  1. Yes, maybe watching from the beginning will help me figure out all that political conspiracy stuff with Stilson? I never did understand that part. The 4th episode was pretty entertaining too, with the WWII romance and triangle. And the last scene twist. :-) Also liked that Johnny couldn't help his own emotions getting tangled up in it.
  2. Thanks to real life, I'm only up to S01:E05 but it's kind of weird, my husband was actually watching 12 Angry Men while I was watching Unreasonable Doubt on my computer. 12 Angry Men may be better (okay - Henry Fonda, Lee J Cobb, Jack Klugman) but I've got Jim Byrnes... so I'm happy.
  3. Cool. I've now been watching B&B long enough for my first year to be retro material.
  4. This is not the place to debate whether or not Roseanne's offenses were been blown out of proportion. We all have our opinions but pushing back at other people for theirs violates the "Be Civil" rule.
  5. I hope so. Hunter Tylo looks so fragile, TK could probably break something accidentally.
  6. Mal treats Kaylee like a little sister. The whole crew does. Without her I doubt there would be quite as strong a bond among the crew. I wish Tim Minear would do something sci-fi/space opera-ish again.
  7. I thought we learned all that we needed to about Bester, that he was incompetent. And the bolded part... pretty sure easy is an outmoded term even today. Our intro to Kaylee shows she is cheerful, enthusiastically, unapologetically sexual and an intuitive, (truly) genius mechanic. I like that Mal isn't fazed, just hires her on the spot. This is my favorite episode of Firefly and one of my top 10 favorite tv episodes ever. (Only Blake (Blakes 7) and Z'hadum (B5) might rank higher, depending on my mood.)
  8. Bad acting has always been a part of soaps - if that was the only thing that was wrong with B&B, I wouldn't complain. The thing that makes it practically unwatchable so often is the writing and the pacing. And considering how often bad writing is a soap staple, maybe for me it comes down to pacing. Actors disappear for weeks and months at a time, interesting plot lines just end with little or no explanation or are resolved with insulting stupidity. Most of this could be fixed with a whiteboard, some sticky notes and someone who cares.
  9. I didn't think about that. The Roku Channel had way more commercials than watching it on Tubi in the browser but I thought it was the site difference, not the format used. I rarely sit and watch the tv, so that's better for me anyway.
  10. I recently came across The Dead Zone after adding the Roku Channel to my Roku. I remember watching the last couple of seasons during it's first run in but never saw it from the beginning, so I watched the first couple this week. I'll probably plug away at it. Though I switched to watching on TubiTV. And I'd forgotten that David Ogden Stiers was a regular.
  11. I rarely watch dvds, since I do most of my tv viewing either on my tablet or phone. So I was really disappointed that Amazon Prime didn't have it. A lot of times when it leaves Netflix you can often get it there. Though I suppose $12 per season (SD) isn't too bad and they're commercial free. But until I decide if I'm going to keep watching, I'll take the commercials and watch it free. :) https://tubitv.com/series/1939/the_dead_zone
  12. Right now all 6 seasons of The Dead Zone are available free on the Roku Channel and TubiTv. (They each have commercials, though there seem to be more of them on the Roku Channel.)
  13. Sometimes finding an older show can be challenging. Where are you watching The Dead Zone? (Legal sites only please.)
  14. No revival talk - this is a no spoilers topic. Posts discussing the reboot and posts quoting them have been hidden.
  15. If they really are backing away from a timeline where either Liam or Bill could be baby Kelly's daddy, I find that a little depressing, since that means we are probably stuck with Steam. If they revisit it after Liam bonds with the baby, that would be hard to watch.
  16. We'v asked that users refrain from debating racism here. More posts have been hidden. If someone brings it up again, Report - Do Not Engage.
  17. Friday was one of the worst, most Soup-worthy birthing scenes I've ever beheld. I can't believe I used to like TK/Ridge or that he was even one of the draws for me when I first started watching. :(
  18. I thought they said something about scanning in photos, videos and voice messages. SM would be the source of some but not necessarily all of it. Leaving aside all the implausible aspects of the Reverie system (and there were a lot), it seems like one giant privacy violation. In order to create an effective simulation, you'd end up programming in a lot of real people who wouldn't have a clue they were being used like this.
  19. Not a terrible start for a summer series but honestly, I kind of expected more considering the cast. Still, the visuals were pretty and the non-VR mystery might be interesting if they take it up a few notches. Soon.
  20. For All Mankind Season 1 discussion.
  21. Just a reminder, this topic isn't for debating racism. Posts have been hidden. Editing to add: Political posts, even ones relating to Roseanne, are still off-topic, subject to moderation, warnings and potential bans.
  22. I read io9 every day, so often feel like I know a show when I haven't seen it. That's kind of what happened to me with SHIELD. I knew about it and eventually I tuned in. The first episode I remember watching live had the team hiding out in some motel that I see in tons of movies and tv shows. I watched, was mildly interested and went back and caught up. IIRC, I think Bobbi and Jemma at Hydra was when it became "can't miss" for me - though the show's insistence on keeping Brett Dalton killed a lot of the enthusiasm I had for the show.
  23. Where Roseanne ranks in the history of sitcoms is interesting - but off-topic for this thread. You can take it to this new thread: http://forums.previously.tv/topic/70796-roseanne-in-pop-culture/ Update: I've moved a bunch of posts there. If I missed any, let me know.
  24. This topic is for discussion of the episodes of the show so I have created a new topic for Joy in the Media and moved a few recent posts there.
