The Clothing Thread: What The Heck Are They Wearing?
tessaray replied to Rick Kitchen's topic in Days Of Our Lives
You aren't. That's probably why they don't really bother me. It's quintessential Maggie. -
This is why I don't understand the US Chamber of Commerce/general business support for this slash and burn administration. With most government programs, that money goes straight back into the economy. The only thing I can see that they might like is a larger labor pool. But even that can't make up for what a recession (or God forbid, depression) will do to what was a decent, if flawed, economy.

Jordan is trying to get cozy with Sidwell to get information on why he's in PC. If he knew she was seeing Isaiah, that wouldn't work.
-
Yes, he gave her the flowers and she kept them. I personally would have handed them back. (Not a Brick/SAS fan.)

Wasn't there a cross-soap thing with something like heart-healthy tomato soup years ago? I have nothing against discrete product placement but the last 2 episodes were so very, very awkward. It's why I hope no one is diagnosed with kidney disease. They always screw those things up. Seriously. Though mob lackey Brick doesn't have any moral high ground here. I would say only nice things about GH for a week if they brought RJ Gannon on for a cameo.

Good Morning America - General Discussion
tessaray replied to David T. Cole's topic in Good Morning America
Yes! Thank you. I don't know much about country performers. My main goal was finding out who the girl playing the violin was but he seems like a good guy. 🙂 -
I much preferred the old days when a cast member did the PSA at the end of the episode.
-
She's a Carly-in-training. He's used it.

I'm not sure why but I like Lucas and Elizabeth being thick as thieves. It reminds me a bit of Brad and Britt (BFF). And two thumbs up for the LL2 flashbacks. I feel like they are setting up a 'Kristina tries to take out Ava' story. Kristina going to the dark side seems inevitable, since nothing else has worked for the character so as long as she misses I'm okay with it. Did anyone else get weird vibes from the Morgan/Michael photo at the end. Was that DG and would they really bring him back? (I looked away for a minute and only caught a glimpse of the picture.)

Good Morning America - General Discussion
tessaray replied to David T. Cole's topic in Good Morning America
I rarely watch GMA/GMA3 so I'm kind of clueless of where to find the answer to this question. Maybe you all can help? I turned on the TV earlier today and it was on ABC, just as GMA3 was ending and I've been searching to find out who the performers were playing them out. Did anyone watch it today? -
I missed a day or two, so I missed that bit. Honestly, it never occurred to me that maybe Nicole had a baby on her own. I assumed they got together in college or med school. But yeah, agree that if Nicole isn't Martin's biological parent, Ted very well might be.
-
I have some thoughts about Martin's possible origins** but otoh, I don’t necessarily think Nicole and Ted would have to be 60s-ish to be Martin's parents. Some women do have kids in college and/or medical school. With well-to-do parents, she could have had a nanny. That said, this is the kind of pretzel logic I expect with a long-running soap, not one a month old. ** Martin seemed very much like original Ted's son. Nicole's? 🤷♀️

OLTL Outside Llanview: The Cast In Other Roles
tessaray replied to Chairperson Meow's topic in One Life To Live
This is a feel-good story on multiple levels. EA always seemed like a nice kid in a tough business. That he grew up into a genuine good guy is a bright spot considering the sorry state of things in the rest of the news. -
With Gloria gone and Lois going home to Bensonhurst, I'm just afraid they will backburner this until May/November sweeps. Though 5 or 6 weeks of seething and stewing might be tolerable, there currently aren't many stakes for fallout story right now. (I assume they would want some but you know how that goes.)
-
I don't necessarily hate the idea but is there really a large enough audience for it?

I'm out too. The gaslighting is just too much for me. Carter is easily the worst partner ever and Brooke needs to be deprogrammed asap. But they pale next to Steffy. It was fun coming back for the Finn/Luna reveal but this show... I'm mainly mad at myself for coming back. Unless there is twist coming in the next day or so (like Carter refusing to file updated paperwork) I'm not sure what could salvage it. But at least I can reclaim my dvr space. 🙂 -
The stupidity of all things legal on this show is really ruining it for me. The sheer laziness of ignoring a 2 minute Google search - the implied condescension that none of us are smart enough to even notice burns. There's a good chance that Martin's fee hasn't even cleared the bank yet. Sonny's been in the house days, not months. Alimony is mainly monitored at the federal level by the IRS and would include garnishments and processes like that long before prosecution. Now child support in arrears might eventually lead to some sort of inter-state prosecution but the writers have never mentioned any kids for Martin. Ugh. I feel like I lose brain cells watching this show. (Note: I am not a lawyer but this was just me googling on a commercial break. I really hate them some days.) Otoh, at least BLQ was smart enough to realize her anger at Lois and Gloria made her a hypocrite for not telling Chase that Dante was the guy.

Right? That made no sense. It almost seemed petulant or jealous with Luna going on and on, calling Finn "dad" multiple times. -
This makes sense. Those of us who are older remember J. Edgar Hoover was once one of the most feared men on the planet but now he's just an old joke about cross dressing that younger audiences don't even really get.

I am reminded again today of how good (and bad) TG was for daytime. Over on DAYS, Sami and EJ's adult son is just finding out he was a child of rape. And while it's watchable by today's standards, it doesn't compare to young Lucky flaming his parents over the past. I don't think Luke's character ever really recovered. Not that it bothered Geary, from what's been said, but it always bothered me. I like my mostly redeemed characters to stay mostly redeemed. 🙂

They've (Republicans) already given away their power, haven't they?

I'm not a Schumer fan but honestly, I kinda felt sorry for him last night. He looked defeated. He had some good points about the various moves Trump/Musk could make with the government shut down. The one that resonated with me was the courts being shut down. It's been awhile since the last shutdown so I don't remember exactly how the courts were affected but we need them operating at full force. And he did point out once the government is shut down, how would it end? If Trump likes the non-essential federal employees being furloughed, what would motivate the ruling Rs to come back to the bargaining table to reopen the government? They win either way. Schumer looked as sick as I feel.

The whole mother conversation baffled me. Harmony had Holly beat in the awfulness department. (Imo, anyway, con woman rates slightly better than cult recruiter.)

I thought I must be the only one. I've spent the last couple of days wondering if it was accidental or if someone in the wardrobe department has a sense of humor. Hope's dress, otoh, someone in Wardrobe must hate her. -
He can be cute, though he can also be smug and/or spoiled. At least he doesn't sing or write songs.
