go there. One thing about that was unique about John Crichton and Aeryn Sun is that I never felt like he tried to change who she was at her core (except for the trusting/loving him thing) so it made the romance much more palatable. D'av isn't shy about trying to change Dutch, for her own good of course. There's something about it that annoys me.
  24. I have a lot of sympathy for the J/D shippers, because HJK and AA do have something that sparkles on my television screen. But I don't really think either brother has sexual chemistry with Dutch, if that makes sense. D'avin is more her equal when it comes to fighting and overall on paper but I don't find them compelling as a couple. Obviously mileage varies considerably but D'av kind of makes Dutch boring. But then I'm not usually a fan of romance in my space opera. It's hard to do well.
  25. Yep. The first one is one of the few females Johnny has met in ages, not really a possibility. The other 2 names - that was just me answering the question of who Alice and the ex-scarback were. Though I believe John did like "Alice" a lot. And her owner, of course. :-) -- I hate to say it but I could see Aneela being a temptation that John might not be able to resist, especially if she was intentionally channeling Dutch.
