  1. Yup. Which is why it earned its spot in television history. :-)
  2. I wonder if DJ's job is like newspaper delivery, where you work for the company as an independent contractor type of thing. The company guy didn't seem upset that some unknown guy was doing the actual work, just that he hadn't been trained.
  3. The last episode of the season is titled "We Continue to Truck", which is a nice callback to the first episode. https://www.disneyabcpress.com/abc/shows/the-conners/episodes/we-continue-to-truck/ Seriously spoiler-y pictures at the link above. One thing I didn't see coming though...
  4. This episode had a few interesting moments but didn't really set well with me. Darlene was annoying and I hated that no one even took DJ into consideration. (Well, until the end.) I'm glad Geena stuck up for him though. This was the extra episode and filmed last - with the tree in the background I think they must have known it would be slotted in between somewhere. But yeah, I was confused that Becky's pregnancy wasn't mentioned. With only 11 episodes you wouldn't think continuity would be that hard.
  5. Has anyone posted about Trevor St. John's role in Roswell, New Mexico? He'll be playing Jesse Manes, Alex's father. ETA: I guess it was a couple of pages back. Consider this a reminder to set the dvr if you're so inclined. :-)
  6. C is for Chicken Coop... because Grandpa Dan is a soft touch.
  7. There really wasn't enough traffic to win a reprieve from the site admins for Roseanne being archived and converted to a topic. (We tried.) And with a few exceptions, most of the pre-revival discussion was concentrated in the all episodes topic anyway. The game topics are two of the exceptions. @Pallas and I discussed it and have decided to create new game topics in The Conners forum. Since the spin-off incorporates most of the original series, we feel like they should be equally at home there. Feel free to visit them at the links below. http://forums.previously.tv/topic/89816-the-conners-alphabet-game/ http://forums.previously.tv/topic/89815-the-conners-trivia-game/
  8. The Rules: Post the next up letter of the alphabet with a Roseanne/The Conners reference. A is for the Army, where both Geena and DJ serve(d). B is for ... See the original Roseanne game here: http://forums.previously.tv/topic/14624-roseanne-alphabet-game-that-was-my-joke-guess/
  9. The Rules: The first person will ask a trivia question related to the fictional universe of the Conners, past or present. (Note: classic Roseanne is included.) The next person answers the trivia question, and then poses a new question for the next person to answer and so on. Created as a tribute to the original Roseanne topic, now preserved here: http://forums.previously.tv/topic/68488-roseanne-trivia-game/
  10. I'm surprised at how much I like Esme now. I actually miss her when she's not on.
  11. I do think you're right that the sound is different. I'll just throw a third variable into the mix and that's the transition from analog to digital that's taken place since the original series aired. While I don't think about it too much re: tv, I hear this every day when I listen to music online. Analog is so much warmer in tone.
  12. Heh. I decided to watch based on Amy Acker. And an article somewhere that said she would make a Sarah Conner-like journey, which I've seen no evidence of, unless you count doping up a hacker addict so much his heart failed. Caitlin is no Root or Illyria.
  13. Maybe before Andy bleached his hair. Now every time Andy is on the screen I want to see him start silk screening soup cans or Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
  14. I binge-watched the series over the holiday break, so last night was my first real time episode. I didn't have any huge expectations but sheesh, that was pretty awful. Especially Jace. I hope they plan on killing him off, because after shooting John like a freaking maniac, I'll never buy any redemption story for him. I do like Lorna and Marcos though. Maybe because their ongoing relationship and baby angst seems almost upbeat compared to the grim misery of rest of the show.
  15. Does it matter which order you watch them in? Because I started with the 2 writers, since I could relate to the books, papers and electronics in the description. I thought it was kind of boring. Too much talking into the camera and not enough interaction and hands-on with MK. Also, I wanted to see what Frank actually kept of his papers (especially the Power Rangers fan fiction - hah!) and how he stored them.
  16. I happened to notice some upcoming reruns. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother commenting on them but considering the ones they picked, it looks like they might be trying to pick up some new viewers. Tue, Jan 01 - Keep on Truckin' Thu, Jan 03 - Miracles / One Flew Over the Conner's Nest
  17. Air date: January 8, 2019 Trivia from the Roseanne Wiki: Although aired as the ninth episode, it was filmed as the eleventh and final episode of the season.
  18. @Lili - the vaulted Roseanne show still has all its original threads intact. Going forward any discussion of Roseanne: TOS will be in one topic. The reason for that is the lack of traffic the old forum had. It's possible that once the memory of Roseanne's issues faded, traffic might have resumed to pre-revival levels and spared it the vault, but we'll never know for sure. Once the transition is complete and we all get settled in, it's possible that some forums that are now topics may be converted to full forums, if they are popular enough. We've been told that it will be a two way street. Forums that are popular now may someday get the vault/single topic treatment and singles may get expanded. I don't know if Roseanne will ever again be one of those but stranger things have happened. I think the 2 tiered system is kind of weird myself but there is a logic behind it on the software level. The merging discussions into one... well, it's not ideal in a lot of cases. I agree with you there but it is what it is.
  19. Welcome to "All In", the single topic. Anything related to Chris Hayes and the show itself are now all together. The basic guidelines haven't changed, even though there is no pinned post. I know there are lots of changes going on. Hang in there!
  20. Rest assured we all are having to adjust. It's going to be a trying experience until the new version of the PTV forum is up and running. Just to clarify, I don't believe any forum with thousands of posts will be deleted. If such a forum hasn't had many posts in a couple of years, then it will be archived (vaulted) and a new topic created for any posts going forward. Which makes sense, the old posts are available for new users to read and reference but any ongoing conversation will be in the new thread. If it has a lot fewer posts, then yes, they will all be merged into a topic going forward. (Some users may have already experienced this when episode threads get merged into an all episodes discussion topic due to low volume in a forum.) Some low volume forums have been deleted though, especially ones that haven't had any posts in over a year. In a month or two, a lot of the changes will make more sense with the new forum layout. I will make a pitch for the changes, though. Before the re-org started, PTV had over 2400 shows, with more requested every day. This has really strained the limits of the forum software - so some updates have to be done. But the new forum will have some nifty features that I know will be popular. And we can't get there from here, without a little pain. TL;DR - Yeah, changes suck but sometimes it's unavoidable.
  21. I thought only CBS-owned shows were on All Access? (MB is Warner Bros.) Not that I wouldn't like to see it find another home, it just doesn't seem too likely.
  22. I was thinking this was for The Fix, the new ABC show modeled after the OJ train wreck. Marcia Clark (the prosecutor) is one of the execs but I guess it's the Netflix show.
  23. Oops. I forgot that this was new this week. I really liked this episode, clunky parts and all. UO alert, but I like Diana and enjoyed her bonding with Miles. (She's way too hot for him but I still enjoyed it. Same with Julius - he's way too hot for Pat but since it's a sitcom and they obviously maxed out their budget with guests, okay...) Lawrence O'Donnell and Andrea Mitchell were fun, especially Lawrence plugging his desk charity. ($10 though, Frank?) Not complaining about the NBC folks but it did seem a little weird that there aren't any liberal-ish CBS people who could have done cameos. Or CNN, etc. If this is the end, I'm glad I got the chance to revisit these characters.
