  1. Not sure why, but I always assumed that Mark died close to the time of younger Mark's birth, as David didn't really know his son and the older Mark's death was the cause of his downward spiral. (And Becky's.) It would be nice of the show to give us some more facts about it. Maybe we'll get some info with the upcoming focus on Becky.
  2. Becky was rudderless until she was approached for the surrogacy then that nascent motivation to change her life sputtered when it fell through. It wasn't until Dan vetoed her working and drinking that she's made any effort since. (That we've seen, anyway.) If someone needs external motivation and accountability to change, then a baby might well have a very positive impact on her life. (Has anyone ever read any of Gretchen Rubin's books about the 4 tendencies? I can see Becky as an Obliger.)
  3. @BeachDays Did they tell you which episode this was or when it is scheduled to air?
  4. I could accept Geena getting pregnant as unexpected and life altering (for them). Right now they are just scraping by, she obviously is invested in her military career and a baby would really upset things for them.
  5. I just Googled the success rate of the morning after pill and it says up to 89% effective if taken within 3 day, 95% if taken withing 24 hours. I guess that does leave room for Harris. Drat. https://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwtv/article/Scoop-Coming-Up-on-a-New-Episode-of-THE-CONNERS-on-ABC-Tuesday-November-20-2018-20181105
  6. Does your cable company offer access to the tv anywhere type apps? Or log-ins to network websites? Philo (the online streaming service) has The History Channel. I believe they have a one week free trial. If it isn't available on demand, you should probably be able to log in to the Discovery website. https://try.philo.com/
  7. Roseanne Barr is not on topic here. She has her own topic in the original show forum.
  8. The episode opens 3 weeks after Roseanne died, presumably of a heart attack in her sleep. They later find out she had taken an accidental overdose of pain meds.
  9. Not sure that's a discussion for this episode thread but the original 2nd episode (Separation of Church and Dan) looks to be more Geena-centric, so maybe that will tell us more. (Airs the 13th, I think.) While I wasn't crazy about Becky taking candy from a little kid, I did like Geena being mischievous by demanding her half. It's nice to see she has a good relationship with both of DJ's sisters.
  10. Claudia Black as Max and Isabel's (adopted) mother? This might have made my day. https://tvline.com/2018/10/25/roswell-new-mexico-spoilers-claudia-black-cast-the-cw-reboot/
  11. The writing for him isn't great but I do like him. The show needs some younger characters to balance out the older ones.
  12. We appreciate all your comments but since there are no transgender characters (that we know of) on The Conners, the subject is not on topic. It's time to move on. Thanks.
  13. Syndication isn't the only option for shows any more. Lots of shows get 10 - 13 episodes per season and then go to Hulu or Netflix or Amazon. Streaming has completely changed the old business model. Even syndication is different now that there are all those OTA digital sub-channels needing content. Still, the fact is that no one knows at this point what ABC, the stars and the production company are planning. We'll know eventually.
  14. The Conners doesn't have to beat NCIS to be viable. ABC is also going to look at it compared to its other shows and there it did better than anything else the network put on that night. I doubt ABC even knows for sure unless they have something in development they like better. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/conners-is-us-tv-ratings-tuesday-oct-30-2018-1156712
  15. Heh. Some may not but this one certainly remembers how intensely irritating (previously tolerable) things could be. It's weird but I actually find Corky a litle more interesting now because of the menopause storyline. I didn't care for the southern schtick in the original show.
  16. I had to Google that show. At first I wondered why I'd never heard of it but thinking about it, pretty sure I didn't get the WB back then. I did laugh at the Kornacki mention, too.
  17. I was skeptical of how things would play out filming and airing an election episode before the actual election but they did a pretty decent job. The Wolf Network stuff was actually funny.
  18. Things are getting a little off-topic, even for a Halloween episode. The clowns, mimes and other disturbing things discussion can always be taken to Small Talk.
  19. There isn't a show next week, so I hope the audience makes their way back afterwards.
  20. I didn't get a chance to watch this episode until the wee hours Sunday (or is it Monday?) and mostly people have already mentioned stuff but just wanted to comment on a couple of things. First, 13's vulnerability reminded me a lot of 9 asking Rose to come with him and 10 at the end of Runaway Bride. The Doctor gets lonely and he likes humans as traveling companions, so I was okay with it. The second thing was about the sisters comment. I haven't had a chance to rewatch it yet but I remember thinking of the Sisterhood of Karn, not sure why or if it really would even fit with her comments. Overall this one was fair. Lots of good scenes but not very well put together in spots.
  21. I wasn't crazy about Mark mentioning Darlene stealing an art book from the library. They could have added a line from her that she was still borrowing, just without the overdue fines or something. But then I really had problems with the scene in the revival where Roseanne had Mary beeping in the self-checkout while she stole bacon. (And now we'll never get a scene with Geena reaming Roseanne out over it.)
  22. Air Date: October 30, 2018 Note: Updated title of episode; evidently "Freaks and Creaks" was a working title.
